- An Alabama school has introduced a bulletproof classroom to better protect students and teachers in the case of an active shooter emergency.
Cullman City Schools’ West Elementary in Alabama has installed Rapid-Deploy Safe Room Systems in two of its classrooms according to Unilad.
KT Security Solutions came up with the design in response to the deadly mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last year. Nineteen students and two teachers died, while seventeen others were injured.
The design incorporates a fold-out room that extends from a whiteboard featuring bulletproof walls. One door is locked from the inside and only unlocked with a key.
The safe room can be pulled out and assembled within 10 seconds.

As someone who does not live in America that is literally the saddest thing I have ever seen
I'm sorry, our politicians like making us mentally ill and physically confused
You could use it as a storm shelter too.
I don't think there's nothing wrong with having a panic room and each
It hurts my heart to see how far our society has left Virtue behind -- that a school would even need this. Heal our society; return to virtue.
Your not a preacher bro
@@kaifraid9790 one doesn't have to be a preacher to see that modern society started declining when the morals society used to value--based on selflessness, empathy, compassion, discipline, responsibility, hard work, honesty, etc.--were replaced with selfishness, narcissism, relativism, chaos, victimization, lies, etc. It's an easy equation: what society values, society will produce. If you want a society that isn't riddled with chaos, return to the values it used to have. Don't need to be a preacher to see that.
Ok but what if the shooter folds the wall in with everyone inside💀
I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not. 😂
But they obviously can't.
I STG I was thinking the same thing!!!! Like how does it close?
This is the perfect example of attacking the problems at the top and not the root cause. SMH
Not to be a downer, but what happens when the shooter drags a table or something up to the wall, stands on the table, pops a couple ceiling tiles, and now has a birds eye view of his prey? I guess no solution is perfect, but I would hope that where the walls sit while deployed the ceiling cavity above is also fortified.
I was thinking that too. He can easily get into the ceiling I’ve seen students do it.
@@steamdynamite5334or just have 5 police officers a school

That lady had such a hard time pulling that heavy wall out, that her and at least 8 students woulda been capped out by the time she gets it half way.. and this is realistic as most teachers are small, women, not used to moving something so large - especially in an emergency situation, under stress.. but to the 3 children who survive by jumping out the window - kudos to you, may you live long and prosper.
If you mix fuel metal oxide and metal powder in the right way it burns at 2000 degrees Celsius enough to cut through any barrier known to man throw some c4 into the mix and you got your self a jack of a combination
thermite doesn't need an explosive to be more viable. might as well just use the explosive at that point. potassium can also excite the thermite reaction. if someone wants to attack a public space with thermite and c4 not much designed to prevent a shooter will stop them. but not many people are just gonna magically get a plastic explosive like c4, and thermite can be used to breach into fortified locations but its not the most practical nor something we want to advertise to people
Surreal..The US is lost..Madness.
The "safe room" has the same drop ceiling over top of it as the rest of the classroom. A popped tile gives ample space to go up and over.
One fuse charge and it’s all over 💀
I think it's about every school every school in the world needs to have those
Any one can stand on a table and take those sections out of the ceiling. The room may be bullet proof but the ceiling is not and any shooter can go through the ceiling. So, If you're gonna have something like that, I suggest figuring out how to bulletproof the ceiling over the bullet proof room. It's that easy you say.....it's also easy for anyone to remove the ceiling panels and start shooting. I can't believe the dumbness of this. You have to understand the mind of a killer.
I deal in risk analysis...The risk with this bullet proof room is that it is no bullet proof. These an access point of around 3 feet to get into it, just as easily as the demonstration of unfolding it. Can anyone guess what it is?
my guess is that the shooters could fold it back and crushing all of the person inside
How is this not going viral considering what just happened in Nashville, Smart Idea
It's not that smart, they'll know where to target and I highly doubt it's smoke and flammable proof.
1 flaw in design, the rooftiles could be pushed aside and stand on desk to shoot over the board, it would be better to have a bulletproof classroom door (and cheaper)
Forgive my concern but she said “teacher or administrator” could close the door. Most schools are overcrowded. There were two chairs in there with barely enough standing room for 10 people. How are they going to choose who can enter the safe room? Or is it just for teachers and administrators?
Don’t be dumb. Alabama is not like that. I know the school well. My son and granddaughter went there. They will be protected. We also have a great police force
@@janblackman6204 It's not dumb to question how they're going to fit a whole classroom of kids in that small box. Even if you pack them in like sardines they won't all fit. Please explain how 30 kids can fit in there. Or are the classrooms really small, like 10-15 kids?
@@Midnorme the best solution is to give the smartest kids with best grades assigned seat next to door. The ones with the worst grades in the back. When it’s time to file in the best grades go in first until it is full. It also gives motivation for the kids to do their homework and behave in class.
Somebody not gonna make it 🤷🏽♂️
@@janblackman6204 since you keep deleting my comment with facts and resources I’m going to report and have yours deleted. You don’t get to control speech when it debunks your ideology.
What if the shooters in your class? What if it gets stuck? 🤔
What if the shooter makes it into the class before it can be pulled out? It didn't look like it came out very quickly. If a school shooter makes it inside the school, I suppose teachers had better hope the shooter starts at another part of the school or that the school has armed personnel that can take the shooter out or at least engage them to stall.
If it gets stuck well back to the old fashion way or get out through the window
Its safe, cuz the ceilings are sheets of cardboards that can be taken away and the shooter can just shoot everyone inside with a pistol from the ceiling hole.
My one problem with this is, it would only work in schools that have solid roofs inside the classroom, and most of the schools that I went to had panel roofs. The shooter can just climb up desks that he stacked up against the safety room and climb through the ceiling.
I live here in Cullman. They also are protected from tornadoes. That’s a bigger thing here in Alabama
Incorrect . Source ? Let’s actually think about it . That single magnetic or spring lock corner ? That ain’t saving anybody from a tornado bro . More like a crush hazard . I lived through Katrina . You should’ve seen the doors .
Better be a strong spring like at least 80lbs to counter 85mph winds
@@RSST662 the school also has a tornado safe room that can hold the entire school. Built after 2011 when cullman had 5 tornado hits that one day.
@@janblackman6204 oh ok a separate thing then
@@RSST662 Katrina was a hurricane and 90% of the damage was caused by flood waters. That has nothing to do with a tornado. You’re not as smart as you try to come off as.
When will this be on market for all school?
Locked safely inside 🤣🤣 I’d just go up in the ceiling grid bro.
This gives detention a whole new meaning 🥴

