I really enjoyed your video, you have lots of unique stylistic touches that make your skating very original and fun to watch. Your Toe/Toe and heel/heel work is brilliant. You are fortunate to be so light! You bring in a lot of wizard skating moves (gazelles, three turns, even toe roll assisted three turns which are a favourite of mine.... Where do you skate? I'm going to Strat watching your videos to get clues. Keep going, youre a talent. If I could pass one one technical piece of feedback (after 20 years teaching), I'd recommend you try to keep your head and chest more upright, looking at the horizon and max 30 degrees hinge at the hips on jump landing, but just more upright in general. Let most of the sinking happen in the knees and not the hips and core collapsing. See what happens. I'm curious. Your skates and feet are pretty much perfect! Way to go.
Ahh, thank you so much Asha! I really, really appreciate the lovely words!! I hear about you a lot from Barry actually (we occasionally skate together and he gives me some good tips as well, we live really close to each other!). And yes, I do tend to slouch a bit and when I do remember to stay more upright whatever move I'm doing ends up being a lot easier so I must work on that still! Keep doing what you're doing too. Skate Fresh sounds amazing and I must come to one of the big London skate sessions soon!
Wayy too many timestamps to list all of my favorite lines. 1:45 that inside edge was KILLER 2:04 has to be my favorite gazelle line from you! So smooth 2:20 double heel after, so classic! I've had to take a break from Wizarding due to alot going on. You're videos help TREMENDOUSLY. keep it rollin' bro
Ahh, thanks so much! The 1:45 move was actually a very recent one and it took too many tries to get right. A lot of counter rotation issues haha. I appreciate the kinds words! And hopefully you're able to get back on the blades soon! I'm in a similar boat too, lost a bit of inspiration to get out recently and felt a bit stagnant but hey ho.
That is some of the nicest skating that I've seen. That's really inspirational and makes want to get out and start trying to do some of that. I have just ordered a Seba CJ boot and am trying to decide what Wizard frame to get. How do you like the pr80 vs the nr110? You make the nr110 look very manoeuvrable but the pr80 seems to be a little more so. How does the pr80 handle rough ground vs the nr110. Anyway, that's me subscribed. Please keep posting content. You're awesome.
Ahh thanks so much! That means a lot :) I prefer the PR80s by quite some distance, very manueverable and really fun. The 110s are definitely better on rough ground but they take a lot of getting used to. They're quite hard to skate at first and if you're new to flatland/wizarding definitely the pr80s are the way to go!!
They are incredibly solid! Though I've been trying the NN 5x90s recently and they're also pretty decent.. NN could be a good alternative seeing as Wizzers are rarely in stock... though, be prepared to pay a massive random import charge lol
@@ThatShaunBoy yeah wizards are just never available when I actually have the money 😂. Roka skating frames look good as well. I won a contest so I've even got a second pair of CJs!
Very nice! Do you have any advice on how to rotate wheels on 4 wheel wizards. I just flipped the wheels and did a one-to-one rotation on each skate. After a couple rotations the rocker is very pronounced. Maybe too pronounced.
You'll want to swap 1-3 2-4 every session to keep the rocker balanced as it was when you started. Indeed doing a 1-1 will only make it less and less stable.
Yeah, I just do what you do and I don't mind that the rocker gets more severe. I actually quite like it that way. In fact I'm even more lazy in that I just unscrew the whole frame and swap it over rather than swap the wheels haha
@@adamzocchi In all the years I've skated I've never swapped wheels round like this. I know that's the proper way but I just have just always just swapped the frames over. I just slowly get used to a gradually more and more severe rocker haha
@@ThatShaunBoy now that I reread what I advised... I should have reworded/added this... You can swap straight to make the rocker more intense. But I'd suggest actually playing around with how many sessions you can go with a straight swap until it feels like too much... then revert back to the 1-3 2-4 swap. As well as not having to flip the wheels sometimes if you do certain slides more often than other tricks that may make it so that you won't have to flip the wheels either. I.e. when I do alot of acid slide type tricks within a session. Sometimes it best to do a 1-1 straight swap, with also flipping the wheels cause the outside wore out faster instead of the usual inside edge. Also, I noticed another thing with a straight swap. For my style of skating, I typically wear out my rear wheels more than the front. So for my 5 wheel rotation: 1-4 , 2-5.... 3 ALWAYS stays in the middle. Ive given them all a try, this is jusy what works best for my style of skating. I like alot of jumping, and the more stability the better, especially in these already-rockered setups! Thank you all for the chat, I can talk about rotating wheels for days... 🤣
@@adamzocchi interesting regarding the 5 wheel swapping and makes sense if you want a more stable base for jumps etc. And I'm the same in that my back wheels wears a lot quicker and with the amount of toe rolls I do on my right foot means that one in particularly goes first too. Always worried about swapping them the proper way in case they go slightly anti for a bit, god forbid lol
NR100 vs PR80....which is your fav and why? I have the NR100 and NR110....considering the PR80 or the new Advanced frames. :Please let me know your personal thoughts/recommendations. Also, thoughts on the wheels you are using. I've only used Matter. thanks!
Hey hey, I really, really love the PR80s! I like the NR100s, they're fun and cruisey but for this sort of thing the PR80s are perfect (imo). I have the Advanced frames as well, but I'm struggling to get into them to be honest. I'm sure it'll click at some point but if I'm honest with myself, I prefer the PR80s still. This opinion might change though! As to why, the PRs are probably the exact length that I like, long but not Advanced long, so they feel stable without feeling clumsy (but obviously very nimble due to the rocker and wheel sizing). Wheels, I've always skated Undercover. These are the bullet profile Team wheels and I like them a lot (I buy these ones all the time to be fair so I haven't really tested any others properly)
@@ThatShaunBoy Thank you very much for the honest response. Baseds on foot sizing, Wiard is recommend the 78 mm vs ther 80 mm. Think there is a difference?
@@ThatShaunBoy I've seen several Advanced frame videos and they seem to be the same.....like the frame for spinning, etc. buit not to strolling through the city/urban type skating. I just wanted to ensure I would use the smaller wheeled framesd. Have you tried the Hyper skates from Adapt Brand? Amzing and highest of quality!!
@@rcorser1 so in this video I’m skating the eu42 shell and have since sized down to the carbon 41 shell so I think I’m in between the 80mm and 76mm frame recommendations? It more comes down to personal preference really. I like a slightly longer frame BUT I would really want to try the 76s as I think they’re probably even more swivelly and nimble which would be so much fun. As for city skating, I probably wouldn’t use the PRs either. I’d swap back to my 100s or 110s. The 80s work fine but they’re specialised for flatland moves so I tend to keep them for that. Saying that, I rarely do city/urban skating but if I did then I’d prefer the bigger wheel as the ground where I live isn’t great! I haven’t tried the Hyper skates, they look incredible! I would like to give them ago but as I say, I don’t really do any urban type skating so I just wouldn’t ever use them for what they’re designed for. I like their aggressive skates though!
I dunno why but when I see too tall people doing wizard moves not look smooth as short people maybe is just my impression dunno why for me dont look the same smooth & finest like moves as short, anyway. Great skill and nice skating😊
