I've gotta give it to you matt, you've definately got unusual skills for metalworking. I've been doing it a lot myself but don't have access to equipment that you do Can just imagine what you could come up with in a ground up build of say an 18-24' all aluminum heavy water boat,I'd bet it would set every fisherman's heart on fire with envy seeing you roll something' like that out of the shop,it's be epoch.!!!
Those Bimini looking hooks are to strap the oars down when not in use. Sick build. Your LVD break brings back memories. I learned to bend metal on one many years ago.
This build has definitely exceeded my expectations. I love the way you customed fitted the decking at foot pedal tray, and if I didn't know better, I'd swear that was factory, no, come to think of it the factory could never make it look that good! This is turning out to be another TRICKED TINS MASTERPIECE! Waiting anxiously for the next video! Great job Matt!
Thank you. I agree with you. These big companies pump boats out so fast they lose the true craftmanship. QC Is rushed, and they end up doing sub par work but still charge premium $$$
Super excited about this build. It's looking sick. The layout is perfect. I know you hate on square bow flat bottom jons but when you see one tricked out, you can tell immediately it's custom. It looks like you've built that entire boat so far without having to get inside of it. Your knees probably appreciate that 😁
You're doing a great job on the layout as usual and you're right about checking the weight distribution on the water.I have watched quite a few of these boat conversion builder's and you're the first I recall saying that.
Matt, do you have a video of what works best? Budget, size/capacity and typical boats for certain fishing styles? I looked at boats this size, but after hearing some of the cons on weight, I have no idea which way to go with a boat. I value your input and see the awesome boats you’ve built.
Not really. I wouldn't get anything smaller than a 1448 and definitely a welded hull. No rivets! To get a good jonboat you are going to spend around 3k just on the hull alone.
This is going to be nice. I want to see a 1232 Jon boat. Know it would be time and very limited but I think it would be cool to see you take on the challenge.
I think I've watched pretty much every video of yours I can find. Your work is incredible and fascinating to watch. I used to build aluminum pool screen enclosures and I still consider myself an aluminum craftsman. Anyways I've been wondering how you charge for your work. I've heard you mention an hourly rate but is it hourly plus materials? I'm sure it is and it looks like a nightmare to keep track of how much aluminum you use.
Thanks, man. A lot of the big builds I do at home are for friends, and they get a hookup. I've done so many I can pretty much estimate how much a build is going to cost.
Looking sick! I do wonder if he might have to talk with Angler’s Choice about swapping out the monster trolling motor for a smaller and lighter model. A boat that light does not need to huge motor to move it anyway.
Love the build man, I would love to do something similar. Does the foam in the bench seats have an important purpose other than just being a noise suppressor?
Yeah, it has 2 purposes in this boat. 1) It's supporting the bench seat. The aluminum is super thin. It relies on the foam to support the bench. 2) It's for flotation. If the boat gets swamped or flooded, it will keep it from completely sinking. Im going to add as much foam back into the boat as possible.
not gonna lie, it's so weird seeing my own boat in one of Matt's build videos. I still can't believe this project is happening.
You better believe it brotha! YINTIN is going home with you lol. I have too many boats already!
This is such a great collab!
Clean boat man. What’s the dimensions on that front large hatch?
This thing is so fresh with just the aluminum look 🤣 it’s gonna be bad ass 🦾
Thanks brotha

Once again you are Killin it. Get back to work.
Yessir! I love it!

Thanks brotha. Might be the same one lol. Its a 1999. We've only had it for about 8 years, i think?
Who woulda guessed, huh!?! Nice work!!! Be Safe

Hmu i got you
Nice to see someone takeing so much pride in their work . Great job .
Thanks brotha
Great things come in small packages. Your killing it on this build. Tinny tiny boat has some descent storage.
Yessir
What craftsmanship! I love watching these builds, but I’ll stick to doing my wood and fiberglass boats for now. Lol
Thanks brotha

Weight distribution is important!
Looks great dude

Appreciate it
I have the same boat, older model, you gave some good ideas to do with mine. Thank you

Sorry brotha but im already over these small builds.
Just found Ryan, and now I just found you too! Subbed, and rang the bell! Like…

@@TRICKEDTINS Alright man thank you! I plan on putting some compartments in my benches and was curious how much the foam contributed for the boat
layout is looking awesome! might copy a couple things for my 1236 project
Lmk if you need some custom metal. I know a guy 😆 🤣 😂

Killed it bro
This video makes me wish my name was Yin.
Nice to meet you Yin! 😆 🤣 😂

What brand of cuttoff wheels do u use on your frinder?

@@TRICKEDTINS looks like I gotta learn how to weld aluminum
Here’s a question for you😂 how would I go about having you do something to my job boat?
$$$$$
Lol everything now a days cost money
I have 3 kids to support. I know all about it!
@@TRICKEDTINSwell I’m only a few states away and I’d be Interested!
