Wow didn't expect aftermath. It's one of my favorite solo campaign game too. But it's so underated and doesn't have enough coverage that it's a nice surprise to see it as number one. Completely agree with you here Jes
Oh, that's so cool!!! 😀 I've always been surprised by how under-the-radar it ended up, too. I'm very partial to animals as characters, but it really stands out as an excellent campaign game. Loved the mechanics! Thanks for sharing: Always great to find someone who also enjoys Aftermath!
Thank you for your enthusiasm for all of these games. Your description of Legacy of Dragonholt is so moving. I am on the hunt now! Thank you, Jessica and Edo.
You're welcome, Chris!!! It's been a couple of years, and it's nearly time to play through Legacy of Dragonholt again. I always highly recommend it. Literally still remember some of the scenes and how memorable they were. Definitely an excellent story, and I know I never experienced all the possibilities!
Thanks so much!!! 😄 Expect to see more videos from me, mainly in the solo realm. Really love being able to share these with everyone as a guest on Ed's channel! 🙂
Thanks Jessica (Albia). Aftermath continues to sit on the edge of my consciousness, mainly because of your posts in SGoYT. Not enough to pull the trigger yet, but enough to consider it.
Great to hear! Although I will say I come with a warning on BGG with the title of Breaker of Wallets. 😄 Hopefully you can enjoy checking it out from afar, though, if it's not quite for you! As I keep mentioning, it's been years since I last played a campaign and I've been really interested in starting over again... If I do, that whole journey will be all over SGOYT and my blog! 🙂
You're very welcome, and thanks for watching! 😄 It looks like there should be a reprint of Pocket Landship on Kickstarter in the future. Expedition: Northwest Passage is quite difficult to find, although there has been some mention of a reprint. I hope it happens!!! And in both cases, hopefully you'll be able to find both games sometime soon. Good luck and thank you again!
Man I wish I could afford Mechs v Minions. That game REALLY needs a reprint. What a lovely smily face Jessica has. I need to go to BGG and look up Aftermath now. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! Aftermath really is so much fun. I haven't played the campaign in a few years... Definitely nearly time to return to it! 😃 I believe Mechs vs. Minions is available directly from Riot Games (if that's an option for you) although the price does keep going up and up. Hope you can find it at an affordable price, as it's just so much fun!
Awesome!!! 😀 Still remember some of the heart-wrenching parts of the story, along with some of the warm and cozy moments. When you find a game that sticks with you for that long after just a single play, you know it's a great one!
Funny to see those games. 8:15 - Legends of Andor - I found it flat, cliche characters, poor artwork and all I saw was a puzzle. That sounds a bit negative, on the bright side it's very clear and approachable. It was nice to play with others, but I wouldn't try it solo. Sold. If you didn't sell it, there are 102 fan-made scenarios online available in German. If you don't know German, use the opportunity to learn it 🙂 10:35 - Pocket Landship - you didn't show the inside of the box. The game is very poorly produced, the cards don't fit inside. The creators took what was a very good pnp (solo black and white, but free, with an expansion) and made it actually worse. 12:37 - Legacy of Dragonholt - this game is fantastic, time and ticking boxes with well written story. It stands a mile above your other games and is one of a kind. 15:29 - Aftermath - I painted the miniatures, and built a proper insert for them. But the rulebook needs to be rewritten, however nobody has ever managed to produce a proper one. I'm really curious how you handled that without help. Again, box remains closed... 19:14 - Conclusion Last few weeks I got into Realm of Shadows games, The Forgotten Road, The Last Stronghold. Really good games, excellent solo, really cheap too, but to have a good experience I had to rewrite the rulebooks to have an actual campaign feel added to it. The campaign rules are online available for print. Got Deck of Wonders (kickstarter and pnp), and Skytear Horde arrived yesterday. All those games are fantastic.
Poor artwork on Legends of Andor?? I know art is always subjective, but I definitely think Michael Menzel is one of the best in the business, hands down...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! In terms of the Aftermath rulebook, I think I made some judgment calls and went with telling a story over trying to figure out every rule interaction. I agree that it is a little too confusing, though. At least the story was worth it for me! 😀
@@guebertp maybe the later boxes but I found the artwork on the original andor quite poorly done, almost as bad as aeon's end. It may be a particular style popular in the US though, it may be a culture thing. The isofarian art looks much the same as well.
@@gamewardbound yeah I'm in the middle of rewriting a proper rulebook for Aftermath. I painted the minis (and fixed a broken piece) and have made a provisionary mini organizer into the box.
Well I have a lot more to offer those are not the picks I was looking for... After the virus is great, God of War the card game, hero realms with ruins if thandar, veilwairth, Blight chronicles agent decker, feudalia, under falling skies. Those are my 7 picks with the number one being after the virus
Excellent list! I've only heard of a few of these and I have to sheepishly admit that as I was posting this video, I looked directly at my copy of Veilwraith and couldn't believe I forgot to include it. 😱 I'll need to do a followup video at some point! 😃

Jessica has a huge range

Jessica's video's have been great. Thrilled to have her making these.

That's the plan!

First time on this channel, and what a great video to start with! Subscribed!👍
Welcome aboard!
Thanks so much, and welcome! 😃
Great video Jessica! Thanks so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. ❤️
Glad it was helpful!
You're very welcome! 😀
Thanks for the tips Jessica! Looking forward to trying to hunt down a copy of Pocket Landship
That, and thanks to an earlier video of yours, hope to score a copy of Northwest Passage too
Pointing her at all the comments - I agree these have been great vids!

Aftermath sounds really good. Off to learn more. Thanks!
Have fun!

It is hard to find these days.

Aftermath regularly (monthly) goes for sale for around $50/€50, it's just a matter of time.
@@GamingwithEdo no, not hard at all. Finding a copy WITH the insert though is quite rare.
I looooovvvveeee Legacy of Dragonholt!
She knows so many games, lol :P

Aftermath! One of my tops as well :)

Yes!!! Always thrilled to find more people who enjoy it. Such a wonderful story. About time to replay it again one of these days! 😀
I discovered Valeria from this vid. Cheers
Lovely to read!
Awesome to hear! 🙂
Jessica I don't have any of the games you picked, but I really enjoyed your video.
Greetings from Chile.
Have you played Welcome to the moon?
Thanks! 😃 I have not played Welcome to the Moon, although I've heard of it a few times. Have you?
I haven't :P
