I'm not sure how far back "The day" goes for you. But for my generation, we did have more organists back in the day. Then that darn acoustic guitar came along. Much lighter, cheaper, and easier to play, it could make you a folk musician in a couple of weeks. Plus those Beatnik/Hippy chicks didn't dig skating rink music as much as they dug The Kingston Trio and Bob Dylan. But forward thinking musicians kept on studying the B3. It only took a couple of years before the folk kids wanted Ol' Mr Leslie on their records. So we got the gigs, they got the girls...🙂
GREAT!!!
I used to work in a Hammond organ store, and remember (liking) this model. I believe it was a tonewheel - certainly sounded better than the electronic replacement models of the era.
This is so stupid. If he were talented at all, he would’ve made the best of it, and wowed us. Instead he made a fool of himself. He needs to watch a real pro like Mike Reed here on UA-cam.
He demonstrated Yamaha organs in the past and I admired him so much. If it wasn't for him, I would have never switched from keyboard to organ as a teen. He doesn't do that anymore, as Yamaha no longer sells their Electones outside Asia. He demonstrates keyboards and Clavinovas now. He loves to play old organs when he gets the chance for the fun of it. The guy filming told him to laugh. I don't see what's wrong with it.
If we had had more organist like this guy back in the day, organ music would have kept flourishing forever!

Schöne Erinnerungen. Da war er noch voller Lebensfreude.

I have a T524 which is very similar--dunno know what the difference is. But I have kept it because I like the tonewheel sound.
@@JerryNSretired so did i, with the last T583c that came from chicago to luxembourg :-)
Class act, Peter - just proves you don't need a multi thousand euro instrument to sound great!
Looks like he had fun.
Had one like this for many years. Great instrument and sound.
And now its virtual insid smartphone
A bit of nostalgia Peter.
Love Peter, he knows his way around keyboards

Hammond T 500, the small B3! I had one in the cellar studio. But than the water was coming! Still sad about.
If you enjoy organ music , check out Mike Reed 's channel , he was a great musician. Many good tunes on the Hamond Grandee.
