This was definitely one of my favorite runs of AGDQ. Stinger was really ill that morning/during this run and still powered through the run. He ended up having a ridiculously strong performance, and they PB'd! Stinger is the MVP of the marathon for me.
I love the music in this game. Specifically the boss battle music. It sort of gives a tone to the emotion you're probably feeling while fighting the boss... but I guess that sort of goes for every other song in the game too. It really is a great game. I think I'll play it again over spring break.

Man, I must've spent twice the game's price renting this game when I was a kid. Somehow, I don't regret it. Compared to DLC-BS these days, the extra cash was worth every penny. The gameplay, the story, the characters, the writing and the music are one synchronous gesamtkunstwerk.

I think MechaRichter needs more love for all the hard work he puts into those perlers. They're gorgeous, and he does so many of them I can't imagine the time it must take.

OMG Elinee's early castle against Spikey the tiger... I remember when I was a tame innocent 7 yr old boy. Something happened while playing that I've never done before in gaming -- I threw a profanity at my TV screen. I've never been the same since. What were the DAMN developers thinking!? You put one of the hardest bosses as only the 3rd boss in the game!? My Squaresoft strategy guide was useless, because listed in the boss's weakness was "none." Meanwhile, I'm looking at all the other bosses in the guide and they ALL have weaknesses! WTF!? It's also not fair you only get two characters to fight him with as opposed to all the other bosses you have three. And keep in mind this was before the Internet. With nowhere to turn to, I cried a lot. For the longest time, I quit playing because he was too hard. Eventually I came back to it a year later with a clearer mind, a few more deaths later, and I eventually beat him. I remember laughing at how pathetically easy the rest of the game was, in comparison. To this day, I would still put Spikey the tiger as one of the top 10 toughest bosses in video gaming.

As I suspected, there are some *minor* glitches possible with money, items, and weapons, but the game itself is pretty air-tight. It still takes nearly three hours to beat, and there aren't any major sequence breaks. A well-made game!
damn!! That money glitch at 20:45! Well thats answered my question of how you're gonna get through the game without dying! THat much money makes it easy to get the best weapons and armour. Im am glad i didnt know about this glitch cause it would have seriously rined the enjoyment of this great game. I am completely happy to see it in a speedrun though thats no problem! but for a casual playthrough its not a good idea.

Ghost81 nah, actually I remember a good strategy to keep them from multiplying is to have 2 other monsters on screen with them, thus they can't multiply.
Im with you brother, these jack asses think glitching your way through a game equals beating it which is objectively a lie. If this is beating the game then using game genie to skip to the credit counts too.
F Cole yes, youre right but that would be another categorie like cheating% ^^ However, cheating implying that you write down a cheatcode or use something like gamegenie. ofc this isnt easy to understand..^^
+Heilige Wurst i feel the same, but if you play the game as much as they do... you get bored of it... it takes a lot of time for them to find those glitches, it gives you an idea of the amount of time they spent on the game.
textera147 sure thing its a time eating process, but once someone found it, everybody else just copys it and from there on, its only a lil bit of practice... either way, its IMHO cheating ;) but i would be more impressed, if they just rushed through and optimizes they pathways etc (and of cource kill the endbosses with low-level or without damage spells (maybe supportive can be done!)
i think there are Cheat / glitched Speed run and then Legit speed run also in mario games there is tiny mario / no star speed run so in this game is in the glitched speed run

NO How bout i just give you a beat the game button. Or what if i provide some save states so you can just turn the game on, hit f4, and go strait to the credits. Two and a half hours? I've spent that in the rabbit area at the start of the game alone trying to grind so the bosses would be easy for awhile.

in Legend of zelda there are 100% speedrun with every item and there is Glitched speed run
