I Sure am! There was a second of, Hey, I think I Know this guy... then a full minute of, This guy looks , sounds, and has the same mannerisms as Joel...and his glasses even look the same... Then I looked down at a comment, and saw someone confirm it, and I have now had my first stumble across a person I know on UA-cam. Sorry, just had to share what a weird experience it was.
It really bugs me the reprints got the supply side wrong, they printed loads of German base game, Krang expansion etc and I had to fight tooth and nail on ebay recently to get and English version of the Krang expansion. The other two expansions are now reasonably hard to get now (in Europe).
Pedro Alves For krang I tried all the Madrid and Spanish online stores juegagames / planetongames / dungeonmarvels / dracotienda and nothing. I got it from the U.S. which was highly priced which is a bummer as they've done reprints in english recently :( I also bought Krang some months ago twice from amazon and each time they lied and sent me the German version... got my money back though... they let me keep a German version.. which I don't really want.
Oh god PLEASE do not attempt to play this game with 4! I'm proud of you for slogging thru it with 3 lol. 2 is the DEFINITE sweet spot with this beautiful monster, with solo right behind. Any more than 2 and there just aren't enuf resources on the board to get yourself where u need to be for the endgame. Nice review though!
I played the crap out of mage knight as a kid and either my dad never really taught us how to play or the game has changed massively, I remember there was only figures with their turn dials, no cards no tokens no good evil scale . . . . . . . . Huh
@CelebrityMindDeath I know. I love it though. But there have been some in my group that don't like it at all, mostly for the time it takes and the pure brain crunch that a turn can be.
I'd say there isn't a better game that does exactly what MK does. Gloomhaven is a massive legacy campaign style game. With MK, each game you play is a self contained thing. So, I'd say which game you should bring to the table depends on your mood and who is at the table. Both are well worth owning and playing. Also, there is Kingdom Death Monster, if you hate having money. MK is usually what I bring to my friend's house, as there is simply far less commitment required from everyone at the table. All are great, and are a mutable top 3 games of all time for me.
Have you played Runewars? It has also a lot of rules and can hurt brains in a good way. I just wanted your opinion on this because if it is as complexe and complete as Runewars, this is a game I would like for sure. Thanks for the review.
I have not played it. I was waiting for the Revised Edition to pick up and then just completely spaced on it when it was released. I have read the rules and Mage Knight is definitely more complex. I can't really say by how much, but I remember digesting the majority of Runewars from one read of the rules. I can't really speak to the play, but the games do seem very different from each other.

That moment when you realize you know this guy... and he was your C++ Teacher almost 15 years ago...
Hah! Hey Ashton. Hope things are well. Still in the area?
I Sure am!

Ashton Ekhoff No worries. It's weird for me too. Not the first time this has happened! "Oooooo, look at Mr. UA-cam Channel!" :)
It's ridiculous how many times i have watched this particular video. I should just buy the game already! Waiting for the reprint to come out.
+Ryan Barber Haha! Have you heard of the Star Trek themed game coming out using this engine? Star Trek: Frontiers?
+Drive Thru Review Yes. I like the movies, but otherwise missed the boat on Star Trek. haha.

Try spanish stores.

I feel like I'm watching an mmo sales pitch lol

Great job. Been thinking of buying this. I've read it's the best one player game.
Thanks. I think it’s OK with two as well. More than that... yikes. (I don’t remember what I might have said in this review lol).
@@DriveThruReview Would love to see a video regarding the expansions for Mage Knight. Keep up the great work!
To this day, this is still my favorite game.
You almost sound sorry for liking it! Great review!
This is old but, do you perchance know the name of the intro song?
Man... I forget. I think it's from World of Warcraft.... I think. Sorry :)
Heh, you're right! Found it :) Thanks.

Ya that was the miniatures game. This was a brand new game with similar figures, but with more of an RPG-lite feel... which came out in 2012 iirc.
@@DriveThruReview so then what's the one I'm going on about called?
ayla lanman Mage Knight :D
@TheCoolCaper Thanks. Yep, definitely thinking of getting the expansion at some point.
@CelebrityMindDeath I know. I love it though. But there have been some in my group that don't like it at all, mostly for the time it takes and the pure brain crunch that a turn can be.
Man, I really should consider trying this out.
Do you still own, play & like the game? Is there a game that has replaced it for you that's similar & better?
Gloomhaven kind of replaced it for me to be honest.
@@DriveThruReview Cool.

Never played Runebound. MK is relatively close to a computer game in terms of hours/replayability.
Awesome, thanks for the great review!
Arythyea Air-ree-thei-ah. Thats how I would sound her name.
This game is NOT co op correct?
It can be played as one. Depends on the scenario.
They came painted.
Joel, do you still play it?
I haven't played it in some time, but I've been itching to.
Just cheapy Ultra Pro penny sleeves.
Warcraft III :)
