The first time I heard him was on the radio. I couldn't stop listening to him, because he was so hilarious, that a shop I needed to go to was closed by the time I stopped listening. A unique talent. Greatly missed.
I have "The World According to Me" memorized! That's how many times I've listened to it! He was hilarious. I grew up in a half Italian half Jewish neighborhood in the Bronx and my best friends were Jewish and I picked up all the Yiddish expressions! Even learned some Hebrew! Love you Jackie!
Hiya from England. I used to watch Jackie on TV back in the 80's at the Palladium even before 1999. I think he appeared on stage in the 80's as well. He was so funny i had belly ache A true one off entertainer the likes we will never see again. RIP Jackie
I adored him and will keep adoring him. He picked on everyone but made certain that respect became part of his act. If he faltered, I never saw or heard it. Im a Christian and I never could get enough of his humor. RIP, you wonderful man!
The greatest comedian of them all. Saw him in London in the late 80s. The audience was laughing so much and so loudly it wasn't always possible to hear all the routine.
Saw him at a casino in Atlantic City many years ago, in the 80’s. I was front and center and I was hysterical laughing. Tears running down my cheeks, my face hurt, I couldn’t breathe. He points to me and says, you really like this stuff huh? Yes Jackie, I really do. Underrated, pure funny. Love Jackie Mason. ❤️
I had an experience like this around this time while watching George Carlin on a late night tv show mocking country music in a routine that contained him racing through actual song titles like, I'LL NEVER FORGET OLD WHAT'S HIS NAME, IF YOUR PHONE DOESN'T RING, IT'S ME; SHE GOT THE THE GOLD MINE AND I GOT THE SHAFT; YOUR RIGHT, I'M LEFT, SHE'S GONE; THE NEXT TIME YOU SEE ME I'LL BE GONE; I FORGOT TO REMEMBER TO FORGET, ETC., ALONG WITH DOZENS OF OTHERS HE HAD OBVIOUSLY MADE UP. I LAUGHED SO HARD I STARTED HYPERVENTILATING AND FELL OFF THE SOFA AND CRAWLED AWAY INTO A NEARBY WALK-IN CLOSET SO I COULDN'T HEAR THE TV, AS MY ROOMMATE AT THE TIME WAS WATCHING, OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE TURNED THE T.V. OFF. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE LAUGHING, AS HAS HAPPENED IN DOCUMENTED CASES, SUCH AS A 13TH CENTURY ITALIAN VIRTUOSO VIOLINIST WHO DIED LAUGHING WATCHING A MONKEY TRYING TO PUT ON A PAIR OF BOOTS.
Jackie was the ultra in comedy , loved every minute of his humour , may his dear soul rest in everlasting peace , his humour and unique character will surely live on in generations to come !
July 25h 2021 and it has been reported that Jackie has died aged 93. I laughed until I cried each time I saw him live. One of the greatest stand up comedians whose timing was second to none.
My boss now passed away turned me on to this Comedian. Thank you Dr. Bert Green. We laughed and laughed at him and life in general. Thanks Doc for the fun memories. It was my great joy knowing you and this wonderful a Comedian Jackie Mason! 💜 Kathy Barrow
Who came here as a result of news of Jackie’s passing? I sure did. I remember him from when I was a very little kid. I didn’t understand him but he was so funny.
While I heard him a few time. I really like him and never really paid much attention. And when I heard he pass a way. I remembered that faces. I didn't know his name. I love his style.
When I was a teenager , I learned his jokes by listening to his voice and jokes for hours on end. One day my family went to a hotel in the Catskills. As I was sitting poolside Jackie Mason came to a lounge chair near me. And I started to repeat a joke from the record. I Asked him in his Jewish accent why Are those people in the pool talking about me? He asked me what do you mean? And I answered that I always think people are talking about about me just like you said on your recording that you never go to a football game? Why? You said because when the players go in to a huddle you think they are talking about you.😅. Then he asked me where I heard it. And I got to tell him that I memorized his entire recording. To this sat at age 83 I can still remember the entire recording and his he said to me hey kid, you’re a good communicator and comedian to be too.😮. 30 years later he was in Las Vegas when I was a guest there with my wife. We met again after his show. Hey he still is the best hamisher guy I ever met.
I saw this show and we were actually crying tears of laughter. He reminded me so much of all the wonderful Jewish folk I grew up with in London's East End. Best humour in the world!
To me one of the greatest comedians ever. Honest, true everyday comedy. Brilliant. Unfortunately a lost generation as no-one is coming up behind them and no-one to take their place. Joan Rivers has gone and no-one has stepped up. Once Jackie Mason goes that old comedy will be gone. So sad.
This has to be one of the funniest comic routines in history. Pass it around. Perfect for right now while we're trying to laugh while the virus runs wild.
Everytime I watch another of his videos I say to myself: "God, what a genius." COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY. Theodore Roosevelt So true. But there has never been a comedian wittier or more entertaining than the legendary Mr. Jackie Mason. (Milton Moore, a long-time admirer, born and raised in Dallas, Texas, now residing in Las Vegas, Nevada.)
My mother and I saw Jackie Mason perform live...we came to the theater with our make-up on. After Jackie's performance, we left without our make-up on...that's how funny he was!!!
Absolutely brilliant. His sense of timing, his gestures, and inciteful, often cutting, wit were unique. Even though he repeated many of his jokes and stories, they were still funny every time. His was the best Jewish humour you could hear. RIP.
I would have said intense study and repetition, being a great comedian. It's an art form for guys like Mason. He doesn't convey the joke so much as conduct the audience, with orchestral precision & with utmost respect for the music of their reactions.

Jackie is the greatest because he did it the hard way....clean. His rapport with the audience was second to none because he laughed with them at, pomposity, pretension and hubris.
He was one of the best, a genuinely funny man who wrote his own material. He died in 2021 aged 93. His father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all Orthodox Jewish rabbis.
I used to study at a Starbucks near Columbus Circle in NYC. Mason's manager struck up a conversation with me as I was trying to study. Jackie came over and berated him (humorously) for interrupting me when I was obviously busy. A thoughtful and down to earth guy.
I'll bet a hundred dollars Jackie Mason is rather quite at home and socializing. Why? Because he reminds me of an analyzer, someone who watches others, listens, follows the narrative and comes to insulting, but funny conclusions. He reminds me of a quality control technician and I love it. Thanks for the vid Archy. Great to see the Rabbi again.

The greatest comedian of them all. Saw him in London in the late 80s. The audience was laughing so much and so loudly it wasn't always possible to hear all the routine.
I watched this tonight in my hotel room in tangier and had to smother my laughter to not upset guests down the corridor! Great comedian!

That's why it's like music. The jokes never change but the rhythm of the jokes makes you feel good.
As someone who is still considered young I must be an old soul or something because I can’t help but laugh thanks to this legend 😂😂

I watched a Jackie Mason video just today when he said the F word several times.
