This is a collection of moments from our recent trip to Australia.
Over a month I filmed a few seconds or minutes each day, from the mundane to typical Australian details.
I hope that, through this video, you get a glimpse of what Sydney and parts of Australia look like if you have never been. And if you have I hope that these images will remind you of it.
I didn’t want this to be another typical travel video so I tried when I could to really put the emphasis on composition instead of movement and focused on the quiet moments with a touch of minimalism. Since I was there for a few weeks and knew the spots very well I also filmed at golden hour as many times as possible.
All shot handheld (aside from the time-lapses)
6K BRAW, in 24 or 50 fps.
Let me know if you have any questions :).
Cheers,
Flo

Here is a collection of moments from our recent trip to Australia. Shot on the BMPCC6K Pro.
Have you been there?
Cheers,
Flo
Currently living in Sydney, but wow you just bring a new cinematic light to my daily life. Amazing well done
@@nelsonzhang1369 Thank you so much!! I lived in Sydney for 10 years and never filmed as much as I did in this trip being back on holidays. Always happens like this :)
My hometown. Beautiful. Thanks for the memories.
@@doogyob Thanks for watching :)
Next time come visit Western Australia, Margaret River area , bit more wild ;) ill drive ya around
An absolutely stunning cinematography piece. The sound mixing is also incredible!
May I also ask what was your settings for the fireworks shots, I presume it was around 1250 and denonised in post?
Thanks so much Taylor!!
ISO 3200 since I was shooting at F4, with a little bit of noise reduction but not too much honestly.
@@OfTwoLands That's awesome, I just shot on the Sigma 18-35 at night in my video I just posted on Saturday there and was getting a lot of crushed details and so much noise at 1250 and that's an F/1.4!
So glad we made it happen! xx
Me too, had such a good time and little Finn loved it :) !! xx
Love seeing my city I know so well through your eyes - It's almost like experiencing it for the first time again.
Thanks mate!! I felt the same way when I was there since we were visiting for the first time with our little one, everything seemed new :)
great work An absolutely stunning cinematography piece. The sound mixing is also incredible!
Thanks so much 🙏🙏
I was in Sydney back in 2007, this film feels so real it brought back so many memories. Thank you! Thank you blackmagic design for making cinematography so accessible to us!
Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it :)
@@OfTwoLands I really have! Thanks a lot!
All your shots + the music = pure cinematic epicness
Thanks so much :) !!
The boat shot & the ants one are insane (everything is insane but those two are incredible)
Thank you ☺️🙏
So moving. Those golden hour shots at the beach are epic!
Glad you liked them mate, thank you!!
Also my favorites, pretty odd to see a black silhouette with scorching golden light
I lived there for 10 years. Amazing to see how you see it with fresh eyes.
Thanks!! I lived there 10 years as well and it was such an interesting experience to explore it as a tourist again!
incredible to live in this time.
We're lucky for sure :)
Your composition of shots has always amazed me but this was just stunning. The sound paired with these visuals made me a little emotional haha ... made me proud to call this place home. You captured it all so beautifully. And so steady! Little Finn's reaction to the fireworks was priceless. Loved it.
Your words mean a lot my man!! I wish we had more time to hang out, looking forward to next year's Oscars haha :)
@@OfTwoLands it's a date
as someone who owns a 6K Pro this makes me proud to be a owner of this camera it truly a underrated camera and the image quality is just unexplainable and another I’ve noticed people like myself who film with this camera and upload cinematic videos like this on UA-cam it’s always in the true widescreen format the real cinematic black bars I love it this felt like a movie thanks for sharing this it got me inspired all over again 🎥 subscribed 🫵🏿
Thanks for the positive feedback and support :) !!
Great quality great color grading
Thanks!!
You have the most beautiful family memories album. Stunning shots!!
Thank you so much for the kind words!!
Beautiful!
Thank you!!
There is something of a tragic feeling i feel. This gorgeous world you’ve captured has a musical score that is mournful yet beautiful and painful.
Like a memory of a loved place and time already past.
I always tend to gravitate towards ambient/sad music and I thought that one matched the footage quite well. We did have a sense of bittersweet memory and nostalgia visiting a place we used to live in.
Beautiful shots. Your photography is great.
Thanks so much!!
Wonderful footage, fantastic work. I can imagine big hollywood movies shot with this camera.
Thank you!!
Incroyable vidéo Florent.
Merci ☺️🙏
Yoooh this is stunning, really enjoyed watching this mate! I love the flow of colour from start to finish!
Thanks so much mate, really glad you enjoyed it!! Hope your little family is doing well :)
Dope ❤😊
Thanks!!
nothing compares to this video. top notch
Thanks so much!!
@@OfTwoLands you’re welcome

Thank you 🙏
Color grading is just magical ❤

It's a perfect post-production fusion with great shots at the right moment!
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback!!
Amazing. I'm homesick
Thank you :) !!
i wonder how the golden hour shots look ungraded.. amazing
Thanks!! I will probably post a few before and afters on my IG at some point ☺️🎨
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!!
Very soothing Flo, so much to like about it.
Thank you mate!!
This is absolutely stunning
Thank you 🙏
Great content yet again, Flo. I really liked how you have been able to mesh together what is essentially a personal home video-style with this camera. It really felt like I was in those moments with you guys!
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback man, glad you liked it!!
This is so breathtaking and real at the same time...
The sea shots have some Christopher Nolan's TENET feel to them, for some reason. Probably the boat grip shots, I dunno :)
Great taste in framing a color too. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the positive and kind feedback!
You made my day by mentioning Nolan haha :)
Beautiful
Thanks!!
Stunning!!
Thank you!
Flo the Composition King🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much mate!! 🙏👊
Loved this - watched it several times on repeat. Would love to do this when visiting parts of the UK and Bangladesh.
Thank you so much :) !!
Incredible work Flo as always, love your content and channel, When I lack inspiration I find myself here.
Thanks for your comment, means a lot!!

