I agree Dan Marino was a great pure passer. In my experience watching and studying Aaron Rodgers, I think he's the best pure passer and the most confined NFL quarterback ever even if he was to play in the rough 90's era
@@mikefallopian3191 It's a statement that says if one just takes Marino throwing and picking out receivers, there was nobody better. Whatever it was, Marino's an all-time great; people get wrapped up in that "best ever" stuff, forgetting that greatness comes in many forms and has endless narratives.
Amazingly these teams would finish the season with records just one game apart from one another (Dolphins 8-8, Cardinals 7-9). Wouldn't have guessed that after this game.
@@Hanleywood2006 This TNT night package allowed the Cardinals to have an early home game, since climate was a concern when it came to scheduling Cardinals home games (this team needed a done VERY badly).
As a Dolphin fan for the past 45 years, I find it interesting when Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle cannot get open. Somehow Lamar Thomas and Charles Jordan got open. Perhaps it has more to do with the QB, i.e., Marino vs Tua.
This game and the opener against patriots were the highlights of the Dolphins 8-8 season in 1996. The WR receiving corps in Miami was lacking in comparison to 94 and 95. No Irving fryer or mark ingraham. .mcduffie is the only quality WR. Bless jabbar - but he had no acceleration...career avg of only 3.5 yds per carry. This offence is all Marino and a bunch of nobodies.
Don't ever be disrespectful under my comment again. I love posting about interesting facts. And I'm not going to change that about me. If you don't like my comment, don't reply to it.
I went to this game as a 13 year old. Saw Dan come out the tunnel, but he did not sign an autograph after the game....he walked right by me and boarded the bus with a beer in his hand.
I been looking for NFL games on TNT
Marino is still the best pure passer ever imo.. ring or no ring.

What does that even mean ?
Sounds like just another way of saying he wasn't the best QB.
DAN MARINO

I just realized the Cardinals played every home game on Week 2 ever Sunday Night Football on TNT in 1992, 1994- 1997.
Great find Chris! I remember this game and the one in 97 Arizona won in OT vs the Cowboys. I guess TNT liked to air the Cardinals early in the season

Dolphins won today at Arizona first time since this game.
22:10 Christ, I'm having Sammie Smith flashbacks.
Jimmy Johnson was 9-3 against the Cardinals.

benny robinson I do
With all 3 losses occurring in '89 and '90 making his tenure as Dolphin HC undefeated against the Cardinals.

He owed you NOTHING!
Yeah! It ain’t like he owed you any child support or anything! Or… did he??
Dan only made time for interns.
