@@Sleepyboiwonder I don't know if it's the s22 getting older or what, but the Pixel 8 Pro feels very fast. With the exception of done of the AI camera and video features, those take a bit of time. LTT tested it and both the 8 and 8 pro were both substantially faster than the respective 7 and 7 Pro in benchmarks and games.
I got my 8 a few days back, an upgrade from my 3A. It is really a nice phone and simple to navigate. I used my phone for youtube, navigation, messaging, light gaming and some photofraphy. And, the dictation is really a nice feature. 😅
I'm kind of a phone geek and tend to buy the latest phone and sell them off frequently. I switched from a Pixel 7 pro to an s23 ultra about 2 months ago. Love both of those phones. But I pre-ordered the Pixel 8 pro. The software tricks that pixel phones have that are exclusive or just more useful than things other phones do with their tricks. For example, I love the fact that the phone is always listening to songs and identifies it on the lock screen. I don't need a separate app. I love call screening and miss that as soon as I get a different brand phone. I love the simplicity of the cameras and now with the new AI features they will be even better.
Your demonstration of "best take" has me thinking of a hilarious and great use case for this tool: purposely creating the worst take possible of group shots.
The temperature measuring device now provided by Pixel Pro 8 in my opinion is a ridiculous new phone iteration! Is it there simply to up the price! Is there any dialogue whatsoever between Google and Google Customers other than money exchange!!! I am a Google customer. I enjoy use of my Pixel 6 Pro but now I think I need to watch more carefully my money than Google products.....
The problem is that the P8P is still stuck with the crappy Samsung modem, while the P7P was definitely better than the P6P, Pixel is still leagues behind qualcomm's modem. It is at the end of the day a phone and an inferior RF chain doesn't cut it. Edit: typo 7 to 6
I've had all three of the modems starting from the 6 pro. I had major issues with the six and barely any issues with the 7 (mostly battery drain). None so far with the 8, more to come.
@@kylesweigert7901Let's hope for the best. My P6P was unusable and my P7P is better than the P6P, but not in the same league as my S23U. My P7P has been relegated to surfing the Internet at home. Pixel 2 was awesome. I've had 3 Pixels between then and now, and they've all been a disappointment. Great features, but hardware that falls apart (with no/poor help from Google).
Its sad that google can slap a thermometer in pixel 8 pro, which nobody wanted or asked for, but they can not acomodate a SD card slot. They have to name their displays because if they don't then its just super amoled displays by Samsung and i doubt any manufacturer wants to give Samsung credit for their display
Can someone tell me if the pixel 8 pro can watch 1440 resolution UA-cam videos or just 1080p? Because it doesn’t have exactly 1440p resolution it’s like 1344p.
I don't understand the criticism of small phones! iPhone 13 Mini is the perfect size. I'm upgrading to a Pixel 8 from my Pixel 4a and will definitely miss the smaller screen size!
Agree I’m active hiking riding etc and a small phone in the top chest pocket is perfect, it’s the reason I keep my 13 mini as a spare with the pixel 8 pro. I don’t get the hate for small phones either...
I honestly think I would get the a54 over the pixel 8. It's much cheaper, the battery life is better and the screen is better. All for almost half the price.

No, it’s marketing. Same case as car warranties having 7 years. Although more likely a car will be kept for 7 years than a phone.
