Hi, I just subscribed yesterday, but had been listening to your videos for a couple of years. My dad used to be subscribed and watched you regularly. Sadly he passed in August and I hadn't heard you again. Yesterday I was scrolling and I heard your voice and it brought back memories of dad and listening to his comments as you cooked. So I had to sub and imagine what he would be saying while you cooked again.
I remember buying a striped coconut bar candy when I was a child. It was white, pink, and brown, but it all tasted the same, I make coconut balls rolled in melted chocolate at Christmas time. My recipe is similar, but I melt butter instead of sweetened condensed milk. I'm going to try it your way this year.
I’m a 5th generation Canadian who traces my female line to Argyl. I can’t believe how many of your recipes my Grandma used to make! This coconut ice is another flash back. If it wasn’t my grandma making it it was definitely served in her United church basement!
Haven’t seen this in years will def make it .I made your muffin recipe again today ,so quick an easy .Several of your recipes are regulars in my kitchen .Thank you Cheryl .Bon weekend 🇫🇷
Aww thank you for sharing your recipe. I absolutely love coconut ice but I didn't know there was an easy recipe for making it. I will definitely be giving it a try.🙂
I have not had this since I was a child. I remember going to school fairs and it would be there. I'm was born in Ulster the true Scotland, I hope your channel grows even more.
New sub here’.I love your channel so friendly 🤗 You are such a wonderful teacher & i tried a couple of your recipes they turned out grand.Thank you for all the effort you put in to making these videos I’m hooked 😊
This recipe reminds me of a treat we have in the Philadelphia area of the US sold around St Patrick's Day. The end product is different. A bite sized serving of the mixture would be rolled into a ball then rolled in cinnamon. But I bet the texture and taste (without the cinnamon) would be quite similar.
Me 2 love me a raspberry ruffle we have then in home bargains and b&m here in northern ireland in bars with 5 in a pack for 1.25 and also in bags of individual sweets for same price check it out and if you get then enjoy ox
I thank you very much for this wonderful recipe!! I cannot wait to make it 😊 I appreciate your videos so much 😊. Thank you for always sharing your videos with us 😊 🙏🙏
Hiya, do you have a good shortbread recipe? One that creates shortbread similar to the brand in the shops. The basic flour, sugar, butter recipe turns out like different. Any help anyone?

That’s really interesting a candy named “ice” isn’t frozen. But it kinda looks like snow so it makes sense.

I haven't made coconut ice in years. Last time I made it I added a tiny amount of rose water to the pink half.
Hello Cheryl have you ever eaten a Raspberry Ruffle? imagine individually portioned raspberry flavoured Bounty enrobed in semi dark chocolate
I use to love them but haven't seen them years in the shops.
@@rosa-f4865 I have seen them in Home Bargains here in the Midlands.

I make my own take on them, very similar recipe but add raspberry jelly crystals to the mix instead of pink colouring and then cover in chocolate
Thanks looks delicious
If you made twice the recipe then split it in three sections and color one brown then you could make neapolitan coconut ice-cream.
Looks great
Dead easy too Louise! 🤩
This looks pretty darn tasty
I thank you very much for this wonderful recipe!! I cannot wait to make it 😊 I appreciate your videos so much 😊. Thank you for always sharing your videos with us 😊 🙏🙏

This looks interesting and I have all the ingredients on hand. Let's see how the church folk like it :-)
I heard coconut ice mentioned on a TV show once…and assumed it was a frozen concoction! Now I know. Silly American.
Ha ha! I thought it would be like sorbet as well. Sounds yummy, though! :)
Love the look of it and I would make it , but makes my teeth ache just looking at it

Yummy - Thanks for sharing Cheryl 🙏 Bet it would be great smothered in dark bitter chocolate to cut through some of the sweetness as well.😋💕💞💗
Cochineal might help to make it pink!
Ewww oh no 😆
@@WhatsForTea Would have thought that it had no taste! Just turned everything pink!
@@arthurvasey Just the thought of it though 😆 I'm sure it wouldn't taste of anything though!
Beetle juice 🪲‼️🥴🤢😂🤣🤣
Cochineal is the traditional food colouring.
I use beet juice to dye it
