Way cool. This young man is learning basic skills at least, doing something constructive, and having fun. Must be a great family, and you just don't see enough of this anymore. Please be safe young man.👍
My son is 7. At 6 he rebuilt his Honda z50r trail dirtbike from the ground up. I couldn't be more proud of him as well as yall keep up the great work guys. Awesome mower build.
Live seeing this. My dad and I done this 40 yrs ago and I have been hooked on speed and any type of racing I can find ever since. Give a teenager a wrench and a project and you never have to wonder where they are. Way to go both of you. You as a parent and your son getting on the wrenches.
Much Respect Brent. Parents like the one posting, yourself, and others responses give me hope. I mean that as I feel bad for children now days that miss out on this kind of bonding with dad and gain passion in something other than video games and smart phones. I think children are truly missing out on this now days with technology... don't get me wrong I love technology as I am here searching how to build a race mower; however that is because my time spent with dad and growing up gave me the passion to search for this on today's technology. I guarantee when I do this my dad will be smiling thinking damn straight that's my boy. I will do it thinking damn wish dad was here like when I was a young buck so we could do this together. Respect sir.
I’m so happy to see a kid interested in something other than video games and cell phones. It’s heartbreaking to see so many young people that you cannot even have a conversation with because they cannot turn a cell phone off and learn something new. This young guy will be the next Randy Dorton or Robert Yates. Every guy that claims to be a mechanic should know both of them. Keep up the great work! Gives me hope for the future!
Ya'll rock. It is so good to see genuine enjoyment in a child's face. Thanks for posting. We are about to start a build of our own. Just watching your video has inspire us.
Amazing video dad! i've been trying to get my son off the games onto a project like this. Great video the smile on your sons face is priceless makes the build worth while!!
Might have to make the scoop out of sheet metal, the tape will probably melt. Glad to see a young man eager to help with a project and not afraid to get his hands dirty. Nice build. Wait till he wants to do that to a car dad.
I'm 13 and I have scince I was 3. When I was 5 I rebuilt my first 2 stroke motor it was a person 50 I struggle with 4 strokes unless it is a 4 stroke lawn mower engine. I have done a full rebuild on s Honda gx 390 in 25 mins.
That is the coolest thing I have seen all week. My son (8) and I just got an old cub cadet like this one running this past week. It has no I was hoping to do something just like this with him. Very awesome sir!
This remember my self when I did start to work on cars , I was 10 at the time now I am 34 and I did enjoy it and til this day I still enjoy what I do and who I am today as a mechanic , he is probably be in the future a very good mechanic or maybe an engineer who knows but let his heart choose for what he loves. Keep it up 👍. And most important from the parents give him the support for whatever road he chooses in life, I am talking from the deepest part of my heart and personal experience.
yah you got me... started video over and still did not notice (OK 3 times but I do have a buzz)! Was thinking damn HD didn't mention time of reverse drilling! ha Totally agree with you on kid building stuff. Helping dad in the garage or home is what creates passion and plants the seed in us to pursue something, especially now days with phones and video games. I laugh when I tell someone I am older than google or cell phones, they look at me like I am an alien; however that is where my passions come from good stuff like this.
It just looked like it. It has to do with the frames per second of the camera or cell phone and the ribs on the drill bit. It is the same when you watch movies of stage coaches in westerns and the spoked wheels appear to be turning in reverse. I slowed this video down and could see the drill turning the right way just as he stopped drilling.
Totally awesome! I love this young man's enthusiasm, his use of tools, and his creativity! Great video! Keep up the great work and he'll be another John Force in the racing world!!!
Reminds me of my first project racer: metal bodied pedal fire truck with a 2 1/2 hp Briggs & Stratton wedged under the hood. Things you can get away with when you are under 14 years old. Mini bike running gear repurposed, alarmingly fast and fun!
I need to admit, I fast forward in the video just to see if I wanted to watch it. Next thing I know this young guy is burning gravel like he's racing a quarter mile drag car!!! So I went back and watch for the beginning.GREAT VIDEO!!! SMART KID TOO!!!
