That guy taking care of the cow , we need more of people like that!
Yes! He was so reassuring and kind.
Hopefully it's a cow who lives on a sanctuary otherwise the scenario is grotesque as hell. I.E a dairy cow receiving care in order for the farmer to keep profiting off of them only to be sent to a slaughterhouse when they are "spent" at the age of 4-5 after being continously made pregnant in order to lactate, their calfs being separated at birth each time.
Kindness makes the meat and dairy more delicious.

The recycle thing isn't just Norway, it's Sweden, Denmark and I believe Finland as well (might be other countries too). It's a way to incentivise recycling and promote people to avoid littering. It actually ends up being taken very seriously, like people will judge you for unecessarily throwing bottles and cans in garbage bins rather than recycling.
Think it's in most of the country's in western Europe. The Netherlands Belgium an Germany have it ass wel
Quebec Canada has those machines too. But no lottery option. Just 5 cents a can or bottle.
Austria in 2025
there's also marketing programs that incentivice you to put the bottles next to (instead of in) garbage cans if youre too lazy to return them. that way poor people can collect and return them for some extra cash.
It's in New York too just not the lottery part
The machine u talked about at the last part is in a lot of the countrys in Europe, for sure in Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

As a gecko owner, I can confirm that they do in fact make noise, but typically it’s to tell you to stop messing with them or if they’re scared/nervous.
Yup, after 2 years of owning a leopard gecko I didn't even know they made any noise until I saw a video online of someone laughing at their leopard gecko screeching. She got dozens of comments getting upset with her because she was purposely putting her leopard gecko under a lot of stress because she thought the noise it was making was funny.

What looks like a torture device around the cow is actually a machine that was discovered to calm animals down whilst restraining them. It worked so well that a woman named Temple Grandin took the idea and patented *a hug machine* for humans working on the same principle.

I'm 64 years old. When I was a teenager, in California, we had those can and bottle recycling machines everywhere outside supermarkets. They were great. I don't for the life of me know why they stopped using them. We've gone backwards ever since.
Because they're picky. You have give them intact cans and bottles, can't crush them or even dent them much... before they get crushed by the machines.
Probably the company that make the machines closedown thus there's no maintenance when they brokendown and consistent change of government, consistent change of priorities
@@westrim That's ridiculous and sad... Thanks for sharing.
Wow... I really didn't know that! Thanks for the info. It is indeed sad to know this...
@@westrim Well, unless you have a habit of stomping on cans after drinking them, I don't see where the problem is with that.
As long as the bar code on the bottles and cans are intact and not buckled, they usually go through, and for bottles you can often just blow air into them or just unscrew the cap to undo most damages.
I don't think I've ever had a bottle so crumbled down that I couldn't recycle them, and I've likely recycled thousands of bottles by now

You pay 25 Cent per bottle/ can and I think 7 Cent per glass bottle when you buy them, and get that "deposit" back from the Maschine later on.
Our machines however, don't have a lottery option. Ours have a payout, where you get a slip and bring that to the register, they will either deduct it from yournoeuchase or give you cash, whatever you want.

In the Netherlands we have to bottle machines without the lottery part. For each bottle you get a bit of "statiegeld" (a receipt/voucher) which you can use to (help) pay at the checkout. The idea behind "statiegeld" is you pay extra for the bottles when buying them, which you get back after returning them, so people don't just throw them away/in nature.

I heard that too and was like: "Did I hear that right?" Thank you for confirming, I'm not insane lol
We have this recycling system in Lithuania too ^^ It's very useful
I live in Ontario and have never heard of that flower before or that law.
You always do great work but this installment was unusually wholesome and adorable (lots of animals and plain wholesome fun clips). Twas a lucky week for internet clips ;) Thank for gathering them up for us!
Yes, really good DESPITE being wholesome 😀

That same Trillium law is in place here in MI, and being told from a young age to not even touch the flowers was always really confusing till I was properly educated. Thanks a lot, dad...
They're pretty, and were at risk of habitat loss for a while.
Not so much now, fairly common in most of lower Canada
When I was about five years old, I was told by my aunt, who was a teenager at the time, that if I picked one, the Queen of the Trilliums would come after me.

Oh god no, the truth is revealed.

The machines for recycled plastic bottles aren't only in Norway. It is in many European countries.
Those things that you saw in Norway, we have those here in Finland too.
being a norwegian i really love you talking about my country with such warmth :)
The 2 things alone are so cool it makes me want to visit
@K7vb4Rms Than* also no
That’s funny because it’s cold there. Anyway greetings
Can you explain the lottery recycling? We have the machines where i live but they just give you 0.082$ per bottle
I've been to Norway a few years ago with my parents, it's a beautiful country. And most people there are really nice! That was probably the biggest culture shock for me (as a german)

We have the bottle recycle thing in Brazil too! It goes towards credit for your electricity bill.
They've been trying to sell the "convenience" of chipping people for decades and it's still a terrible idea ripe for tyrannical abuse.
tbh I found that guy stupid for doing that seeing how mechaical devices like that shouldn't be implanted into people it's not normal and our bodies could destroy it by accident causing more problems. And all because he "forgets is card" sounds like a him problem. And who the hell doesn't leave the house grabbing their wallet or do what my grandfather does is already have it in his pants day in and day out even when gone to bed his wallet is always in his pants while they're hanging on the chair.
this guy is just stupid.

@@Ottee2 I agree, the fur was so perfect. Wonder if they groomed him by shaving with a clip on of a certain length or if it is like that naturally.
You haven't seen me yet
@@nalissolus9213 , Not sure, but I'm going with natural.
You obviously didn't see the cow
I recently went to a music festival in Germany where they had a bottle & can return machine in which you didn't need to insert them one by one but you could dump a garbage bag full with cans & bottles into it and it would sort and count those for you. Took around 1 minute for the machine to count our 72 beer cans and 4 bottles, which single handedly paid for our next rack of beers. The return machines that you showed are also common here, but it was the first time I saw one that handles huge loads at once. I call them return machines, since they don't really recycle the bottles & cans just yet, they just squash and pack them, which of course shall be the first step in the recycling process.
did it have the lottery option aswell? gambled on with a single beer can in my hometown in norway and won 50 euros last year, talk about a whole weekend of free beers😆🔥
Oregon, USA has this, and I believe other states have it as well
I’m not reading allat
In Germany you get a coupon for groceries.
@@meatpole123 tldr: machine handles huge loads all at once
Germany has this plastic bottle and can recycling machine too. It's called Pfandautomat. But there's no lottery. You just get a receipt to get money back. 25 cents per bottle/can. At some machines you can donate money for a good cause.
