Andy, many thanks for posting. I know that area a little but your video combines two things I like, exploring on a bike and old railways. What's not to love!
Please post more like this. Colin

Thanks for a great video, I came to your channel through audax, but as I'm Shepton Mallet born and bred I really enjoyed this. The gates on the Windsor hill tunnels have recently been removed with plans to convert the old railway lines to around SM to cycle paths.

That wide Paddock you describe at 3.31 is the old Morewood Sidings, hence it's wide appearance. There were several sidings here alongside the double track main line, plus a signal box.

This is brilliant, Andy. I love your juxtapositioning of the route now with the old photos to bring the whole thing alive. I live in South Devon and so get to ride on the line only once a year. I have done bath to Radstock and then up to 5 arches but then got lost on what I think was the old GWR Frome line, and could not find Midsomer Norton Station. From Radstock the line is gravel and cinders to 5 Arches. Can you continue to the station from there?

      Thanks Nigel.
Yes, after 5 arches there is a road crossing and the line continues up to MSN Station. Riding that section really brings it home how steep it was.
Will dig out a gpx.file later that follows S&D from Bath to Bournemouth, either on former trackbed or alongside it and add it to a reply comment.
      Best wishes, Andy

@@andysadventures3910 Many thanks, Andy for going to this trouble for me. I did not expect any reply at this late stage, but only came across your videos yesterday for the first time. It won't be until next year but I would like at least to cycle from Radstock to Masbury summit to see the old station. There are some pretty decent climbs on the Wellow-Radstock section when you are off road, as you will know well, particularly if you are loaded with camping gear. I have done the Sturminster Newton to Blandford section and it took me back to the late 50s and early 60s when we travelled a few times to Bournemouth on the Pines and even at that age, I couldn't get over how beautiful it all was in comparison to grimy North Manchester where we lived. And leaning out of the window on the climb from Evercreech towards Masbury to hear the engines' exhausts. What memories.
