I was part of the Beta and it was awesome in the sticks where I was living at the time. I found out that the speeds are very similar to what you'd get on your cell phone. So if you are curious on what speeds you can get, just use your phone and run a few speed tests around the house for a rough #. At 30mbps in the LTE Beta days, I was able to stream live HD TV pretty flawlessly. I was also able to game on my PC, something it would struggle with on the 10mbps CenturyLink offered me. Just note, the speeds can fluctuate a lot depending on time of day or events where you'd have a large load of people on the tower you're connecting to.

T-Mobile has been great. I've had their phone service for over 12 years. The home internet service at the beginning was slow but it is now consistently over 200 megs. My kids are able to stream play gaming without any issues. It's just getting better

Ive had it since October 2021. It was a bit slower and would stop connecting for the first couple of months(we also had our separate wifi plan through our apartment as well). Since December 2021 it improved remarkably and we canceled our apartment plan and have not had barely any issues!

I have had this device for 2 weeks and so far it's awesome. I have had speeds over 280 mbps every single day. I have not noticed any glitches. I have used Netflix, and other streaming sites and have not had a single issue. I put the unit on my bedroom dresser (not next to a window) and I have had 4 bars and up to 5 bars. I will give it 2 more weeks and then I will KO Xfinity. Thank you for your video.

    • @saprissa73

I forgot to add that downloading and using the App was extremely easy. Scanning was easy. The only issue I had was that the unit was not communicating with my cell phone even though, my phone recognized the Mobile device. I got frustrated and was going to call customer service the next day. Well, the next day I powered up the device and it recognized my phone right away. I added the device to my PC and it has worked great. My roommate has an old laptop with windows 8. I tested his speed and it was around 90mpbs from the xfinity wifi and it was not picking up the new T-Mobile internet. He needs to modernize. He is going to purchase a new laptop and I am sure his speed will quadruple.

I just got the "trash can" T-Mobile 5G yesterday. After a little trouble setting it up (tech support took care of all my problems) it has worked quite well. I had the old LTE system and this is much faster. I read a while ago that if you were to take the router in say your RV that it will work where ever there is a T-Mobile 5G tower. I have not tried that yet. You got the newer 5G and I will eventually request that upgrade but for now I am very happy with the results. By the way I never had any trouble with the LTE but I am not a gamer.

I had it for a few months. I was connected to n71 (extended range 5g, usually for rural areas) with 3 bars. I never got less than 40 down and 10 up. Usually averaged 70-120 Down and 15-20 up. If you care you can check what band you're connected to using the gateway IP.

Yeah, it puts up that error message everytime there's a firmware update. They really need to display an actual message stating that instead of the WAN002 error code. I had a total of 4 error messages so I contacted support and they told me there were multiple updates that needed to be installed in sequence. Kinda silly way of doing it, but at least its working fine now.

Identical experience for us as RVers with Starlink, Verizon and now T-mobile "home" internet. Starlink had a great honeymoon period, but because I need latency and jitter stability, I find myself relying solely on a bonded VPN from Pepwave to cover for Starlink's drop outs (duplicating packets via our Verizon LTE plan), 5mbps upload, daily outages, etc. Working on testing out external antennas on the same black box you got, excited to see if this can be our primary plan. We also have it 12v wired now which is far superior to the off grid power needs of Dishy V2.

I've had tmobile home internet for several months now. I also had a terrible experience setting it up, they really need to work on that, it's super buggy. Took me an hour when I first set it up for it to work correctly, but it's been trouble free since. I've really been surprised by how good it's been. My speeds have only gone up over time. when I first got it, I was averaging 250 down, and 30 up, but now I routinely get over 400 down and 60 up. Tmobile really seems to be beefing up their network in my area, and I'm seeing the improvements on my phone and with the home internet service.

I just switched to T-Mobile as well. Their 5g is leagues ahead of the competitors in terms of coverage. The only thing is the speeds aren't insane as of yet. I will switch between 4g and 5g and do speed tests and it does consistently get I'd say 30% faster speeds than 4g, although in relatively rare instances, 4g can actually be faster, admittedly in a non scientific test where I'm just running speed tests.

They just opened up T-Mobile home internet in my area Laguna Niguel California a week ago. Paid the expedited shipping fee and got it a week ago last Wednesday. This is a game changer for me, the internet provider Cox communications has and aging infrastructure that they continuously try to blame the customer for i.e. outdated modem, router. I'm getting a good 150 down consistently and 30 up and the biggest highlight of 2022 for me has been the day I called Cox to cancel service. The rep asked well how is this new T-Mobile and I told her it's good not just a little good it's really really good. I was paying $110 for them and that was after calling and begging yearly to negotiate a new price.

So I done a speed test on my phone while on the 5gUc 450 down and 50 up !!! I’m like right on !!! I've been on T-Mobile home internet for about 4 months now. I have the older router. Haven't had any issues with the router overheating. As for the service, it's not perfect. Maybe once a month or so I will see very slow internet. When I do, I restart the router from the app on my smart phone, and so far that has always resolved the issue. On a bad day, I'll see download speeds in the 100-200Mbs range. On a good day I'll see it in the 600 Mbs range. The upload speeds often get up in the 70Mbs range, which is way better than I ever got from any other provider. While the service isn't perfect, I will say that so far it has been more reliable than any provider I have used.

