Agreed. I don't like how she's acting right now, but I fully understand that she's not in a good place mentally. That can make you do crazy things. I also think that she is the kind of person who craves love, just like Maddie mentioned, so when Nate gave that attention to her, she got a feel of that love that she wants, and it unfortunately makes her ignore the bad stuff. I would love for her to get stronger and stronger this season, but I guess we will see what happens!

For context Rue was so nervous for some reason that Elliot would blurt out IN SCHOOL that they met doing drugs and almost OD'd that she made it seem like as if she cheated on Jules already with Elliot or liked hm because she could have said.. literally ANYTHING else lmao. She "doesn't remember" meeting him, was giving weird looks while kissing her and didn't hear her say she loves her, said introductions are really hard and "debilitating" for her and then she blurted out randomly that Jules is her gf instead of introducing her like "This is my girlfriend Jules, Jules this is Elliot. He's my friend, we met the other day on New Years before I saw you that night, he actually let you take his seat so we could talk." and when Elliot was like "Oh, I didn't know you were.." he MEANT gay/into women but Jules, already sketched out asked "In a relationship?" to see what Elliot would say or how he would react and he didn't say anything/correct her. Understandably, if I were Jules and my already rocky relationship just reignited and THIS painfully awkward introduction happened, I'd cry too lmaooo. I'd cry for less honestly, but yeah I'd cry. Rue 100% made it look like she at least had a crush on Elliot and so did Elliot vise versa. Plus if you remember in Jules' special episode, she admitted she has a hard time that anyone could love her, ESPECIALLY Rue, she thinks that's impossible so I imagine there's so much self doubt in this mix too. On top of it all she's 17 and I can't even tell you how much I cried at 17 haha.

He could be seen blinking his eyes repeatedly as he drove Cassie to the New Year’s Eve party. Fez’s beat down no doubt compounded his brain damage issues.

I think her character is just suppose to be, like, that one friend that’s apart of the squad, but still has their own separate life away from them. Which I do like, I feel like it’s realistic and adds more depth to the show, and their friend group dynamic. But I hope she gets her own episode at some point, Sophia Rose Wilson is dope.

Rue’s relationship with Elliot will lead no where good. He not only accepts her drug use, he enables it. This relationship might seem perfect to Rue but ultimately it will lead to a lot of pain and trauma.

i think people have forgotten that rue is bipolar and when she tells elliot that he’s her new favorite person. that’s accurate with people who have bpd & they get really starched to that person. i believe that’s who jules was for her in the first season. which is why it almost killed her. mental illness is so real.

I’ve been watching a lot of different reactors react to the Euphoria ep’s coming out, and I have to say your’s is by far my favorite! I was hoping and waiting for ur guys’ video, but appreciate the effort and time Bc i really do think u guys clip (and censor) the episodes the best, and I also love the summary of the last episode @ the beginning and then ur afterthoughts of the ep. u just watched @ the end. i found you guys w/ the 1st ep. of szn two and I really liked Rob, he seems very smart and just like a great guy

