  • Amtrak and Metro North Commuter Railroad run on the former New York Central between New York City and Albany NY. The tracks follow the Hudson River on a highly scenic route. Electric third rail operations run from Croton-Harmon to NYC. Come along with us as we view trains of both railroads in the 1990's during an interesting period when Electric EMU's, the Amtrak Turboliner, FP10's and of course the unique former New Haven FL-9's were running on this route. You will see a few shots of the FL-9's replacements, the GE P32DCM on their first runs.

Glad there's more video emerging of the starships (FL9-AC's). Overall they were a failure, but they were definitely little rockets!

At the time i was disappointed as they didnt sound like an F unit. Aesthetically I would take them now for sure

It’s crazy how I’ve seen some of these trains still operating today. I find the period prior to the Kawasaki M7 locomotives very fascinating.

11:43 never would have thought a K5LA would stray onto a Turboliner. Nice!

@@DavidPaul-dh5iu that first clip was interesting that they used Horizon Fleet cars on the Albany-NYC section of the Lake Shore Limited

@Transporter_Not_Statham I remember they did that for a short time, but I don't remember the reasoning why. On one of my other videos, I have some clips of the Broadway Limited with a Horizon coach as well
