Brilliant. Just one take per song. I don't know why I don't recognize the trombonist. He is very impressive. Looks like a larger bore instrument so may be a larger rim mouthpiece than most soloists use. Can anyone enlighten me?
Thank you Dr. Glenn. I just started a new Dave McKenna website so if you enjoyed this video, you'll love all the concerts I've posted. Please check it out when you have some time at www.davemckennapiano.com.
+Corte Swearingen - to be added to the description... Corte Swearingen has identified the trombonist: "I found out from Steve McKenna that his name is Jay Ashby." Steve is Dave's son.
He’s just that way, very shy, reserved and sensitive man. I knew him many years ago. He brings a melody out from just notes on a page to a full fledged beautiful gala!
No one like Left hand genious Dave M. I grew up with his music. My family were great friends of him!! Loveit
Dave's entry is... just wow!
Two musicians fully devoted to music creation...
Thank you for your recent uploadings of McKenna recordings. I cherish every minute I heard him and play and the times I talked with him.
Wonderful! Spontaneous, swinging; a couple of masters in excellent form.

I don't know who the trombonist is. I looked at the original source material and his name is not given. He's great.

Who is the trombonist, please?
Dave looks rather glum before they start playing.