You know your backsliding as a society when you gotta do this
Wouldn’t it be better to just have a metal detector so that the shooter never enters the building.
Didn’t work in the public schools I went to. If they prosecuted criminals to the full extent of the law they’d be afraid of attempting crime. Why should the innocent majority feel like they’re entering a prison?
@@crayonparfait It always work in airports.
@@ow3wells you really have a mind of about a six year old child. Airports have armed staff all over those security checkpoints. Schools do not.
A determined school shooter would just take out the one or two people at the metal detector and then what? You really haven’t thought this through, have you?
@@ow3wells oh, so we change the topic for your comment to fit the narrative?
@@ow3wells and how long does it take to get through airport security?
i see alot of people in the comments about the the ceiling issue but if the shooter has all that time to climb up into the ceiling then the police should be fired for being that slow
There should be security cameras and guards outside each school. This does not help. Build walls around schools and gates where security guards stay.
@@DM-ur8vc Schools should already have security cameras and some schools have armed security guards. It's nothing like prison and you know it. Do you complain about schools having you use an intercom before buzzing you in? Come on now. I disagree with being fenced in, BUT my elementary school did have a fence around the property with only the front being accessible. It wasn't a friggin prison. Learn the difference bwteen a protected school and a correctional facility please. Also, as a parent, I'm happy to have armed guards at the entrances. They have the ability to either take out a shooter BEFORE they have a chance to make it to a classroom or they can at least stall the shooter to give teachers time to start measures to keep the children safe.
Notice the drop ceiling? Panels can be moved by hand and have no barriers to prevent humans, or bullets from penetrating the tiles on the other side.
Ok the windows are still there but if you bar them up and there is a fire and can't get door opened to escape it could be an issue there needs to be more thought put into it!
Innovative, but why not something to be done about gun control. Still it's not an easy thing when such incidents of shooting happens to close such heavy wall like doors. People are more panicked!!!

Why not just fortify the entire room itself? Precious seconds are lost just by dragging and clicking that system into place, not to mention herding the children into the protected area. Bullet and tamper proof windows and doors might just be as effective.
Just get rid of the problem
What if the agressor gather all the schoolbags around the safe room and set them on fire?

Cluster Charge Deployed
Get rid of that drop ceiling, the shooter can go right over top of it.. that would only be 100% safe with a normal ceiling. Let's keep our kids safe.
When you mix fuel...metal powder and metal oxide
Is there any footage of this thing actually being tested to see if it really is bullet proof? Or are the people supposed to just take your word for it?
When you mix fuel, metal oxide and metal powder in just the right way, it burns at 2000 degrees Celsius
What if another shooter is one of the students?
Can also be used for mass kidnappings
