Heart performs a cover of Paul McCartney & Wings, Let Me Roll It at Artpark Tuesday In The Park Concert Series in Lewiston, New York on August 5, 2014.
When you have a riff composed by McCartney, honoring and flattering the primal kind of riffs composed by post-Beatles Lennon, played by Nancy Wilson, you can’t go wrong.
As a Heart fan for nearly 40 years I'm still amazed at the Wilson sisters! Whatever they've done, original Heart in the 70's, rock ballads in the 80's, duo in the 90's or modern Heart in the 2000's they nail it every time. And they do some of the best cover songs as well, be it Led Zep or McCartney. While Ann has one of the greatest voices in rock history, I love seeing Nancy sing lead for a change. Not bad for a couple of women in their 60's. Love this!
When the girls had their spat Ann toured alone and did some killer cover tunes from the who and all the people you would think they listened to way back when.
Just rediscovered this song from when I was early teens, not only is it slow & sludgy, possibly a precursor to grunge, I love the absurdity of many of Wings lyrics. My heart is like a wheel? Really? Let me roll it to you? LOL, just brilliant!
Seen the girls in concert in Okc in 1976. We to after party drank until day lite. Still have the t-shirt they both signed for me back then. I was 18 years old. What a nite it was.
Wow. Nancy kicks both ass cheeks on this one, using her guitar on one cheek and her vocals on the other. Kudos to Ann for giving up the lead mike and laying down the harmonies here. Well played.

The woman has a couple of the greatest looking ta-ta's in rock and roll, a very ample and inviting rear end, and she has always insisted on keeping everything bundled up, covered-up, and modest.....August weather and she's wearing full leggings.....a modicum of demureness and church-lady behavior all from a rebel chick in a city of anarchy and rebellion, Seattle. She is a living, breathing double-standard and hypocrite.

However, I agree with the dude who called them out ..... not quite my tempo nor the tempo Paul and Wings used on their version.....too slow. But, I applaud the sisters for bringing it on guitar and vocals however I greatly lament these ladies have never leveraged their god-given beauty, looks and physique. They cover themselves up in ridiculous garb instead of teasing us with their ample, even abundant feminine charm. Nancy, especially, I'm still dreaming about what you must look like....a shame you gotta hold that Telecaster so low but we get it....can't be any higher.
A version is covered by somebody else, thus cover version; the original performer doesn't have a version....they are the original. If you truly want to say Wings had a version of the song then I guess you could say they did the original version, but original is an important word to leave out.
GREAT choice! As usually though, this band is slow and anemic sounding, and credit/blame for anything like that lies with the drummer. Maybe a little quicker but still slower than the original would make it a bit heavier/rockier and less poppy.

They lived in a suburb of Vancouver in 1974,called White Heart. ALL the kids from neighbourhood would go over after school, to hear them practice.
