@Transporter_Not_Statham I remember they did that for a short time, but I don't remember the reasoning why. On one of my other videos, I have some clips of the Broadway Limited with a Horizon coach as well
@mgzuck It was a HEP generator as far as I know. If you look at the shot In Albany, It seems Rev up, so to speak, as the locomotive throttles up, which is interesting.
Brings back a lot of memories
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!
This was excellent! Thanks for sharing
Anytime! I'm glad you enjoyed it
awesome footage!
It’s crazy how I’ve seen some of these trains still operating today. I find the period prior to the Kawasaki M7 locomotives very fascinating.
Lots of train modeling opportunities
There sure is, thanks for watching!
@@DavidPaul-dh5iu that first clip was interesting that they used Horizon Fleet cars on the Albany-NYC section of the Lake Shore Limited

11:43 never would have thought a K5LA would stray onto a Turboliner. Nice!
19:50 It’s my favorite unit, 203!
Glad there's more video emerging of the starships (FL9-AC's). Overall they were a failure, but they were definitely little rockets!
At the time i was disappointed as they didnt sound like an F unit. Aesthetically I would take them now for sure
These FL-9 dual-mode locomotives were monster activity back in the day on MNRR, Amtrak, and LIRR, too!!!
I didn’t know Amtrak was still using the vintage F units that recently
THE FL-9S!!!!!!! LETS GOOOOO-
Is the "baggage car" that the FL9's pull off at Albany an HEP generator or something vs an actual baggage car I'm guessing?

those turboliners were underrated why gone so soon?
Turboliners were fine. Not sure why they had to remove them.
The FL9 diesel locomotives at the Metro North Railroad are old school
Back then Poughkeepsie trains skipped Ossining and Tarrytown?
@@jackslc01 I believe some did, not all
@@DavidPaul-dh5iu I assume some AM and PM Rush Hour Trains
