Hi, When I add the gloves to scene, it always come with a body which I can hide it(not delete). And in Unreal ,the body data was still here. Can you talk me how to transmit the gloves data alone , or some ways join gloves data and other body data together?
Hi and thanks for reaching out! For this kind of questions, please reach out to our Support Team at support@rokoko.com. They will surely help you in no time!
I am looking into buying the gloves but I dont understand something. You mention that there is no magnetic sensor in the gloves, but then I now see that you have a solution with the Coil Pro where the smart gloves senses an EMF. Does that mean that there are two versions of the gloves and only the second one works with the coil?
Hi, thanks for asking. Yes, we understand how that's confusing. There actually is a magnetometer on the gloves, but we don't use it for the tracking. The reason we point that out is that magnetometers are prone to interference from metal etc., causing drift, and we want to point out that we don't see that here. However, as you point out, we do have a small EMF Coil on the hub of the gloves, creating a small, local magnetic field around the gloves that ensures absolute position (no drift) between fingers. If you add the Coil Pro (separate product), it will communicate with the Coil on the gloves and give each glove a position in space, so they can interact with each other and the world around them with absolute position and no global drift. If you also have a Smartsuit Pro, the gloves will also give the suit an absolute root position in the global space, so you have no global drift and can interact between multiple actors etc. Hope that made sense :)
My hope is that you'll add to the translation in space and include the upper arm and possibly shoulder in a limited % sense for VTubers that are interested in super high quality finger tracking.
The spread are really nice! Pn gloves cant do spreads! If I buy just the gloves can it be streamed to unreal live? Or can the finger data be recorded and exported as fbx as to be combined with other mocap data?
Yes, the spread (or splay as we call it) is really great! And yes, they work completely independently of the suit, but can be operated through Rokoko Studio in the same way. You just stream your data from Studio through our native plugins for Unreal (or Unity, Maya, Blender, MoBu). You can also record and export if you prefer that option. We included the "export mesh" option in Studio to help with the workflow in Unreal.

its perfect for me. I am deaf person and looking for the equipment like this. its looking good to me. Just one question to ask, can your fingers touch each other? E.G. left index finger touch to right index finger? And other example like clap?
Hi Andrew! You can definitely perform the moves you're asking about, but it probably won't be 100% 1:1 with your movements - in other words, sometimes you do need to slightly offset your fingers to get them to touch in the software, or offset your hands slightly if you are trying to perform a clap. We like to say that our suit will get you 90% of the way to a perfect performance, but you may need to clean up the mocap slightly to mirror your movements perfectly.
Yes, you are right. We could have put some more on that list, but it is basically all USB power banks that follow the specs that we write in the article. They will all work and give you around 6-8 hours of live per battery
@@ukmonk Yes, exactly. Preferably you'd want something relatively flat that can fit in the back pocket of the suit. But there are many ways you can make it work.
Hi Johannes - you can hold down CONTROL and hit L-SHIFT twice while hovering your mouse over the main view port to bring up a menu to enable / disable wrist lock - just search for "enable" and you should see "Enable glove_lockedWrist" which will turn it on and off. Hope that helps!
In this current version you need to roll the gloves up a bit (including the wrist sensor of course) to make them work well. In time, we will integrate the gloves directly with the suit when we ship so it's just one piece.
@@RokokoMotion thanks for the reply! i actually could fit the gloves fine over the sensor thats on the back on the hand on the suit, but is it ok to do that? it fits ok. You said roll the gloves up a bit, do you mean the sleeves please?
@@ukmonk Happy to help. Yes, I meant the sleeves of course, sorry :) Roll the sleeves from the suit up a bit (including the wrist sensor from the suit that isn't doing anything if you are using the gloves with the suit). It would make more sense to do it that way to get a better fit with the gloves. But of course totally up to you if you like the other solution :)
HERE IS HOW TO DO IT 🤓 - Open a scene. - Click the scene viewport and then while holding CTRL (or CMD ⌘ on Mac), double-tap Shift ⇧ to open the command window. - Click the "Enable glove_lockedwrist" command, which will allow you to move the Smartgloves in space.
Hello! Have you talked to our support team about this? They can give you a more in-depth analysis on the hardware and help you get it connected properly, if you reach out to them at support@rokoko.com
Definitely - the gloves are designed to be used either stand alone or with a mocap suit. We'll be releasing tutorials going over workflows for using them alone in UE4 / Unity as well as using them to animate hand data onto other pre-recorded mocap!
@@RokokoMotion Where is the tutorial mentioned above? Has it been produced? I'm also interested in sending only smart globe data(without a Rokoko Smartsuit) to Unreal Engine.
HI Kashif, at this point you either need one power bank with two USB outlets that you can connect both gloves to, or one for each gloves. Soon, we will ship all order of suit/gloves bundles assembled together, so you can use the battery from the suit to power the gloves too.
I Think I have found the Perfect (early) Christmas Gift for myself ;D
Thank you Rokoko. :D
How did you unlock the positioning of the gloves by themselves?

Has anybody found that mode? Thank you

Is there a particular study field or course I could sign up for to learn all about MoCap???
@3:29 This is great news... if you can update the body suit to NOT use magnetic sensors, it will be a GOD SEND.
You show the translation mode here but not how to switch to it? I've just received the gloves and can't seem to find where I can enable this mode.

Can I stream the smart gloves ONLY in Unreal Engine to existing animation? Thanks
Hello! If you are asking if you can stream to Unreal using the Smartgloves only, then yes.
So while other animation is running I can animate with Rokoko Smartgloves? Yes?
When I plug in my glove, there's no popup asking to configure. Nothing happens except a blue and red light on the glove
