That veg thali looks absolutely delicious. I love Okra. I call it Okra Winfrey! Yummy!! Love how you eat with your hands too ! Now that's authentic. I'll be trying this place out. Thali Ho ! Please continue to vlog Indian restaurants. Thank you for your posts. You're easy to watch.♥️😊

Okra Winfrey! 🤣 we love it too, especially when done Indian style. When we lived in Kerala, our Indian friends always told us that it tastes better eaten with your hand.🤚 and they were right. It’s a habit we continue in Canada when eating Indian food. Thanks for commenting and for the kind words. We’ve identified a few more Indian places in Vancouver that we want to try when we return.

In Vancouver and Canada in general, we have so many beautiful people from around the world nourishing us with the best of their traditions. Sometimes we need to stop for a moment and just appreciate how fortunate we are in this country. Thank you Laurel and Rob.

Wha an absolutely lovely thought. This really made our morning. We're so very grateful for the place in which we live and the people in our lives. So good to see someone else expressing gratitude as well. Thank you. 🙏♥️

Very authentic critiques by two Canadians who know about subtleties of Indian food and regional differences

@@MyKarur thank you for the kind words! We both have a deep love for India and Indian food (we were married there!) and we’re very happy to hear that our enthusiasm is seen as authentic. There are more and more really good South Indian places popping up now, so we’re looking forward to more great dining!

Hi there, I’m Judith, in the Alvin Garden review you two had mentioned to keep an eye out for a review of an Indian place. Wow this looks great. I’m definitely going to make it over there. Did they really not give a choice of the meat or veggies that would come with the thali’s? That’s some confident chef. I wonder if you can get it to go? I can’t remember if I mentioned it at the time, but I’ve really been enjoying getting takeout from KRSMA which is next-door to Alvin. Really good stuff and the bonus is a visit there means I can go to the SPCA thrift store.

@@telephono007 Hi Judith! Thanks for your comment. 🙏 the only choice you have is either veg or non-veg! That’s usually the way in a thali place. Perhaps you could ask for some customization, but we never thought to ask. You won’t be disappointed! More Indian places to come… ❤️

Indian food is truly incredible, and there is the traditional and ancient knowledge base for health and healing called Ayurveda which is still practiced in India today. Food is medicine!

Watching this video I have a typical vietnamese reaction : would be great to sprinkle those sauces over a bowl of rice ( Basmati rice I suppose ) , I imagine the indian fragrance from the spices .

And it IS great! 😊 thank you for all your fun comments on so many of our videos. It’s a little early for Tet, but happy new year!

@@Global_Feast Thank you . If you ever visit Vietnam again , come at Tet period because there are Tet specialties like sticky rice cakes you won't find at another time . That cake is thick and big , filled with pork and mung bean paste , to be eaten with some pickled onions .People will be nice with you because according to superstition their behaviour at Tet will influence their whole year.

Love south Indian food, love a good thali. In south India, it would be served on a banana leaf. In India, I often ate "Chinese Indian" - it was a good alternative to always eating Indian food after traveling there for many months and wanting something different. Veg chowmein was one of my favourites.

@@bethjay5225 we love it too, and after living in Kerala for the bulk of 2009 we know all about the banana leaf for rice meals! The food keeps on coming until you fold it in half and admit defeat… Kerala is our spiritual “second home”. ❤️

The menu looks really good! And the prices are reasonable too. We’re going to have to try it when we get back from Europe in the spring! Thanks for the tip!
