  • Before the heaviest of rain and wind came blowing over Norris Lake, TN, it was the best time to see how much I could fish in the storm off the bank before having to call it quits from getting too wet. This video is pretty much a carbon copy of the setup I used in the last video to catch the Crappie, but it’s been the only affective setup, in terms of bait and slip bobber rig setup, to catch these jumbo slabs in the last week and a half. Today is Feb 28, 2024 and we’re almost getting into pre-spawn season (if it hasn’t already started)!
I apologize for the audio being horrible, because of the rain and wind blowing into my iPhone’s speaker. It was a spur of the moment fishing trip, so I had no time to get my GoPro camera setup and ready, as it was at the house, still. Anyway, despite the poor audio quality, there’s at least some good fishing quality in this video!
The fishing rod is a 7’ light action Shakespear Micro Series. The line is 4 lb Sufix - low-vis green/ clear line. The reel is a 5:2:1 gear with 7 ball bearings. Bait is 1 1/4” bobby garland - monkey milk color. Jig is 1/80th ounce Cabela’s / Bass Pro Shops brand. Slip Cork Bobber is Trout Magnet brand. Split shot sinker is size 7.
