- This video featuring Werner Rohr´s Toyota Corolla AE86 is a remake of one of our first clips on the Channel. This Levin model (fixed headlights) was one of the greatest dominators of the 1600cc Class of the highly competitive Swiss Hillclimb Championship during a number of years. Using a Naturally Aspirated 4-AGE engine capable of 230Hp/9.000Rpm and delivering that to the Rear Wheels through a 6-Speed Sequential Gearbox, it was also lightened to an impressive 820Kg.
Featuring a bespoke widened bodywork and Aerodynamic appendages, this machine was the product of almost a decade of development by Mr. Rohr on the Swiss Hillclimb Championship which unfortunately was stopped at St. Ursanne-Les Rangiers 2018, where a major crash left this beautiful unit utterly destroyed. Rumour is a new one is being built and possibly with even more impressive specs. Now that will be something to behold...

That is magnificent. Not being drifted, no wheels at funny angles, just pure simple speed. Too easy to forget what a little pocket rocket the AE86 is.
The swiss AE86 hillclimbers are a somewhat forgotten gem.. hopefully we can show them to the public 😉

Grip ftw :) I drive an aw11 and even when I'm trying to slide, it just sticks to the road like shit to a blanket hahaha so much love for the 4AGE

E: What a time it was to live those golden -80's -> early 2000's this same spec car as fast etc now electric cars ruin the whole thing... Cant get faster acceleration 2s 0-62mph (~100km/h), and i mean everyday car like Tesla etc... Before electric 5sec was fast and 85% of the people not in their lifetime, not even talked about driving one everyday...
It's a shame gas engines are portrayed as big bad alltought we can make 100% no fossil 100% no polluting fuel in lab, not having to change any infra/distribution...

When are big tankers/ships on the sea going to move out of bunker fuel? Never unless they are forced to stop..its too cheap to use it !
Even if we take 100biggest (i would bet it's closer to 20 most polluting ships than this but let's give them a hand) ships they are many times more polluting than all the cars in the world GRAZY!!
Holy cow, never knew 230 hp would slingshot an 800 kg car that fast up the hill.. That was one proper build!

THE most insane AE86 build I've ever seen. It's amazing what weight reduction can do for a relatively low power engine.

I'm supposed to be picking up an AE86 hatch this weekend!!! This channel has always been an inspiration to me because of the lightweight NA cars.

This AE86 is downright awesome.Pure speed,great acceleration and grip.Despite sound is a bit unpleasant from inside footage,i can care less when there's fast and skilled driver.AE86 is mostly known in drift world,but when built for grip,it becomes a rocket and this unit is just that.Thanks for sharing and refreshing the video of this JDM gem.

God the damn Toyota 4ag sounds just amazing all motor. I have booked with pretty much every other engine out there every Honda engine every Silvia engine Supra engine MR2 engine Skyline engines S2000 engines rotaries BMW. I've always wanted a 86 Corolla with individual throttle bodies

Unfortunately the inside camera´s mic was beginning to fail. We still edited a good bit but there´s still some unpleasant chunks for sure..

'Will wataru ever go back to supercharger 🤔' after seeing this n/a 86 run i say never again with better throttle response, more traction, qucker corner set up has show to be good traits for many lightweight racers specially for 86 racers too as this video really nice example so thank you hillclimb monsters and have safe weakend bye now.
My god what a lovely car.
Only critique, and it's a nitpicky one that Hillclimb Monsters has not control over, is to tell the person who mounted the in-car camera to turn down the mic gain.
Yeah, we still did our best and tried to edit the sound a bit which made it better than it was recorded originally but still quite unpleasant on some bits. In the end it was either going through it with less than optimal sound or no Onboard at all... We think we still made the right call ;)
