Australia has literal massive potential as far as harnessing and exporting solar power. I understand that one of the two richest folks in Australia is currently under taking the task of laying the underground cable to Malaysia for exporting solar power. It would be relatively easy to power the entire nation of Australia, several times over, with 100% solar only energy and battery storage, and still make literal boatloads of money exporting cheap power to other countries. I don't know get any downside to all of that. Making money at the same time as hugely expanding the use of renewable energy. Seems like a win-win-win type situation to me.
