General Greivous is definitly gonna be my favorite, Madam Masque is my favorite of Marvel and Scar is a close second to Gothel so killing heros is very fun for me
Out of all of these characters Kylo definitely has one of the most brutal fate decks. I really love all of his effects to gain so much Ambition and manipulate both decks. And I love his playing piece so much. He is definitely becoming my favorite.
Kylo was the one I was the most worried about, as I felt a major part of the New Trilogy was that we didn't really know what Kylo's personal objective was throughout the entirety of it. This tug of war seems surprisingly thematic and simple at the same time! (*cough* they finally worked out what they were trying to do with Gaston *cough*)
Rey is easily the most broken card I've ever encountered in this game. Even if you opponent goes into a real life coma, you may not have enough time to win as Kylo Ren before they recover.
I am so excited for star wars villainous. I have been a fan of Disney Villainous but I've never been able to get my friends to get into it but they're all really big star wars fans so hopefully this works because villainous is an amazingly fun strategic game
I'm loving these reviews you are doing a great work! I'm so hyped for this game I like how they have go a little further in the design of some villains, implementing their own tokens. After playing a lot of the base game Disney Villanous I felt like apart from Prince John the other five depend a lot into going through your deck until you have the card(s) that you need. Kylo Ren is probably the villain I'm more hype about. His mechanic about dark and light side is so in theme.
For Heart and Strength, once Rey is defeated, what happens to the Restriction? Is Kylo still not allowed move destiny tokens to the Dark Side. Or does the effect come back if Rey is put back into play if the Restriction isn't resolved?
@@chrisfoti6984 well the card doesnt say to discard when Rey is defeated. It does say to discard when you pay the ambition. And it does say when Rey is in play destiny tokens cannot shift. Pretty clear to me 👍🏽
@@LordoftheBoard right, we just thought it was odd having the Restriction still in play when Rey was defeated, but this definitely makes sense. Thanks! Great videos!
It is my favorite version. 🥹 most balanced 2 player experience the game has seen. And it’s fun! Art is awesome too. Would love to play with you on stream or something?
I'll be honest, as excited to finally play (I scored the last copy my Target had lol), I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the piece aesthetics, specifically Grievous lol Also, I feel like Cad Bane would have been an amazing addition to the game, and I am hoping we get an expansion that is either all Bounty Hunters (Cad included) or the classic Sith Lords. It could be damn awesome to see Darth Bane and be able to drop a card called The Rule of Two lol
THANK YOI FOR ALL OF THESE VIDEOS. I am a huge fan of disney and marvel villainous. But now with star wars, this game is incredible. Even tho star wars villainous didn't even come out yet, I would like oogie boogie and shere khan in the next disney villainous. Who would you want?
Played Kylo and almost won a few times in a game. Only lost because I was trying not to signal super hard that I would win on my next turn and forgot to use my fate action.
So, I know I am late, but I just started and Kylo feels like "trash your hand until snoke, use your ambition each turn to move to the dark side, hope no one sees you." Am I missing something, because Kylo doesn't seem to care about his deck at all, save for snoke.
@@LordoftheBoard Very interesting take! So if she did become a villain what do you think her objective would be? Its been so long since I’ve seen the sequels so I don’t really remember her purpose. 😂
@@jaxx4330 I would like to see her do missions - like a bounty hunter with the new mission system! That would be sick. Getting Finn and rose to a certain location. Loading up Stormtrooper’s in a certain location. Idk lots of cool stuff. But I see her as a multitask mission type villain.. also I just thought of this but she may appear in a Hux deck
Does anyone know the rule about how many ambition cards with a cost of 0 you can play per turn? All my tokens got sent to the light side TWICE in one game and I still won… I’m wondering if it’s possible to play as many “free” cards as I want per turn? Thanks!! 😅
Well.. it s litterally written in the rules dude. 1 action : 1 card. One credit card, one ambition card, only one enemy to kill, 1 card to move.. And yes, the Skoke effect cost 1 ambition point, but use your ambition action. So you can’t play other ambition card if you do the snoke effect. Only contract effect can use ambition effect and can use an ambition card in the same turn like boba or ventress.
Do you have any more specific advice there. It's obviously very difficult to prevent her from coming out at some point and the Restriction lets the opponents use her again. You can leave her on the board, but "controlling her" seems like a stretch.
Kylo Ren is easily the weakest and least fun character I have ever played in Villainous. His Fate deck absolutely crushes him and the Rey/Heart and Strength combo is essentially insurmountable unless you're playing against a glacier, even if you have Snoke on the field for the entire game. Today my girlfriend and I learned that even if Rey is already in play and Heart and Strength is played, the opponent gets to "play" Rey again, essentially doubling her already broken effect, so even if you don't defeat her so she doesn't go back into the discard pile, she can still totally derail Kylo's progress. I've never seen anyone play this character that didn't want to give up on the entire game by the end.
Sounds like you are misunderstanding some rules. I just got back from Gencon and Kylo was winning games. I just watched the Watch it played channel and Kylo won that game too. Idk what to tell you. There is a group of people on the villainous discord that actually think Kylo is too strong. 🤔
The fates are rough however I found it best not to vanquish Rey or Leia. Less of a chance for them to be used again in the fate deck so you can focus on going to the dark side. Yes they block part of your board but Luke can help if someone plays him as he makes allies go to one place on the board. Kylo is pretty strong if you know how to manipulate your fate deck.
@@unbrandedpower1343 That is the strategy I've tried to employ as well, but with Heart and Strength, one of the two can evidently use their abilities again even if they are in play thanks to the way "find" works in Villainous. Keeping Leia and Rey on the field is possible, but there's really no way around getting rid of Heart and Strength since it blocks you from moving Rey's alignment tokens, which means it can just keep getting circulated into the Fate deck continuously. Wouldn't be a problem if Kylo could end games quickly, but in my experience basically nobody in Star Wars Villainous can really sprint to the end like some Disney Villainous characters can.
@@LordoftheBoard This response has been a big talking point in my friend's group. We've really taken a love to Villainous, but with five games played as Kylo across various players, none of us have won with him. He is, in fact, the only Star Wars Villainous character yet to pick up a win. Assaj Ventress, meanwhile, is undefeated.
General Grievous arrives on 7/28/22 8:15am PST.
See you there 🔥
Depending on how he plays I might main Grievous, he’s one of my favorite Star Wars villains and his objective of collecting lightsabers sounds fun.
