Question: how did you make the transparent part of the astrodome? I would like to build a canopy replica of fighter jet, but i have no idea how to make the plexi-glass curved (i was thinking about heating it up and then work with it a bit)
The astrodome is an original. It’s entirely possible that it and canopies were made using vacuum forming. Keep in mind that older canopies are thinner layers that are glued together to make a thick surface. This process is called laminating. The glue that was used was perfectly transparent, however it turned yellow over time when exposed to the sun. This is why museum airplanes stored outside have their canopies painted.

Just found out that there is plastic model kit of the B-36 in 1/48 scale. That thing has to be huge!
