Fantastic Project! That is Perfect in todays Coffee-pod society! Will Definitely make a couple for my father and brothers who are All Major Coffee lovers!
You never cease to amaze me with your brilliance. I’ll have to backtrack and make plans for this so I can make one for myself. Love your thought process and ingenuity.
Welcome back Josh. Love the idea and build. As I was watching I tough an alternative could be the bottom drawer to have compartments for say stirring sticks or coffee spoons and another for sugar packets.
Excellent as always! Stained my new pine floors with coffee a few years back. Local coffee shops were more than happy to let me take their grounds. Also good for compost. I might have to check these out for our tea's to get rid of all the boxes.
Well done. This is a super practical and well designed piece. I appreciate the work that goes into making a prototype. I spent an inordinate amount of time and energy last year prototyping a line of products to sell this spring.
I really do like these. I do like the look of the crate without the tray on top. But I also am not a fan of seeing my k-cups. I may have to try this and just make the top bin a place for other things.
That turned out great 🔥awesome job . I love old crates and I like making crates that look old. This will definitely be on my next project to build list 😂. Your projects are very inspiring and never disappoint. Glad to see a new video from you. You have been missed.
That's a great idea how long can you keep the coffee for staining example like 3 months or just use it a couple of times pour it out and make a new stain
That is a good question I do not know the answer to. From what I’ve read online, coffee doesn’t really expire so if kept in a closed container I think it would safe to keep the coffee stain for a few months. I’d actually like to know what other people think. Hopefully more people respond to your comment
Coffee by itself is relatively acidic so I'd think it should be fine for a few weeks at least. I have seen it mold after a week or so though so no guarantees. Could always try adding some alcohol into the mix to make it more shelf stable? A small portion should be enough to keep it good for longer. Works for liqueurs, so I'd have to think it would be fine for coffee too, just not sure what it would do to the staining process.
@ alcohol is a good idea. I read online that people will put a tiny bit of bleach into their water storage to keep it safe longer but I was afraid bleach would affect the stain color. Alcohol might not affect the stain color as much… I’ll have to do a little experimenting.
The saw stop can sense if you use a blade smaller than 10”. If you have a smaller blade or no blade on the arbor the table saw will not start. I need to buy a different brake cartridge meant for 8” blades if I want to use my dado stack on the saw stop. I did not know all this before I bought the saw stop. It’s kinda annoying but I understand why they do it
@ wow I had no idea. Sorry you’ve come up against that but from a selfish perspective I’m glad you’ve educated us on it. I was about to pull the trigger or a Saw Stop but may pause for a bit now. Great project btw. Definitely gonna try making a crate.
I don’t think you are supposed to put a dado stack on jobsite saw but it will still fit. The shorter arbor makes it risky when putting on really wide stacks like a 1/2”. I wouldn’t recommend putting a dado stack on a jobsite saw but with that said I do it all the time
Great product! Brilliant innovation and creativity.

Smart design! I’m happy to see your videos back again.

Great design. Very efficient method of cutting the half laps, great for batching out several crates.
Yay! So happy to see you again! I would love to see a video with all the new upgrades to the shop. Can't wait to see what's next!
That's a clever design...I was not expecting the sides to slide out like that. Well done!
Great idea. Thanks for sharing
That is really nice. Now you need to make a old crate looking box that is a bread box to match.

Great job on this project, Josh. I'm jealous of the SawStop. Hope to see more projects soon.
You're my favorite creator on UA-cam.
I think you have developed a genuinely great product!

That’s a really good idea, I might tweak the design to do the same thing

Creative as always! Your videos always inspire me to look at a project in a different way. Hope to see more of your work soon!
Thank you! More videos coming soon!
Top notch
Outstanding woodwork, keep it up.
That is so cool! Very nice!
I'd love to see a shop tour video!
A tip to make the stamping imperfect, just roll over the stamp one or two times tops so you don't get complete coverage with the ink roller
Good idea
Really cool project, Josh.
excellent
Take the grid out and you'll have a cheap tool drawer.
💖💖👍👍🙏🙏👍👍💖💖Great project

What’s the deal with the 8” dado stack not being compatible with the Saw Stop. Is the arbor not large enough to accommodate that stack?

Quick question: what dado stack are you able to use on the Herc? I've got a Herc also and I thought none would fit because of the short arbor.
I don’t think you are supposed to put a dado stack on jobsite saw but it will still fit. The shorter arbor makes it risky when putting on really wide stacks like a 1/2”.

I think you should design wood products as a living.
That’s why you called it a “Hobby” once you make money out of it, it will turn into a Job
