      I know a guy who got into one of the service academies (air force academy). He was in civil air patrol as a senior nco cadet in our squadron. He was appointed by our local congressman to attend and was also an eagle scout. I don't know what grades he had, but being an eagle scout and in civil air patrol greatly helped him to be appointed.

      Hey Rifath. Continue to work hard academically, physically, and in the leadership pillar. If you want to do it, put in an application! West Point looks at each applicant holistically. Just be sure to show improvement over time. Let me know if you have any questions!

    Hi I was wondering how the application process was for you and when did u start considering and prepping for West Point I'm only 14 but it has been my goal for a good ten years

    • @andresbarcenas9851
      @andresbarcenas9851 7 років тому +1

      Jacqui Barnes Right now I'm a junior in high school and have opened my West Point Admission after spring break. I can tell you you right now, study for the PSAT early, aim for a 1200 (a competitive score) and maintain a 3.7 gap and above. Sophomore year focus on the PSAT (again) and if you aren't already join your schools JROTC program and establish yourself as a superior cadet as this will get you points with the West Point Liaison. Junior year focus on the SAT and ACT and aim for competitive scores above 1200/30. Apply early for the SLE (Summer leadership Experience) because if you get accepted your chances of attendance go up. Do stay fit however as there is a mandatory fitness test (CFA) for entry into any military academy

    • @jacquibarnes8725
      @jacquibarnes8725 7 років тому +1

      Thanks for the advice I will definitely use it well, and as far as the jrotc program goes I have enrolled in a military college prep academy for high school so I'm hoping things go well there and good luck with your admissions process

    • @bbbko2841
      @bbbko2841 7 років тому

      Do I need to join the rotc class because I don't want to because as in my junior year I'm going to take 3 ap and 3 honors classes and if I take a rotc class it will drop my gpa

    • @trin7955
      @trin7955 7 років тому

      You don't need to, the vast majority of cadets weren't in JROTC. As long as you're doing varsity sports and keeping your grades up you should be fine
