Agree totally..! So sick of nitpicking BS reviews on the SDR.. I have a 2015 with 40K miles and it still blows my mind. Finally someone that thinks the same way I do about this bike..
Amen to the KTM tribe (evil laugh out loud) :-)
I have a 2017 KTM 1290 SDR and think the bike is perfect. Comfort, performance, and style!
Cracking video. had my duke for 4 years now, best bike ever owned...👍
Thanks matey. Appreciate the support, feedback, and you taking the time to comment. Means a lot.
Picking up mine within a week. Keep up the videos
You won't be disappointed.
Did you get it?
Great video, got 2018 SDR and love it. Going to get suspension set up for myself 👍😆
Thank you for the support Mr SuperDuke.
Suspension is EVERYTHING! :-)
Got the 2019, best bike ive had! Suspension is horribly setup from the factory, got mine adjusted by a professional for 30 euro’s and the difference is remarkable. Your talking about getting a pc5, you could also just go to a ktm dealer and ask them to install the akra mapping. The map is setup for a exhaust without cat, k&n airfilter and you need to remove the SAS.
Hello Karel - thanks for taking the time to comment mate.
Yeah, first thing I did is adjust the suspension. I will give KTM a call on your recommendation and speak with them about the akra map. I have heard several comments about it and I already have the k^n airfilter.
Thank you for the heads up. This will be my Monday call first thing.
After a demo on an 890r which was great I thought I'd better try the superduke too..
Loved it and got the deposit down straight away.. Just waiting for the call to pick it up..
Congratulations my friend!
Got the 2019 and can’t see past it! Have spent on it and shed weight. Track performance pack added.
Thanks for the support
Great vid mate 👍🏼👌🏼 keep them coming 🙏🏼
Thanks for the support Gary mate. Top man :-)
Awesome bike💪🏻👍🏻 i just bought one myself a 2017 i cant get enough of thus bike what a freekin powerhouse
183bhp with the full akra and 6 kg less weight.
My 2017 looks same as yours only with full Akra, track pack etc. Heated grips also which were extra, they also have illuminated switches which the 2020 version doesent. I am 5 ft 7 but bike lowered quarter of inch it’s perfect no problems For me also best bike I have ever ridden. Bought after selling my 2015 version but still hate the look of the 2020 bike so won’t be changing.
Hi John, just curious when you say yours is lowered, was that a kit or rear suspension plate fitted ? Cheers Dave
Ride safe mate.
@@daveb2809 Hi Dave, The forks were bought up about quarter of an inch and rear spring adjusted same also.
This is a great video man!! This is my dream bike, and i may be able to get one this year(as a first bike) I know i know it will kill me :)). Can you please make a demo on how the different power mods work? For ex, acceleration on Rain mode, sport mode etc? I searched alot on youtube but nobody is actually interested in that. I don't really like high speeds so i imagine i can hold my right wrist calm. The question: is it too wild on the lowest power setting for a beginner? I will try to ride one before buying it but i would love to get your opinion. All the best!
Thank you for the comment mate and the support. Means a lot :-)
And I will do a video on the different modes for you, for sure.
This is not a beginners bike because of the torque available instantly. It will also make you feel "scared" because you know in the back of your mind you shouldn't be on it.
With that said, I know you are going to buy one :-) I have used the rain mode, which does dull down the bhp but it is still savage.
What people don't understand is riding a motorbike is nothing like a car. Being in the right gear going around corners, body position, trail braking, to mention just a few things. If you do buy this bike, book a track day because that is where you will learn how to ride.
I will make a video specifically for you my man. Stay tuned.
@@stickyelephant6027 I've been riding small bikes since 13 and also my 600c friends bikes lately, but never owned a big bike (over 400) i know this is another lvl but since it came out it was like a dream bike poster in my room :)).
Also youre right, it scares me only thinking at that power so that's why i was wondering about the rain mode. Thanks alot for taking the time to respond man! Looking farward for the video. Stay safe!
@@Itsokdudee I will do a whole video on this topic mate. I think it maybe will helps others and maybe yourself.
Ride safe bro
itsokdude ..... never had mine out of sport mode, I'm going to stick it in rain mode and see 😀...
the sdr is the best bike I've ever owned, it's comfy, fast and agile, but it goes very quick effortlessly so can get you in trouble before you know it. if you get one, and you should, please take it easy for a bit 😀
Just found this. Not sure if you're still doing content but liked & Subbed ✅
Love my sdr 😁👍🏼
Well said on everything , quick question though , have you got heated grips turned on with the performance pack ?
Subbed 👍🏼
They are a bit special and fun. For sure!
I haven't got the performance pack on this yet bud. This is the 2017 version and I found I can just turn off the TC and wheelie.
Let me know if I can answer any more questions and ride safe :-)
@@stickyelephant6027 yeah I swapped my z1000sx for a 2019 sdr last year and I’m in love with it, just like you, I had never ridden a twin until I swung a leg over one of these, then it was OMFG 😍😍
I’ve got the performance pack but not the track pack , just waiting very impatiently now to get out and ride.
I live in the high peak Derbyshire and it’s still been to bloody cold up here , only managed 2 rides this year , forecast is looking good for this weekend 👍🏼
my performance pack included: ktm my ride, MSR and quickshifter enabled, my heated grips were an extra add on...😀
Only suggestion is please start the bike up. Would’ve love to hear it rev up
does this come with autoblipper? clutchless downshift
Superdukes rule!!
Yes they do. I can't see myself at this stage having another bike, EVER! lol
Thanks for the support MPH86
I'm really considering to get one of these. In terms of price, they're becoming a bit more affordable nowadays. Just wondering if I should save up a bit more and get a gen 3, but I think the gen 2 is almost as good for, a few thousand euro's less. Have you compared it to the gen 3?
I haven't compared it to the gen 3. For how much I paid for this gen 2, it was a no brainer for me personally.
Also worth noting that the fuel tank is substantially smaller on the Gen 3.
I hope that's helpful Bart.
Loving the colour of that chap........but didn't the rc8 come first? roll on summer
You could be right their Dave :-)
Beautiful location, a shame to see all the littler and junk. 😢
if you buy the fork kit you will use 1290 on track instead!
Will do. Thanks for the heads up.
you had me at waffle shit.
👍👍👍
👍🏻
Lot of waffle lol = subscribed
just ride the damn thing
what a dirty place to show your ktm all those dirty tissues 🤧
OK - 😂
The moment you blasphemed (over a stupid bike!!!!) I left your review....
OK
Here’s the hook 🪝 with KTM I probably won’t buy one. There’s just too many good options out there that aren’t gonna double charge me for the electronic wizardry KTM can kiss my ass.
In reality the 2.0 has very few electronic problems... almost none.
