Regarding 0:46 Cronus did indeed fear that he would be dethroned. Cronus’s fear was of his children rather than of his siblings. This was because Cronus had dethroned his father Uranus by castrating him with a sickle and discarding his genitals into the sea. Cronus’ fear of emasculation by his children drove him to swallow all of his children except for Zeus who had been rescued by his mother Rhea. Rhea deceived Cronus by giving him a supposed infant hidden in swaddling cloth. The pretended infant was actually the Omphalos Stone which Cronus swallowed. From what I know, the ancient Greeks described Hera as "ox-eyed" and "white-armed", and believe it or not, those were real compliments - they meant she had large, soft brown eyes that one could get lost in, and a clear, pure, and unblemished complexion that was as fair as ivory. Every year, she would bathe in the Spring of Canathus which, besides renewing her virginity, also made her lovelier than ever. They had another daughter: Enyo, twin sister of Ares, goddess of war and strife. Even more sadistic and bloodthirsty than her brother, she had a habit of butchering everyone around her, friend or foe, in between fits of manic, shrieking laughter.
Interestingly, Enyo is never listed among Hera's children in the source material. Eris is called the sister of Ares as well, but she is the daughter of Nyx.
@@deravash7651 they considered Enyosi the goddess of peace and a goddess of ambassadors, in addition to war, conquest, destruction, disaster, bloodshed (although more in the Roman writings, because not many sources about her survived from the Greeks). And in case you forget Ares is also the god of public order and feminism. Ares and Enyo are also married
That story is up for debate. That particular version is from the Roman poet Ovid whose stories had a strong anti-authoritarian streak. He often put the divines in bad light to show how they abused mortals.
@@daniellogan-scott5968 Thank you. If I had a dollar for every instance where someone slanders Athena because of her treatment of Medusa and Arachne, I'd be a billionaire here in the Philippines. People forget that: 1.) Medusa's tale varies according to the interpretor. The most (in)famous version is by Ovid who used the gods as a means to insult the ruling class of his time. Original Medusa was actually a Gorgon from the beginning and not a sympathetic figure. 2.) In almost all versions of Arachne's tale, she was an insolent braggart who dared to mock the gods and incur their wrath. Some versions had Athena best her in their duel and the goddess took pity on her so she allowed her to weave as an arachnid. Athena is the goddess of Wisdom, not kindness. Sometimes being wise means doing what may not be kind to teach a lesson to those who need it. P.S. Athena is also known for being the patron of heroes and assisted many of them in their struggles.
@@KamenRider1 With what you wrote about Athena being a goddess of wisdom and not kindness, I was reminded of a term I came up with about ten years ago, Athena's Wrath. It refers the the notion that reality does not care about ideology or belief and if a course of action is not wise, meaning in accordance with reality, then failure and destruction will follow. We can deny reality and we may have the resources the stave off the consequences for a time, but Athena always wins eventually. In retrospect, a better label might have been the Wrath of Nemesis since I am describing the violation of natural laws due to hubris.
jason and Golden Fleece are releated to modern Georgia(country). Jason fell in love with Medea the princess of Kholkhida (aka Georgia), and than she stole the golden fleece from his father. But sadly no one knows the myth is releated to Georgia, it is an incredible country and deserves the recognition
Because the ancient Greeks would have never come up with such a story? To do so, they would have had to acknowledge that Hera's anger at Zeus was justified and they definitely did not think it was.

@@omniavanitas7893 All of them are evil.
I am curious about Irene and some other gods, I look forward for future videos :)
2:45 Zeus reading a news paper? That’s new what comic is this from?
Good video. I Loved the intro too. Thumbs up.
At least she is smarter than the goddess of WISDOM who punishes her own worshipers
Cough cough
Medusa ..... cough...
Athena May have cursed her to protect her.
That story is up for debate. That particular version is from the Roman poet Ovid whose stories had a strong anti-authoritarian streak. He often put the divines in bad light to show how they abused mortals.

Thank you.
If I had a dollar for every instance where someone slanders Athena because of her treatment of Medusa and Arachne, I'd be a billionaire here in the Philippines.
People forget that:
1.) Medusa's tale varies according to the interpretor.
I see a Rick Riordan fan here
Thanks!
1:07 Wait. I thought Aphrodite was the most beautiful goddess?
Pallas Athena , Minerva , or Hellene .
Aphrodite probably wasn’t at Olympus yet. Since she was married to Vulcan it’s safe to assume hera was the prettiest till Athena and Aphrodite came
Siremora the siren pffftttt
Angela Cooper That makes sense.
Siremora the siren Watch what you say. She could punish you for saying such blasphemy.
I loved your new intro it is really cool.
The name Heracles translates to Hera's glory. And that was a statue of Moses not Jupiter.
Ahh man I wish my father and me could listen you say that live.
Zeus is like every man alive today but 10x times better🤚🏻
jason and Golden Fleece are releated to modern Georgia(country). Jason fell in love with Medea the princess of Kholkhida (aka Georgia), and than she stole the golden fleece from his father. But sadly no one knows the myth is releated to Georgia, it is an incredible country and deserves the recognition
Only one man dared to challenge her power. HERCULES!!!!😆
BTW. I love the new intro.
HAHAHAHAHAHA he fell in love with his sister
More like LUST instead of love
Traci Lind always was the perfect choice to play Hera in a movie back in day
I love Hera... She is a boss queen... I just wondered why she didn't find a way to make Zeus impotent!
Because the ancient Greeks would have never come up with such a story? To do so, they would have had to acknowledge that Hera's anger at Zeus was justified and they definitely did not think it was.
I hate Greek Mythology Hera. She is such a nasty piece of garbage. I prefer the Disney Hera we saw from Hercules much better than the Hera Greek Mythology. Greek Mythology Hera is a nasty piece of garbage.
