I showed my dad this performance bc he loves that 70s sound and he's all proud to see that Chicano Batman uses an original keyboard from the 70s. Arriba México!
Jennifer Vega when I first heard them it was the first thing I thought of. The music my parents would listen to. Got some Los terricolas sound and some pasteles verdes in there!
7y after the performance and I still have to go back to it. Laying on my brothers bed with him in Maui smoking a spliff and stumbling across this masterpiece. Absolute core memory thank you Dominic and thank you Chicano Batman.
+SSinthaNorthwest That was the first performance I saw of theirs on youtube a few months ago, it was love at first sight😍, I'm only bummed because I missed them in Oregon so I'm crossing my fingers that they get back on tour next year!
I love you guys so much @chicanobatman , your music makes me feel like I'm back in the barrio during the 90's on a Saturday morning and the grandparents are up cooking, cleaning the house, maybe drinking some cold ones blasting all their old tapes from their tiempo, Los Muecas, maybe some Freddys...uncles' outside polishing up the lowriders with the East Side Story bumpin... beautiful times if I do say so myself! Peace & love from the 661!
This band sounds so fucking tight live. In fact, I think they even sound more powerful live. Their recorded music I feel can be very light, if you understand. Not very heavy on actual bass in the songs, I find myself turning down the treble and the bass up when I listen to them, but live, it sounds like there's more than just four of them playing. I really like the additional background vocals on the new album as well.
I love how much they’ve grown since the last time they were on KEXP. I love Chican Batman and their live performances are amazingly better than before. Great job
Chicano Batman. You ever heard of a latino superhero? i love this band. Its like some surf rock aspects with this older genre from the 70s that was really popular in mexico. like romantic spanish music.
you HAVE to see them, they put on a great show! It's such a blast when they come to San Antonio bc their music goes so well with our culture here. They played El Sonidito as a second encore and the crowd was going insane! Every time i go the crowd gets better and better. I'm so happy that they're being recognized more. I've also had the pleasure of meeting Bardo and Eduardo and they are really sweet and humble people. Eduardo is an impeccable bassist, especially in Angel Child!
claudia saw them and met them in SXSW they played el sonito too it was so lit. Bardo gave me a cd after the show. Probably the coolest people I have met
Ramiro Mares my friend saw them for the first time at sxsw and he was blown away! i always told him about them and he just blew them off until now. Eduardo gave my friend a copy of his solo project on vinyl after the show in SA. My friend's band played right before them in Austin a few months ago and Eduardo remembered him and the band. It was really cool! Bardo and I also talked about Unknown Mortal Orchestra for a little bit, bc he was wearing their shirt and he remembered me from the last show lol. They're awesome people to talk to!
This music takes me back to my childhood when my parents used to play los Bukis or Solitarios. Dad would wash his car and mom would clean around the house.
The bassist is Mexican & his mom is from Michoacan, the lead singer is Mexican/Colombian (Jalisco/Cartagena), the guitarist is Mexican/Salvadorean, and the drummer is Colombian.
i just love the fact how it seems that they're playing around with the time signatures yknow it just hits the spot fuckin yea especially in la samoana, right off the bat

This guys are the reason my brown pride gets stronger and stronger on this heavy world. Gracias mis primos de Chicano Batman!!!
I can't be the only one that loves how that bassist dances 😂😂
Erick Plascencia soul power
YESS

Well... you're not, brother.
I do love how he plays and dances.
He truly feels the rhythm, that's why he also plays bass so amazingly good, I think.
