You were correct about hanging the curtain to absorb the arrow's energy. I found the company's safely recommendation: "We strongly recommend not keeping your archery backstop netting taut as this will greatly increase the chances of your arrows penetrating the net. Keep the net as loose as possible and be left dragging along the floor where possible in order for it to completely absorb the energy of the arrow. For example, bunch the net like a half-drawn curtain; the more folds, the greater the stopping power. The weight of the net is what helps to slow the arrowsField Points are recommended for use with these Backstop Nets."
yes, this works great. I have one in back yard, made of an old heavy fabric living room curtain, of close weave. The principle is that an object at velocity, when hitting the material, is captured by the friction and the subsequent loss of velocity and power, as the material is moved, the transfer of energy, is complete. Now, 'ballistic' fabric works on same scientific principle..only that an arrow travels at 100's fps, whereas a bullet is 1,000's fps. (there IS a mathematical formula for this..!..not included here!)
Is the netting as good single layer? I have a nett from bewrpaw or something. It is not very good. 20% of my arrows goes through from 25 meters with a 35 # bow! But I will change my arrow tips and maybe that will help a little...But I really wounder if the nett works as well in one layer?
...either way, me don't think I'd stand behind it, just to test! ALSO, and IF the fabric is tensioned, IE..taut, the arrow WILL pass right thru! It has been said that when Colt first put out his Colt .45 revolver, some officer actually shot at a flag, that was made of silk. The silk 'captured' and expended the energy of the bullet, and it fell to the ground. I'm pretty sure, one can find such stuff on the 'net..!
where i want to shoot my bow i can allow absolutely NO arrows to go through the backstop, is that possible? if i buy two of those and fold them in half so it has 4 nets, is there a possibility an arrow will go through? with a 40lbs bow

Nice net, I want to get one for golf. Do you keep yours outdoors? Would it last if I keep it outside? thanks
oh, yea, great to see you back, vacation OK..??
Thank you
Sweet finger tab/glove! Is it available commercially or was it personally crafted or custom made?
Awesome quiver and forearm guard too. I like the paw prints!
nice net brother
