Too bad this interesting and downright heartbreaking plotline never went any further. CD Project could easily make two more massive DLCs based on the decisions Geralt made in Velen and Novigrad.
A _A Sinple. Save the orphans. Saving the orphans leads to Anna being turned into a drowner which breaking her curse kills her. The Bloody Baron is wracked with grief and regret. With Anna’s death means he is unable to make peace or penance for what he has done to Anna.
I didn't believe him. He was said to be evil which could have been the trick and hoax of the ladies, but I was decieved by the plague wraith and that made a deep wound so I no longer trust in ghosts.
Good ending to this plotline? Allow the children to be eaten to save a village and Anna lives with her mind gone or let the village be slaughtered the children are saved but Anna dies and the baron hangs himself.... Had a hard time making this choice
@That is Bull Shiz The whole point of this mission was to be morally ambiguous. Even from the beginning. You cant entirely blame the Baron or his wife for the situation. Yeah, sure the baron is an drunk that beat his wife but not before she cheated on him for three years and tried to take his daughter away. Then the wife decides she doesnt want another kid of his and makes an literal deal with the devil that backfires terribly.
Eh.... did not care for children anyway so didnt bother me much at all. Plus you get to give best closure to one of most intriguing characters in the game while on the other hand saving the orphans gives you.... well you can see them in city after some time playing in an orphanage. The litte ...... wont even recognize you lol. Not even a cutscene. Just can see them hopping here and there.
Anna sold her soul to the crones. And she must fulfill it. Meanwhile Tamara sold hers to the eternal flame. This bind her to novigrad forever, most likely. Shame, she’s a righteous character. That one day will cross Geralt’s path and will pay with her life for her duty. Also shame the quests end here. And you can’t ask them how’s it going.
I freed the spirit of the tree before meeting the Crones. This actually allows you to release the spirit without getting Anna killed. The only thing is the children still die it looks like.🤷🏼♂️
This is the bad ending. Idc how much this grotesque baron fooled you with lies and charisma. Im surprised how many people fail this test. Sure the baron wasnt pure evil, same can be said of the tree, it saved the kids. But saving kids and letting a drunkard commit suicide is the lesser evil. Geralt even says as much. Dont pretend you are being the good guy by saving baron. Saved for what? Hes out of the game either way after this mission. Beat his wife, killed her lover, lied about it all and blackmailed you into tracking his abused family down... Oh yeah totally worthy of redemption. Unlike those innocent orphans who clearly deserve to be eaten. I could make a case for downwarren and tree too but if the ethics of the barron/orphans is lost on you than maybe you dont understand the concept of lesser evil or just stan baron too much for whatever reason "Hes angry and violent, just like me"

I played hide and seek with those children. And one of them reminds me of my sister. I wish i could save anna and the children. I don't give a damn about those villagers

Lmfao I just laughed way too hard at 7:00 and then came immediately to comments to make sure I wasn’t insane.
I laughed way too hard and clicked on that part multiples times to watch it again cause it was just too random and funny.
I'm so glad I got this ending, the first time I played it, the Baron hanged himself and I had no idea there was more than one outcome.
grimSleeper59 how can this ending be performed??

Travis Gibbons that’s his suicide ending

There are no good endings in this game. You just have to choose between the lesser evil.
