This video never gets old. This is my third time watching and the only video I trust on how to apply powder foundation. I have combo/oily skin and have recently given up on liquid foundations so I came back to this video for tips. Tfs.
I've always put liquid foundation on then pressed powder foundation over it (same shade) from Clinique and it's always looked natural yet flawless. That's how I was taught at the Clinique counter back in the day 🤷♀️😉
I’ve been using Mac Studio Fix Powder foundation for years!! Then I use MakeUp Forever finishing powder on top. Then Urban Decay setting spray. Literally lasts all day!
I use a light application of oil underneath my powder foundation. I think it looks really nice. It looks glowy and pretty! Its not cakey at all. I use a large flat buffer brush and really buff it in
Useful information. I wish I'd had this video before I bought the new Fenty powder foundation. Mine is too dark...and its slightly lighter (at least in number) than my liquid foundation. Great info!
MYIESHA!!! My BFF in my head! ❤️ I learned a lot from this video. I’ll wait for my skincare/prep to set first before applying my powder. Great education!
Excellent tips!! I’ve been wearing powder foundation with liquid foundation together on my oily skin for years! You’ve given really excellent & helpful tips, especially regarding application & primer. I’m going to purchase the Makeup Forever primer you recommended TODAY!! Thanks!!
@@thamlett379 Her video is great! She shows concealing first (and also if using cream highlight and contour), which makes sense. I watched others think about it after and they wrecked their look and then blamed the powder foundation or they didn’t moisturize enough before and blame the foundation. Jackie explains everything! She’s the gold standard, (plus she’s hilarious!) I don't know why they didn't demo how they would apply it on Sephora’s channel. So many people are asking since it’s a product most are unfamiliar with using. It kind of makes sense...
I bought bare minerals powder foundation and so far I am loving it. My daughter suggested it to me, but you have given me sound advise as yo application! Thanks you!
Mineral base powder foundations work great on textured skin and mature skin, and yes use brushes for full face application..... sponge or puff on blemishes. Paired with color science color correcting powders for small areas and under eye --- beautiful flawless finish!
I enjoyed this video! My regular go-to makeup is the original bare minerals. After watching this video I experimented with a more fluffy brush and I liked the lighter coverage vs. a kabuki brush. Thanks for the tip about different brushes 😁
1)so its ok to use makeup forever primer with powder? i've read that you should use water based primers with powder and shine control is a silicone based 2) what are the best primers to use with powder for oily skin?
Thank you! Another episode of brilliant informative, professional and entertaining advice! I’ve got a couple of powder foundations sitting alone and neglected for so long, they’re coming out today!!
Thank you for the great video. I learned a lot, and will definitely relay to my clients in store. I have been dying to try this too, I am very oily. This looks perfect for me.
This was so timely and informative. I just ordered the Fenty powder foundation. Can’t wait to receive it and to try out these great tips. Thanks Myiesha and David. P.S. - I sure do miss Jeffrey.
Haha...love the blooper moments when you guys really wanted to give us more information at the same time!!!🤣🤣🤣 How can we NOT love you and Sephora?!!! Thanks so much as always. I do wanna try those powder products!!!
@@Sephorado we use the same shade of powder foundation as the liquid one or a lighter shade…I am combination skin..I want to buy the Fenty powder foundation but don’t want to land up with the wrong shade
Theoretically, no matter what kind of skin prep you do (moisturizer) wouldn’t it be easier to use a primer like the Tatcha one to lock in your skin prep and give you a smooth canvas to work on ? Therefore the powder foundation goes on smoothly and you get the correct shade match. Also using a gripping primer will instantly give you a blotchy look hense making the foundation appear darker . Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Question about the Shade Finder on the website - I could be wrong but guessing that tool doesn’t take into effect the foundation darkening on the skin. How should we tweak that when picking a shade? Maybe go a shade lighter?
Great informative video, since I don’t wear liquid foundation. Can anyone suggest a good primer for dry skin that would work well with the Fenton Face Powder ?
I love these tips, thank you guys! Just wanted to ask: I have a problem with powder foundation, when I want lighter coverage. The powder gets absorbed to my skin. I listened closely to your tips, and I do everything correctly. My skin is normal to dry, but after a few hours it looks like an oily mess and the powder is gone. The only way powder foundation stays on me it's when I make it full coverage. But I can't figure out the light/sheer coverage.
@@Sephora Yes, I do use a proper primer. My face is never oily, only gets oily with light coverage from powder foundation. I don't even have a chance to blot - the whole foundation sinks into my skin, like I have no foundation at all. MAC powder foundation, I'm looking at you. ;) Thank you for answering!
Hey David , hey Myiesha🤗🤗🤗, I only use foundation powder for touch ups, or a finished press after a full beat...btw....ummmm where's Jeffry???🤔🤔🤔been a minute......

Myiesha! That blue liner is fire
That's the first thing I thought when the video started ! 😍
A demonstration doing it would be great

Check out Jackie Ania’s video; she goes through every step. It’s excellent!

I’m obsessed with powder foundation. It’s been great for my quick, no makeup makeup looks.
Then you'll definitely want to give the Fenty Beauty one a try.
@@Sephora with powder foundations, do we use powder blushes and bringers n contours also or can we use cream n liquid products also?

I had the same issue with my Fenty powder foundation. Had to exchange it twice. The shades are darker than what we expect, but offers an amazing look!
I have been using powder foundation only for years ,thanks for teaching how to apply it the right way 👌🏻👌🏻
Happy to help!
A demonstration will be great! I love Myeshias make up. I think she is so beautiful.

i’ve seen several videos recommending applying concealer, highlight, & contour prior to applying the powder foundation. what are your thoughts?
Check out Jackie Aina's video. It is the best one.

Hi guys and thanks for the video! I love using powder foundation on my sensitive décolletage area. It looks much more smooth and even.
Great tip!
really appreciate the tips!! I brought power foundation at Sephora in Korea ❤️ I have a plan to introduce this on my channel :) love this baby ❤️

My favorite team! Although I have dry skin, I will give that Fenty powder foundation a try for sure.

I saved this video because of all the useful tips !
So, liquid fondation for dry skin and powder for oily skin ?
What brushes did you use on this video. Can you please list. Thank you.
Could you tell me what Myesha (sorry if I spelled that wrong) is wearing on her eyes? It looks spectacular 😍
Question: is the hydro grip not convenient for oily skin?
We'd recommend the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Shine Control Primer for oily skin.
Great informative video, since I don’t wear liquid foundation. Can anyone suggest a good primer for dry skin that would work well with the Fenton Face Powder ?
LOVE you and your infectious laugh David!! Happy 2021 doll🙋 many blessings 💗💗
So many good points. Thank you !
Thank you your timing is spot on. I just bought a powder foundation. Glad I saw this I think I have been putting it on all wrong. Bless you! 👍🏼💄🥰
