By far the longest video, but here you have everything you can do with Project for the web today (end of 2022). 🤷Not sure what to watch next? Here's a good one: ua-cam.com/video/Fk1knjRcEDc/v-deo.html
Reached 100 views, next goal... 100 👍🏻
Thanks very much for this terrific detail. It's good to see that the board view is not impacted by using dependencies in the grid view!
Thanks David, it was a lot of fun creating the video. So happy with 100 video's on the channel. Any thing you would like to see next?
This was by far the most useful one I have found. Thank you so very much for this guide.
I still had a question, you said that we can change the default work templates for the entire team from the Summary in the Power App to that Project. What if I want to assign different work hours for different people in a team.
Do I change their individual templates? What do I do about the template that's in the summary? It says it's a required field.
Does putting a different schedule from the one in the summary give different schedule only to those people or is there something else?
Please elaborate on this also
Hi Yash, I wrote an article explaining a lot regarding the calendar settings. Hope this helps: www.mpug.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-calendars-in-project-for-the-web/
Wow, thank you so much for this. I'm interested to know if you can recommend a tutorial to custom build reports based on Project for the Web projects, e.g. using Power BI. Many thanks in advance
Thanks alot Remy, have you seen this video already? ua-cam.com/video/Z8iobShLDwU/v-deo.html This discussed the out of the box reports for Project for the Web. Is there anything specific that you are looking for?
I would like to know how to import the tasks into Outlook/To Do list or import Project into Planner. I don't have the desktop apps.
Thanks for the request, I'll consider it for a future video 😀
Can you assign tasks to external users or guests? We're collaborating with consultants through Azure B2B Direct Connect in shared channels and it would be nice to assign them if possible
Project for the web itself only allows for assigning users that are part of your AD. I believe the Project Operations version has more options but I'd need to read up om that if you want to know more, that version comes with additional license costs btw.
Has Microsoft published anything that shows a roadmap for where they are going with their Prj Mgt tools? I'm looking for a summary of where they are today and rough idea for what will happen to their older tools.
Hi Dave, yes there are roadmap websites for all of Microsofts products. But I don't think there is 1 place to summarize where they are today other than the product purchase website or a number of others. There are the ocasional article regarding products that they will sunsrt, but not much attention is given to them anymore.
9:00 you put all tasks on finish to start dependancy with the tasks being 3 weeks then 2 weeks. Doesn't that make the total task duration 5 weeks aka 35 days? Why is the summary task saying 25 days?
I am a new user to Project softwares in general. So I don't understand if I am missing something. Please tell on this
Hi Yash, Project for the web (and other project software) views a week as a workweek. Meaning that 1 week is 5 (work)days. So the calculation is 3+2=5 weeks, 5 * 5 = 25 days. Hope the calculation makes sense, thanks for watching the video and commenting.
Is there a way to link two seperate project for the web projects together for specific tasks? i.e. if task A is completed on project plan 1, i want it to show that its completed in project plan 2
In the native Project for the web this isn't possible. But with extentions such as Power ppm you van add softlinks between schedules.
@@TheProjectCorner Thank you for your response. How do I get the Powerr PPM app or is this an additional solution that only a vendor can provide?
Hi Kingy, The easiest way to get Power PPM is to go to this website: projectum.com/power-ppm/ it is a third party application that you can purchase through Projectum. We also work with a number of partners around the world.
How does project for the web handle recurring tasks?
Currently, it doesn't
Any way you can set a task to start as late as possible?
Not at the moment, it's all asap for now.
The issue shown on 12:45 is due to the Edge browser. Other browsers show the schedule as expected.
