Great video Rob packed full of great advice.A sports series is a great idea as I find it fascinating how different lenses are required for different sports.

Your videos are amazing. I like the details. You never mention of Lindberg in your videos? You don’t recommend them?

They are great but just slightly overrated in my opinion. Same with Silhouette.

Would it be possible to have glasses that are
    1. Floatable
    2. Adaptive polarized/ brown lense
    3. Blue mirrored?

Are there any good options for eyewear at a waterpark? i.e. it will get wet, MAY be submerged with the wearer, can accommodate any Zeiss prescription lenses (let's take Photofusion Polarized as an example).
I'd like to take my family to a water park and participate, but there's no way I can function without sunglasses on a sunny day (if I had to pick between prescription and tint, I would pick a tint).

Definitely polarised adaptive sun lenses. It's obviously not good to submerge any glasses but my recommendation would possibly be a Reykjavik Eyes frame as they are titanium so won't corrode (I took mine in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland). Or look at the Dragon H2O series as they are designed for water and float.

Interesting vid. I so remember when my fave sunglasses got knocked off my face when I was sailing, and plopped into the water, never to be seen again. Would you say that glasses best for sailing would be the same as those for skiing?

Hi Gill, yes, usually there is a crossover between the two. Other than goggles which help more with the wind, sunglasses like I described in this video would probably be best for Skiing.

I Will work as a captain for three smaller passenger ships/ferrys in april. I have one more preferenser… I would like to find glasses that is not a mirror. To build trust among passengers I would like them to be able to see my eyes. Is that possible?

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Рік тому +1

Yeah! Adaptive Sun Polarised would be your best bet - super dark and protective outside in bright sun, but if you step inside the ship, or if the sun goes away, they will lighten up and you can still see. If you'd like a pair, email us hello@thespectaclefactory.com

What glasses were you recommending in this video, that includes all your recommendations?

    • @thespectaclefactory

Ready made? Or custom with prescription?

@@thespectaclefactory either, but preferably without a prescription. I have a prescription, but I can also wear contacts. Progressive prescription in sunglasses can be a bit disorienting because the lens are typically shaped. In addition to sailing I would like to wear them for tennis and paddle unless inappropriate. What make and model were you recommending in the vide that had a combination of progressive brown polarized lens with a blue reflective coating? It sounds like you were saying, Julbo, correct? But what model? Also, ideally also with a hydrophobic coating.

@@JohnHennessey The Waterman by Maui Jim configured with Blue Hawaii lens is pretty amazing - www.mauijim.com/GB/en_GB/shop/sunglasses/wrap/waterman?variantCode=H410-26M but all that is missing is the photochromic. I do think the best option would be to configure a Julbo (or alternative) frame with Zeiss Adaptive Sun Polarised + Blue mirror. Cost would be around £350 and they would be perfect. Would you like me to help you select a frame? If so please email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com

I don’t understand his accent. He says “These mumble sunglasses are a fantastic example of a good pair of fishing or sailing sunglasses”. Does anyone know what he is saying? Is he telling us the brand of glasses cause I’m super curious?