I died when you guys were just saying how much you love Rue and Elliott or Rue and Jules, then Rob chimed in with "they're gonna die"
Nate is obviously stringing Maddie along, he feels nothing towards her. I don’t believe the theory that he actually wants Jules, Euphoria is very upfront about what’s what. He might struggle with how he did give a part of himself to Jules and was probably attracted when he was catfishing her, but Jules was just a means to an end and he doesn’t hesitate to hurt her in any way. Cassie, however, he idealizes and wants to be with-he thinks he’s in love, and she fulfills everything he finds attractive naturally (including things about her character that are at her detriment), but he sees her in his own idealized, skewed vision. The Nate and Cassie relationship is going to show another version of an abusive relationship; whereas Nate and Maddie pushed and pulled at each other in a toxic way, there’s likely going to be a more prominent power imbalance between Nate and Cassie where he towers over her. Cassie is consciously making stupid choices that can’t be excused but she is his perfect victim because of her currently very fucked up mental state and Nate is taking advantage of that. He feels comfortable with her and feels he’s in love with her because she’s a very accepting person to someone she’s infatuated with, and would probably enable him to act how he wants (despite him talking about “wanting to be a better guy and father than his dad” in his fantasy world since he slept with Cassie) because she doesn’t truly know how to stand up for herself. She doesn’t truly know her self worth yet. However, he tells her he can’t be with her because he needs their relationship to be a secret till he gets the CD back from Maddie. He baits Cassie enough to keep her close because he DOES want her, and he manipulates her with guilt and shame (Maddie) when convenient to keep her complacent and quiet.
Yup I think what he likes the most about Cassie is how easy she is. She doesn’t have a backbone. I think he was testing her when they were speeding in the first episode. He knows he has no limits since she will to accept any attention.
Yes...Cassie is vulnerable and passive he can control her without getting all the sass that Maddie throws in his face. On the other hand he could be using Cassie to get the video back from Maddie! Kind of how he seduced Julez to get close enough to threaten her.
I think his thing with jules might be him struggling w his sexuality after all his dad trauma. Seeing those videos of his dad like that when he was so young...you just know it fucked him up. So the thing and fascination with jules was maybe his way w dealing w his dad's shit (especially since she was in his class and everything and he knew his dad had slept w her at the motel)

He liquoured her up with beer. She’s a mess and of course at fault but Nate pretty much sized her up as easy prey and now he’s simply manipulating and using her for his own purposes.

What I'm thinking is Nate has feelings / is attracted to Jules and he's became obsessed with Cassie as a replacement of Jules. That's why we see Jules in the flashes of his fantasy of Cassie. Jules in season 1 also fit his life of the "perfect female" and what makes a girl ideal in his eyes. I also think him getting beat up may have legit caused brain damage that like amplified his feelings for Cassie since he was with her that night.
Same here! Jules is everything that Rue describes he likes in a woman in S1, and he formed a connection with her while catfishing her. I think Cassie is a form of escapism fr.
I think Jules represents a lot of his issues with his Dad. I think he did enjoy talking and really opened up to Jules as Tyler. The real thing is Nate never loved Maddy. However I think the fandom been reading too much bully to lovers fan fiction. From a lot of the spoilers he genuinely cares for Cassie and they end up together.

i don’t think rue would fall for elliot romantically as she identifies as a lesbian. i think elliot’s role is basically the new best friend she can be self destructive with because now jules has moved from bestie to her girlfriend. and jules wants her to be sober so of course rue is gonna hide that shit from her in order to keep doing what she’s doing. she likes elliot bc he encourages her behavior and does it with her because he’s also an addict that has self destructive tendencies. i wouldn’t be surprised it elliot falls for rue though, you can tell he enjoys having a drug buddy to get fucked up with whenever they’re bored or want to cope with their lives. i love these 2 together a lot but more in a platonic way, i don’t see them romantically as even if rue was bisexual, they’d only kill each other with their substance abuse until one of them goes first as fucked as that sounds :/

I think t's funny that the only power Nate has over his father and really HAS ever had over him is his lack of power in general. Like he's in the worst place possible yet he has the most power he's ever had over his father
With Nate, nothing he does is ever just random. He is so calculating and manipulative, he didn’t bring Cassie out to that construction sight away from their town for no reason. He took her there because she had no choice but to stay with him in the car the entire way back, she had nowhere to go. In my opinion he was testing how much she’s devoted to him so that he can know for sure how much he’s now going to be able to use her for his own gain.
I think Cassie run after he said that. Because she knows he likes to chase woman and feel like he overpowers them.

this was an excellent episode about self delusion!! what nate should want (white picket fence and a family) but being repulsed by his own family/dad aka what should have been his blue print for his future.
hopefully nate can use this as an opportunity for self growth but i think the theory that euphoria is a modern romeo and juliet retelling is right. i think hes supposed to be mercutio and his perspective will be unimportant after this because after tybalt and mercutio fight that starts the blood feud between the capulets,/their allies and the montagues/their allies.
the fight between fezco and nate was about fezco warning nate not to fuck with his family. and he was taught by his grandma sometimes violence is needed to stop abuse.
