i have never found a song that has so closely related to my walk with Jesus. being skeptical of megachurches and their practices, recognizing the corrupt nature of some pastors, and STILL believing in Jesus because something's just been haunting you (the Holy Ghost) for your entire life and you just can't explain it. you believe, maybe not in the way that other people with the seemingly picture-perfect life do, but in a more pragmatic "I swear something's here and the only explanation is God" way. thank you so much for this song. seriously, the bridge is addictingly good.

Best Friend's baby has been super sick. A friend of ours was just diagnosed with likely metastatic pancreatic cancer-- amazing woman and incredible Christian. 2 other incredible christians Ive known also suffered and died of cancer. I've been struggling with Infertility for 2 years. Its pretty dark right now. Isaiah 45 7-10 helped me a lot today. This song did too.

Amazing! One of your most important songs Chris, but I don’t think it will ever get mainstream recognition in the Christian world of music. This will be too controversial for them unfortunately.
For one thing, it’s also by far the most songwriter-oriented CCM song I’ve ever heard. I like when artists put enough specific situational details that tell a story, and the one he tells in the first verse is genuinely upsetting, and for me makes the feeling he’s describing hit a lot harder than if he tried to just vaguely talk about spiritual doubt.

I had an experience like this once. It wasn’t in a mega church, it was at some sort of late night event at a local church with a guest speaker.
And of course the speaker used little to no scripture and backed his message up by talking about “crazy Holy Spirit” stories.
Anyways this was my first time being “slain in the spirit.” I saw the pastor go up to toddlers and they instantly fell to the floor and were laughing for 25+ minutes. The same pastor touched my friend and it looked as if my friend was getting electrocuted.
I was among the last for the pastor to lay his hands on me. When he did, nothing happened and so I just faked it fell to the ground. I was the only person in that room that wasn’t screaming bloody murder. Oh how that moment traumatized me 😂
Funny stuff how when you are “slain” in the spirit, you are supposed to be overflowing with the spirit and you would assume if that was really happening, that the fruits of the spirit would be at display.

Why are people not in control of their bodies and screaming bloody murder when this is happening? Why are people not displaying traits of the Spirit at these events?
Be careful out there everyone. Stay in the word and test the Spirits.
this has happened to me before as well, they even came back and tried again and I was like what is wrong with me? I mean I'm not going to pretend to feel something when I simply don't! Had many types of prayers with different places and they always expect me to feel something during prayer and I just don't? I can't just make something up if I don't hear anything? I'm just so tired
