- Aloha Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On Sunday, April 28th, 2024 (see video), I made the announcement that I’ll be out of the pulpit for the month of May. This because, we will celebrate my wife’s birthday, who, as many of you know, continues to battle breast cancer. BUT GOD, as only He can, is shrinking the large tumor and stopping the aggressive spread, for which we give Him all the glory, and are most grateful to all who have been praying and continue to pray.
We also commemorate our daughter Noelle’s memorial when she went home to be with Jesus on May 4th, which is 2-days before Kellie’s birthday and 8-days before Mother’s Day, which is May 12th this year. Then, 6-days after, we celebrate our second-born son’s graduation from college, and shortly after our daughter’s graduation from High School 1-year early as a Junior. Then we will also celebrate my first-born son’s birthday.
Then, in addition to all of this, I will also be officiating the Celebration of Life for a dear friend and brother in Christ, David Anderson, on Sunday, May 26th, which happens to be Memorial Day weekend. These are just a few of the many things that I just want to be with my family for, all of which are during the month of May.
Please know that you’ll be left in the very capable and loving hands of both Pastor Leitu and Pastor Mac as they fill in for me in my absence. Lord willing, and, “IF WE’RE STILL HERE”, I will return to the pulpit beginning with our prayer meeting on Tuesday, June 4th, which I’m really looking forward to, and as such will be so ready to come back.
This for a number of reasons not the least of which is that I love you all very much, will miss you all very much, and that I’m so profoundly privileged to be your pastor both locally and internationally, for which thank you all so very much.

Pastor Farag, I will miss you, but I pray that you will enjoy this time with your family. I am a breast cancer survivor of 5 years now, so I understand. My only daughter passed away 7 years ago, and so I understand that as well. Mother's Day is so hard for me.

Pastor JD, we love you and your family so much. God has truly blessed us by allowing us to be a part of the ministry that He has called you to. Soon and very soon, we will all be together in eternity with Jesus and when that happens, I am sure that after we initially see Jesus and celebrate being there with Him, there will be a line of people waiting to give you the biggest hug you have ever gotten! And I know that Jesus will be in the very beginning of that line to say, "You finished strong, you didn't quit, and now you are HOME!" Hallelujah!

May 4 is my daughter's birthday! So glad God has guided you to take May off. As a 7 year Breast Cancer survivor, I know God is a healer. I know the importance of being with your wife and family! My family,( I'm divorced) my 2 adult children who are married to wonderful Christian spouses, and my 4 grandchildren stayed by my side during the time of surgery and recovery. Love listening to you Pastor JD, please pray for my daughter Angela age 52, she was diagnosed with cancer, she had cancer 9 years ago, total hysterectomy, was cancer free that whole time, I begged not to get the juice, but her being a nurse, didn’t agree with me, and so it has returned with a vengeance. She is. So needed, she has a 12 yr. Special needs foster daughter, been with for 10 yrs. and her 22;yr. Old daughter, nursing student so needs her mom as well, as her husband. We cant bear to lose her. The rapture would be such a wonderful option. So waiting for that to happen. Thankyou so much for your encouragement and so thankful to have an “untainted’” pastor to listen to.

I know it's hard Pastor J.D. I am praying for your dear wife and her cancer , I know it's really hard for her . I am going through it myself and today I find out my results from my oncologist from my biopsy I took last monday : these have been the longest 8 days of my life , But on the flip of the coin This is the most I have ever prayed . Whatever the outcome is for me I know the LORD is smarter than me and knows everything so with that said whatever HIS will is I will accept it . I trust in Jesus Christ with all my heart .
