Boat Dock Crappie Fishing - Norris Lake

Boat dock crappie fishing on Norris Lake Tennessee is an absolute blast!! Billy and Greg go old school crappie fishing, no live scope, no fish finders, no nothing but rods and Bobby Garland Itty Bit Slab Hunters. It takes the guys around 30 minutes to find a good school of crappie. This is done by going boat slip by boat slip until some crappie are caught. Once you catch one or two crappie, there is usually a school of crappie. When the crappie are found the action is fast, catching crappie after crappie. The technique Billy and greg are using is dropping the Bobby Garland Itty Bit Slab Hunter to the bottom, then very slowly reeling the lure to the top. Bites can from obvious to subtle using this technique and are sometimes hit on the way down. We used to do good off that old dock too but i've not had much luck since the new marina came in. Good lookin stringer!

Ask permission before fishing from a dock. You are correct, most big docks like that one usually don’t allow it, but occasionally if you ask you will get permission from a few. Good luck out there!

Hang in there, it’s not always easy. Sometimes it takes us a while to find the crappie. It’s hit and miss sometimes, but when you find the schools you can catch ‘em cast after cast.
