Wow Simply incredible. What a treasured neighbor you have! I loved Kay and her stitching and her redware WOW! I think one thing that really got my attention and now will go read about is the flax to linen and she had some to show, of course hehe I enjoyed this so much! PLEASE show her these comments!! I could watch and listened to her for hours and hours! What a treasure to cross stitch community. mini hugs Jennifer
I will! I printed out the first day of comments to show her, but many more people have said how much they enjoyed visiting with her so I will be sure to let her see those too! Glad you came along for the ride!
Thank you Valerie for the idea of taking us for a tour and many, many thanks, Kay for letting us into your home to show you such beautiful samplers. You are a treasure!
I happened upon this interview only by seeing the title - Samplers and Redware. This was such a treat. The house is my dream house with the beams, antiques, reproduction furniture, samplers and the redware. Thank you so much for the chance to see so many lovely things and please thank Kay for sharing her home and talents. I would love to have a piece of her redware.
What a beautiful home full of so many treasures. I truly enjoyed seeing every single sampler, and all that Redware... I am afraid I could never leave Kay's home!! Thanks for sharing it with us!
I agree! They would have to drag me away from there but Kay and Bob are very forward thinking, cheerful people that approach each new adventure in life with joy.
This was amazing...I had to stop stitching so I wouldn’t miss anything. And it’s a video I will rewatch because I know I’ll see something new every time. Thank you. Blessings, Marlene
I have just found this posting and LOVED seeing this woman's incredible works of art. She is a treasure! Thanks for visiting with her and sharing her work with us.
What I really enjoyed was Kay’s independent spirit about her stitching. She stitches with DMC and uses a small plastic hoop and that works for her. Her work is really beautiful and so many times we hear about needing a lot of fancy floss and frames and various other expensive accessories to stitch. You really only need a piece of ground cloth, threads, and a needle.
This was fantastic! I was totally lost in the video with your neighbor. Just in awe. Thought I was watching a PBS show. Thank her so much for allowing us to visit her home and see all those amazing samplers and her redware. Thank you again.
Valerie, It has been such a joy to watch all of your videos. As I'm sure others have already said, you are doing fantastic! I want to come and join the cross stitch bus tour! Sounds like it's loads of fun and the all you can eat place has my mouth watering. We seem to have very similar interest in stitching as well as quilting. I too have been bitten by the Sue Spargo bug. I have one top complete and another full BOM kit totally untouched. Please pass on my many thanks to Kay for sharing her beautiful Redware and lovely samplers with us. Until next time, Happy Stitching! Suzette x
Oh my goodness. I've watched this over ten times already!! Valerie, thank you! You are a charming lady and did a fabulous job. I adore Kay's work and her stories. I am a reproduction sampler stitcher exclusively, and my focus is Scarlet Letter and The Essamplaire, so I have either stitched, am stitching, or have kitted all of those samplers that she showed of the two designers. Just fascinating, beautiful, and inspiring. You are a sweetie for doing this. Please tell Kay thank you for allowing us to peek into her world. Best floss tube video, ever!!💖
Wow Robin, that's high praise. Thank you. I'll bet you could do a video of your samplers! Sounds like you have a great collection, too. I'll be sure to tell Kay that you enjoyed it!

Valerie, I watched this entire video with my mouth hanging open, gobsmacked by the incredible samplers & redware loveliness. What a delightful hour spent with the two of you. This will go down as one of my most favorite videos ever! A lesson in the history of samplers, how the flax was processed (incredibly labor intensive,) the framing done by her husband, the whole thing was superb. Thank you so much for taking us along and many thanks to Kay for her hospitality. I'm still reeling from this video, so I'm off to watch it again.

Flannel Jammies Farm - Well hello there! I was just enjoying a visit with you this morning! I left a comment on your latest video but forgot to say how much I liked hearing about your decision to do your own thing and stitch what you like. I’m still in the process of figuring out where I fit in with all the “stitchalongs” and “stitchMaynia” stuff since I only discovered floss tube last year. But I do know that having you watch my little videos is a thrill to me since I am a big fan of yours. Thanks so much!
Oh. My. Goodness, Valerie. That was Amazing. A friend just alerted me to your channel today. I binge watched this afternoon and can't wait for more. Of course, my hands had to be busy so I was stitching on Sarah Braizear 1829, and after this video I realize I need 100 more samplers just like her. Thank you for the field trip, and please thank your friend. She's just delightful.
Thank you and Kay both for the beautiful and informative tour of her home, samplers and red ware. I will have to watch this again to try and take it all in. ❤️
What a wonderful video and so loved hearing both of you and the wealth of knowledge from Kay. Exciting and I had to go watch it a second time to recall all the information. I hope Kay will let us visit her sometime again in the future. Thanks so much for being on floss tube. Thank you for sharing this. What a beautiful home and incredible work. I live in a cottage in the UK which was built in the early 1700's - tiny but adorable. My favourite store in the US is Country Treasures and I always bring back far too much stuff to cram into my tiny home - absolutely adore everything in this lovely lady's home and all of her and her husband's beautiful. I have stitched a lot of samplers etc and apart from one, they are all in a bag. Really must put them on the wall somewhere.
I learned so much about samplers & redware pottery. I never knew such a thing existed! Kay was really interesting to listen to! Thanks for sharing your visit with her!

Heavens to Elizabeth...I thought I had died and gone to Sampler Heaven. I started stitching about the same time as Kay and have lined a wall or two since, but could neverhope to achieve the volume Kay has. When does that lovely lady sleep. The Samplers andRedware and artifacts produced by the team of Kay & Bob have left our world morebeautiful and glorious than can be imagined. I am just finishing the Mary Slatter andif Kay has not done it, I think she would find it to be primo....Many thanks, Valerie, forthis gift from the heart....

Hi Valerie I love your floss tube videos! I am getting caught up on all of them and you are doing a fantastic job. Don’t sweat the small stuff about the videos the dos and the donts you are doing great!!
What a nice comment, thank you Jan!
One of the best interviews i’ve ever seen on Flosstube. Your street is full of talented people. Kay’s house is wonderful. When I saw her redware you own I thought that’s just what I would have Chou. Thank you for making wonderful videos.

I'd love to visit her home and see everything. We lived in Western PA for over 20 years but now live in AZ. I miss PA so much. I'm looking forward to more of your videos. Happy stitching.

A WONDERFUL video!!!...and what a nice woman. Very talented in so many things. I think you should do another video featuring her husband and the things he creates. Her samplers are beautiful and I thank you for introducing her to all of us.
Great idea! I will have to float that suggestion and see if he is willing. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this enjoyable (and educational) video. Kay is an extremely talented artisan and I was both delighted and amazed with the size and scope of her sampler collection. I am a proud owner of a piece of Kay's redware pottery that I bought at a folkart show in York, PA many years ago. So happy to learn more about her life as an artist. Mary
