- Our first time on the Resorts World cruise ships and today's video will be our 100% honest review of the Genting Dream... or is the Genting Nightmare... especially since I do not gamble and am rather picky about the cruise ship facilities, F&B options, shopping etc.

Agree with you about the food at Lido. Variety is there but not fantastic. Taste so so only. Only good for filling the stomach, that's all. The check-in process was the most torturous part of the entire experience. Spent 2.5hr queuing and waiting before finally boarded the ship. If you are old folks with you, I recommend bringing along those portable chair which they can sit while waiting in the queue.

Quite a nice and brief heads up of what to expect on Genting Dream. I've sailed on this ship twice but mostly it was partially a private charter, so the facilities and expectation differs by a mile! You're absolutely right that RW's cruises focuses on adults gaming with their 3 level casino. There's even a gambling suite at the Palace Suite stateroom areas too, for the higher rollers. I'm somewhat also looking forward on going to this cruise again on a 'normal' sailing just for the fun of it. But of course I'd probably have a huge expectation that it will not be nearly on par with other cruises such as Royal Caribbean (Really a great all rounder for all family of age), or even with NCL (great for oldies mostly). Nevertheless, good video! :)

Thank you for the candid and honest review! May I know when you could board the cruise? I saw for Wednesdays the cruise only leaves Singapore at 11pm.

Boarding times for different sailings differ. Some Wed sailings depart at 11PM, some at 9PM.
So depending on the sailing you have booked, the check in time usually is from 5PM - 9PM.
You can arrive early but expect to queue up to do check-in and then you will be ushered to the boarding area to have a seat and wait for your turn to board.
My advice is to take an early dinner before going to Marina Bay Cruise Centre for check-in and boarding. The buffet restaurant is opened till late on the day of boarding so you can still grab a meal when you are onboard.
You can also find out more about what is available at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre to plan your arrival timing accordingly.

1. For hand carry bags, it should be cabin size and below, i.e. 20" and below. Anything above this size has to be checked in and it will be delivered to your room. Please ensure your hand carry bags can fit through a regular X-ray machine. if it cannot fit, it has to be checked in.
2. Check in luggage must be "structured" bags, i.e. suitcase, both soft and hard cases are ok. Tot bags, Backpacks, Duffel bags are not to be checked in. So if you happen to bring a super large duffel bag that cannot fit through the X-ray machines, and also cannot be checked in, you may have to change to another bag.
3. Packaged food, i.e. cup noodles, potato chips etc are allowed to be brought onboard. Cooked food, such as nasi lemak, burgers etc are NOT allowed to be brought onboard. Fruits are also forbidden to be brought onboard.
4. A bottle of water per pax is allowed onboard. No alcohol is allowed to be brought onboard. The security will confiscate and hold on to any excess liquor etc while you are on the ship and it will be returned to you when you disembark.

just a small comment wrt your experience of having 4 pax in an interior stateroom.
Yes, with the bunk beds open up, it is indeed cramped. However, this is to be expected as this category of cabin is the smallest. Perhaps you may consider in the
future to try out a Balcony class cabin in Genting Dream (GD).
I've not visited the Royal Caribbean (RC) for many years. Just thinking whether their interior stateroom are more spacious than Genting Dream (?)
Food wise, I fully agree that the quality is mostly mediocre, with occasional better ones in the Western Dining room. I've heard RC food is better.
However, the service in GD is good and all the staff are very courteous.
Hi, thank you for sharing with us. For Genting Dream, even with the Balcony room it is also cramp with 4 pax in it. Plus the beds are kept opened throughout so we dun get to enjoy the sofa in the daytime and have to scoot around the open beds to get to the balcony area.
RC rooms are better planned, so even with the interior rooms and 4 pax occupying, there is still an area for the sofa and curtains closing off the 4 beds which makes it more functional as a room even in the day.
Food wise indeed RC has better options and quality but Genting's chinese food is not bad, especially the dim sum breakfast.
Service I still prefer RC, friendlier in my opinion than Genting though there is nothing wrong with Genting's staff standard.

There are 4 types of accommodation available - Interior (no windows), Outside (window only, cannot open), Balcony and Suites
The rooms are all quite small regardless of type, even the balcony is also cramped if you fit 4 pax inside. There will be a bunk bed and then the sofa opens to a single bed. Only the Suite will be more roomy and comfortable if you want to fit 4 pax in.
For double occupancy, I think it will be less cramped as the beds are not all opened up so you will have some space to walk around.

The price difference varies according the sailing (i.e. itinerary), the sail dates (peak season, all fully booked vs low season with better choices). For example, a 2N weekend cruise to nowhere in June, price difference from Interior to Balcony is $400 per pax. (Based on twin occupancy).
But same sailing in July (non school hols), the difference is $270 per pax. So it's best if you can plan ahead and book earlier and during off peak seasons to get a better deal.

Yes, the Zipline and Rope course onboard Genting Dream is free of charge and do not require advance booking.
Do take note of the opening hours after you have boarded and see when suits you.

Is there an iron for creased clothes in 😮the cabin

No, there is no iron in the room. For creased clothes, I suggest you hang it in the bathroom when you shower and the steam will help to reduce creases. Or bring along a wrinkle release spray and use that to reduce creases.
Another possible solution is to hang up your clothes the moment you reach your cabin to prevent creases.
Alternatively there is laundry service where you can pay for ironing BUT it is really expensive and not worth it.
