Nizmi (these two leaders were killed by government at the 1987 - 89 insurgency). JVP did not agree with Elam. JVP was against with LTTE but JVP did not against Tamil nation. Most Indian media think that JVP is only a Sinhalese nation's organization and they are against Tamil people. This is thoroughly a wrong idea.
As far as I remember, it is not correct to say the JVP was against Tamil interests. The assassinated husband of Former Prime minister Chandrika Kumaranatunga was a supporter of JVP and visited Jaffna and was working with younger progressive Tamils. Actually when ethnic struggles are set aside, the fight for economic improvement of the country as a whole and individual rights and freedoms have no ethnic flavour. All the SL citizens need to see that rising tide lifts all boats and stop dividing on old ethnic lines. This is old hat, the residue of destructive way how the people were trained to think, which will give rise to problems. We need to think as a country, all ethnic groups have problems, as it is a bankrupt third world country.
