Subbuteo brought me so much joy as a kid for many years. It's the only "game" I've kept from my childhood days. I picked it back up after a move to our new home and fell in love instantly again. I love your channel. Loads of content on all of football games. Looking for a new pitch and trying to get more old school subbuteo(teams, figurines, fences...). The channel is a lot of help... Bingewatching them.
The sad part is (for me) that this whole Patreon/platform shift has come about due to youtube ads interference when those of us with adblock were enjoying ad-free uninterrupted episodes all along
Fair point Tom. It was all working rather well with UA-cam until June last year. But, apart from the Ads, the fact that our Patreon videos are uploaded onto Vimeo means much higher quality as UA-cam over compress videos.
@@TableTopYears Totally agree with Tom the end user needs to do what they can to subdue the annoying ads, we all know the Google Principle and cut our cloth accordingly Fair point Kieth, Vimeo Video is higher quality but we are paying for the privilege. For me quality of content is way more important than Video quality.
@@TableTopYears You're quite correct the quality of anything is subjective, and I for one have found you're content at times entertaining as well as informative. An increase in video quality would not increase most people's enjoyment. I think your comment of 430,000 views endorses my original comment, as well as your quality of content. UA-cam is what it is, I didn't want the ads spoiling my enjoyment so I addressed the problem and found a solution that I found satisfactory. You obviously have issues with UA-cam, I get that, in fact I have issues with google in general. Whatever your reasons for switching to Patreon I'm sure they are with the best of intentions.
Well worth the £1 a month for the full version, much better quality video. Really enjoyed the guest presentations, you should bribe your son and heir to do more. Great to see the team re-energised except for Smiffy, hope you get the all clear soon.
Patreon is not for me guys, sorry! I want to thank you for all you have done! Beautiful videos and great memories for the last 2 difficult years! Wish you the best, and hoping to keep your old videos on your UA-cam channel.
What do Table Top Years think of the Sport Billy variant of Subbuteo? As it's 40 years since it was introduced (for the 1982 World Cup) I wonder if it is worth doing a feature on it?
It's been uploaded now. As the video is twice as long and Vimeo process at higher quality it takes longer to put together and upload. It'll be there by 9pm Monday night
I probably still have my zx spectrum copy of subbuteo somewhere. It was pretty disappointing when it came out, not up to the standard of other football games of the time like Match Day and way less fun than just playing actual subbuteo!
Hi Keith - where can I find the full version of that England v Wales clash please - either my memory is very bad and I'm getting old (true!) or I haven't already seen that in full. Cheers. Great episode by the way and I fully agree with your views on the RSC/ESA - they are totally complementary in my view - the more exposure the game gets the better. Excellent presentational skills there from James - clearly runs in the family (ie I assume he takes after his mum :)). All the best.
@@TableTopYears No, I found the page all right...it's just that this episode doesn't seem to be on it. The other videos are there (Table Top Years documentary, etc.)...I just can't find this episode.

I’ve just downloaded Patreon but nothing is coming up when I search for Table Football Monthly? Is there a link or anything available?