man, I loooooove your content!!! stunning stuff
Thanks so much!!
@@OfTwoLands I’m currently deep diving into the BMPCC line. I’m wondering if the 4K might be enough for me in the beginning? What do you think ?
Or does the 6K gen 2 offer better versatility then the 4K?
Off course I will watch some videos about it , but I was wondering about you thoughts :)
I got a very big Terrence Malick vibe... and that's definitively positive! Awesome video.
That’s a huge compliment, love his work!! Thanks a lot 🙏
OMG absolutely breathtaking!! I must've watched this like 8 times in a row now. Can we pleaseeee get a film breakdown? I wanna know how you got these shots like the cloud timelapse at 2:17. Incredible!!
Thanks so much!! I will keep that in mind, hopefully I can make it happen :)
Great shots and composition, AAA beach shot at sunset.
Thanks a lot!!
@@OfTwoLands i have to thank you for learn from you and get inspiration
Beautiful. Hope you had a great time back to Australia, Flo!
We really did, thanks guys :) !!

Just what I needed to see today, absolutely incredible work. Your grades and compositions are what only people can dream of! Keep up the amazing work, inspiring others and come back to Australia soon!
Thanks so much for the kinds words mate, really glad you enjoyed it!!
10/10 mate. 🔥
You're too kind, thank you!!
Absolutely beautiful view of my hometown. Shame you didn't get to the blue mountains. A gem of Sydney for another trip, hey!
I was actually in the Blue Mountains most of the time, my wife's family is in Blaxland and Springwood :). I love that area!
@@OfTwoLands no way. Awesome!
Incredible work. There's something about the Blackmagic cinema camera that gets you hooked to the screen. Watched it on my OLED TV. I personally prefer Super 35 to full frame cameras. You're very talented. I own a Blackmagic 4K and a Sony FX30. We also shoot with RED and Arri and Blackmagic looks so close to Arri. Thank you for this.
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback!! And yes, Blackmagic cameras definitely have something special going on :)
Amazing
Thank you!!
It was amazing
Thank you!!
C'est super beau, tant à l'image qu'au son! Bravo Florent👏😍

Thanks so much!! I actually made a video about my color grading process last year so feel free to watch it, it is very similar to how I graded this one :)

Can you do a video on how you shoot handheld ie hand placement and how you walk while filming?
I already made a video about shooting handheld in general but I am working on something specific to travel content at the moment :)
Just fantastic 👏
Thank you!! 🙏
LOVE!
Thanks!!
Beautifully put together. Love the music choice!
Thank you mate!!
Brilliant. The light. The color. The sound. The choices.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback :) really glad you like it!!
Muy bueno!....felicitaciones
I use the 6k pro too. Its such a beast! You took it to another level on this one though!
Thanks a lot!! And yes, really is a beast!
Great video!!! captured well
Thank you!!
Great work!
Thanks!!
Hey man, great cinematography as usual. It would be nice to see a video on how you decide on your shot list, and camera movement, is this all pre-planned and if it is, how do you decide on that.
That would be really helpful to me.
Also how you expose your landscapes, false colours, histogram etc, people talk a lot about skin tones but not environment shots.
Cheers
Thanks man!! I am actually working on my next e book which will be about travel cinematography and cover exactly that :)
@@OfTwoLands sounds great
@@OfTwoLands Let us know when that e-book is ready! As always, beautiful work Flo!
Epic
Thanks!!
a lot of envy to see how i have the same camera and you get an extremly movie look and i get crap! i keep learning i think :)
I'm sure you'll get to where you want to be :) I've been shooting with these cameras for years.
Beautifully done brother. I recently took a mountain trip vacation with my wife and daughters and now I regret not bringing my P6K Pro and doing something similar. Did you feel as though you were stressing the whole time trying to get shots or did you feel like you were still able to be present and in the moment with the family?
Thanks man!! I always have a camera, regardless of the trip or company and I think since I had a little one I want to capture memories even more. On this trip filming was very secondary. I spent days without shooting much and most of the time I was just filming a few minutes here or there. I was never stressed getting the shot or not. Only once or twice I actually made the choice to go somewhere just to shoot. I also lived there for 10 years so I knew where to go and when so I didn't need to plan :)
Nice frames and lovely colors :))
Thanks a lot mate!!
beautiful footage bro
Thanks mate! Next time we should try and shoot together :)
0:48 my god this is epic picture
Glad you like it!! :)
wowwwwwwww
☺️🙏
always beutyful bro!
Thank you!!
Just magic, or black magic, whatever. Great job!
Haha, thank you!!
@@OfTwoLands ❤
I enjoy your work!
The timelapse seems Nice! Can you Choose a slow shutterspeed so that you get a Nice motion Blur??
Thanks !
Glad you do!!
And yes I believe you can, I always have mine on shutter angle 180 but I think you can pick whatever and record a timelapse.
how is 6k vs g2 ? different
Nice man. ;) Very nice. 👍
Thank you :) !!
No sé cuantas veces he visto esta película en este último año ¿Hasta donde subes el ISO en las tomas más oscuras?¿con 3200 es suficiente?¿subiéndolo más sigue comportándose bien? Un saludo desde Cádiz.
