- Just in time to cash in on the new Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV series, here's a series of Buck Rogers-related toys from Mego: a Rogers "action figure" himself; plus the Starfighter, the Draconian Marauder, Twiki, Emperor Draco, Tigerman, and the Draconian Guard (what? no Wilma Deering figure?).
Planes need assembly, and each sold separately (as are the said action figures).
Voiceover by Wendell Craig.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, September 10th 1979 at a little before 4:00pm.

I still have mine that my mom and aunt got me from a garage sale! I would watch the reruns when I was little (Buck Rogers was on well before my time, but not long enough as to not be able to find the remnants of the franchise at garage sales and such. Man I loved the old days before ebay!).
I remember reading issues of Famous Monsters that I would get from the flea market, and I would see Buck Rogers and Star Wars toys plastered in almost every add back then. The sci Fi craze really picked up after star wars and alien

Had all of these as a kid. But sadly lost them as time went on. But still have Twiki. :) Thanks for posting this fantastic commercial.

Related post: Several years ago I decided to give Buck Rodgers a try. I watched an episode and didn't really care for it. About a year later, I decided to give it another try. I kid you not. It was *THE SAME EPISODE!* Buck, apparently had a space fever. It allowed him to see that some guy was really an evil alien in disguise.
That's definitely not one of the best episodes of the show. Start with season 1. It helps a lot to watch the show in order
@@pacmancdi I watched it on an actual TV nonstreaming channel. It was just pure luck it was the same episode both times! I'll see if my public library has it. They actually have a huge DVD collection.
@@cindydott452, the first season is good. The second season isn't as good.
That robot has an unfortunate shaped head. 4 year old me noticed the similarities quickly

Poor Mego grabbed every sci-fi toy license they could after foolishly passing up on the opportunity on Star Wars. 😢

@@FuzzyMemoriesTVall the figures that were released are based on the pilot movie. They didn't make anything from the rest of season 1 let alone 2.
