This song takes me back to a time when I had a really bad time with my father. I was 6000 miles from him when he died n this song seems Elton wrote for me. It always takes me back to those days when I wasn't able to say goodbye n make up with him. Always brings a tear.
Good night, everyone ! Good job ! Well done ! Smashing songwriting by mr. Taupin ..! Also such a great cover performance..! I keep missing the old 70's..! Captain Fantastic is really something right therei in past time..! I do miss that wonderful time..! Greetings from Brazil west...peace...!
very fine cover. they got the harmonies of the original down pretty well. True confessions: I sang a cover of this song at my high school graduation in 1976. Yes, it really happened.
OMG!!! Have been playing Elton John's Capt Fantastic non stop for a week and was wishing Heart would do a cover of this song!! Holy Shit they DID!!! FUCKING AWESOMENESS!!!!!
I fell in love with this song when I was very young after purchasing the Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy album. Just read it was the first song Elton and Bernie did together.
This tune is a series of metaphors about Your Song, the “freshest flower this garden ever grew” that changed Elton’s and Bernie’s life, , written by Taupin by Elton’s parents garden, with the “childish words” leading them to the “treasure children always seek to find” , “on e upon a time” which led them on the “long and lonely days” and climb to the life world of Captain Fantastc and the BrownnDirt Cowboy.” “curtains” naturally close the show and the story here.
So great ! It's a very nice cover, because you don't impersonate Elton. You have your personality. The duet is just crazy. The mix of your two voices and the guitar give us a feeling of folk and blues music. Encores !
This is awesome! A couple years ago I stumbled upon the Alice in Chains cover. Surprising anyone has covered this somewhat obscure tune, and very impressed. I love what Ann is wearing here.
@@addigi5598 For non-fans, Captain Fantastic is pretty obscure in itself among EJ albums. It only has one hit, so kind of faded out quickly. IMO, it's his best.
@@primroseburrows maybe you do have a point my friend but it did really well selling wise..I would thought maybe Rock of Westies was more of obscure..though I loved it

Just rediscovered this song after over 45 years. It deserved to be a standard. The lyrics, melody and harmonies are just so universal and timeless.
I don’t have words to convey how much I love this song
My favorite song of Elton's.
Makes me cry this one does! Kudos!
I'm the biggest Elton fan in the world and I was skeptical about this but THIS VERSION ROCKS!!!
I thought AiC was my favorite cover of this song but now I've been moved to tears. ❤
What an AWESOME very of this classic deep cut Elton song. The drummer is also right on point all the way through.

The last stanza is truly brilliant.

Wow. Absolutely beautiful...legend covering legend. Thank you.
After all these years still send chills down my spine. Love it so much ❤️
Everything they do is magic.
Love it. Love Elton, Love Heart
Only Ann and Nancy can cover this song! Beautifully!! I don't like covers but I love this!!
There's treasure children always seek to find.
Most beautiful lyric ever.
And just like us, you must have had a once upon a time.
@@melvinworsham5360 that line always hits me hard.
Beautiful..Elton would be proud,I'm sure....
Captain and the Kid knew how to make music...
Favorite band covering my favorite Sir Elton song. Does it get much better?
This is so beautiful by my girls!! ❤❤
Just great! What a lost song. Thank you for this!!

Wonderful song, but not even close to their first collaboration which continues to this day.
Scarecrow was the first song Elton and Bernie wrote together and is referenced in the first line

Great job.
Congrats from Brazil, dudes. 💙💚💛 I love this dong!
Captain Fantastic is my favorite album by anyone of all time. While this version doesnt come close to EJ's, it's still great. 👍
Fantástico!!! uma linda canção do Grande Elton John em uma linda interpretação desse grupo fantástico! Emocionante.
To any one born in the 60’s, does this song remind you of your youth?
Wow, this is a very nice cover.
they did a fantastic job!

Not obscure at all.
doofus0123.. This song was from Elton John's Captain Fanstatic album not at all obscure

I heard captain fantastic was one of Jerry’s favorites!
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy(1975), one of the great LPs.
Elton John es un GENIO
Great cover! Should be on reloaded ? Eltons best song...75 was his peak......
Oh my word this is fucking excellent. Thanks for the upload.
Damn that was great!
Thinking Elton would approve!
Thank you for sharing :)
such a great tribute to hear, Ann and Nancy let go, tell that story...
Thanks for uploading.
Great cover!
amazing heart rules god bless
Bella época, hermosa melodía
wonderful. \thanks
Wow! to a great song done by great performers
they nailed it...
great cover...the geedback is bone-chilling
beautiful
Ladies and gentleman that’s how you do it.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very moving.
This is my favorite Elton John song and as such I was prepared not to like this cover. They did fantastic.
That's funny, because sometimes I get a negative feeling when someone does a cover song of a favorite! She did a wonderful job!
Was a little worried they left the lum-de-lums so late. My favorite part of the song.
Prima ! Maybe this ladyes is old backlng stage by Elton from 70th ?
Check out Jerry Cantrell's version too!
Greath
Wow, I would love to have this recorded at the studio, rather than the stage with someone's iphone.
melody
Went to look for the Jerry Cantrell cover... oh, he's Alice in Chains' singer/songwriter. D'OH!!
Should had put the "Drumbeat in" other than that...Pretty 👍....
Timing problems at first but very good voices.
Jeff Buckley did a wonderful cover too. 🙏🏼💙
what's with the hat?
Oh please....
I love Heart, but this does not compare to Capt. Fantastic .
Great voices however, far too 'staged'. No emotion, no connection to the actual meaning of the lyrics. Just a cover to them. shame.
Lol
sux
You suck.
Great cover!
