I listened to this song so many nights over a 2 year period while my son was undergoing chemo for very aggressive cancer. I cried to it, was in agony as I listened to it, let it pray words when I hadn't any. I don't know if I was thankful for the song, but when I hear it now I feel like it helped my soul reach out to God when I had grief so deep that it couldn't be silent. Gratitude overshadows my life every moment because God spared my son. Still I had to accept that he was God's first and, as Hannah said of Samuel, was loaned to me. I think sometimes music reaches and gives a sense of meaning to things too big for words.

Love your testimony. We only had Hannah for 1 and a half chapters, and yet she affected a radical change we still experience today and on into eternity! Glad you mentioned her. Coming from her understanding was the Zadokian priesthood! Her prayer is among the most wise in the loaded 66.
I played this at my daughters funeral. she was 26.
she loved his voice and songs and blessed her life with his music. it consoled her and comforted her.
I pray almost daily for Fernando to keep writing and inspiring us--that the Lord would continue to anoint him with beautiful music until we are in Heaven.

I discovered Fernando Ortega in 2020 when my wife was in the hospital for heart surgery and I wasn't able to visit her because of the cruel lockdown. I didn't know if she would live or die. And then I found this song and several others which helped sustain me thru it. My wife and I continue to be blessed by this gifted song writer and singer.
I will never get tired of listening to Fernando or this song.

I have recently had my entire cervical spine fused and have other health problems as well. I am 83, and my husband is 85. He has terminal cancer, and I am his caretaker. This is the most challenging times of my long life. Listening to hymns in the evenings calm my soul, and I especially love this one. Although it's not actually a hymn, I love The Breaking of the Dawn because it has special meaning when my mother was dying in 2001. His music is a blessing to many.

Ortega, for all your blessed songs, we and the world need that moment with the Spirit of God, millions, and millions have lost it, because they preferred the applauds, gifts, an famed, of been a servant of God, all of these is great, but with out missing that moment with God, a song, reunion, or anything, take life, only if the Spirit is present. That moment with God, was not given the importance that deserves, and as a result, is getting very dark all over the world, and the suffering and emptiness, of the soul, is getting worse, and worse, even when today we have the most beautiful abundance, in human history. God Almighty, all good, and all my desire, says it this way. With out Me there is nothing you can do. May God awake us again.