Some markets have a better performance with ipv4.. you can force the ipv4 fallback on it with a router and disabling the ipv6 passthrough option if you have it
Also it either does 5G cell signal or 5G wifi not both I did alot of experimenting trying to get it working like a beast. Also it operates good with a mtu of 1420 just change it on your router to deliver that to all devices. Hope this helps!

I've had Tmobile for about 2 months now. I must say I'm really impressed with it. During winter storms I notice zero drops in speed. The only issue I encountered seems to be consistency. Sometimes my download is 100 and then it'll randomly go up to 250. Latency is another issue but at its worst it's been at around 60 ms.
Today has been the worst day with the service where my download has gone down to 20 MBPS. We are experiencing high winds of up to 50 miles per hour, so I'm pretty sure that's what causing the drop in speed. Uploads been very consistent since day 1 hitting between 20 to 30 mbps. I haven't experienced any issues with the bandwidth. If I didn't run a speed test I wouldn't of noticed how low it dropped.
This is a big recommend. I'm going to hold on to it for 5 more months to see how it does as more people adopt it. Hopefully it'll hold up.

Once I setup the said name and password I had no issues for the first couple weeks and gave a good rating to the tech that called abut my service. Then after the call everything went to ship. Constant drops and called tech and got it resolved only to have the same issue of constant drops not even a week later. Was on phone with then for over an hour and still had the constant drops. Don't know if I can use this. Time will tell. I love everything about the service except for the connection issues. Hopefully they can get it resolved.

I have the 5G gateway connected via E-net to my Asus router to my Win 7 64GB desktop. All of my dozen or so devices connect to the Asus router. Setup was much as this guy said: multiple crashes, multiple downloads of the smartphone app - I think it took me over an hour to get everything up and working. The good news though is it is fast and reliable. Download in the 450mb range and 20mb upload. Pings are somewhat slow and inconsistent and range from 20-70 with the norm being around 50. Fine for me though as I am not a gamer. I did find that running a VPN on the PC does demand a penalty of about 50% of download speed so I don't use it constantly. The gateway has been in constant use for over a week and has been reliable - no failures. Since I don't use the gateway as a router I wish I could turn off the radios but that isn't possible at the moment. That might help with the heat (which hasn't been an issue yet but then it isn't summer here yet).

I had Spectrum and Att uverse for years, and since the lockdown both ISP's sucked. I had zero stability and had issues with everything, phone Teams, Zoom, and gaming. Never had these issues before covid and it's something the ISP's in my area have been unable to fix or able to. As soon as Tmobile was in my area I got my internet back, stable and faster. Placement is key, move a half an inch and you will go from 200 to 150. I can get around 300 - 500, and since I use my own router I learned I had to change my MTU settings to match the tmobile modem to get better and stable speeds. My only issue is that I don't have my own public IP address, so VPN back to my router requires a 3rd party to allow me to VPN in, and I rather not use Google or Amazon services as a proxy since I want my privacy when it comes to my local area network, anyways most of my smart devices are on a separate network and cant see my regular local traffic. I want a dedicated IP so I can route and better secure my traffic.

I've had T-Mobile 5G Home Internet for about 18 months and I have no complaints. I'm not even near a window and I have 3 bars continually which is great for my devices. I'm averaging close to 200 mbps each time I check via speedtest. I'm on a Chromebook, however, I'm going to get a MacBook Air for my birthday in September. My device has the 12th Gen Corei3 processor and I have no issues with it so far, oh, the battery is not charging but it's always plugged in and it's only important if you move it and I don't need to move it as the reception is stable where it's been since I moved in. And my bill is $50/mos. which is a lot cheaper than Comcast and more stable.

My condo can only get AT&T and the max speed is 100 mbps, but when tested it averages about 65-70. The HOA doesn’t want to upgrade to fiber which the homes across the street have 🤦‍♂️. I was paying $90 a month but now with T-Mobile I only pay $50 and I’m currently averaging 90-100 mbps.

  • @tommygun5vsrocky
    @tommygun5vsrocky 2 роки тому +1

There internet works great I get here in NJ 400mbps over wifi I never connected hardwire I never used it. I have the old cylinder type which is better then the new one you have for right now. The new version has problems. So stick with the cylinder looking version. Key is to get a very long extension cord and walk around the house to find best single but you also need to turn the gateway every 1/4 inch to half inch to change the service quality so you may think it's only three bars but then you turn the unit just a quarter to a half inch and now you have better service. One set up correctly to the best single T-Mobile works great for internet way better than Comcast that I had or Xfinity whatever they want to call themselves now.

    Not enough signal here.
I did see in the news that Starlink and T-Mobile are going to work together so you'll get signal anywhere either gets it alone.
At that point, I wonder if these will even exist unless they update them somehow.

Every thing else is second. I have website say I have no internet.

Right now, being out in the boonies, I just spent the better part of an hour trying to watch your 10 minute video via HughesNet geostationary satellite. It seems T-Mobile just put up a tower or two within range, so the Gateway has been ordered. Pretty low bar to beat what we're used to!

I got T-mobile Arcadyan gateway yesterday and usually would get around 400-500mbps down on my phone on 5G-UC but can't pass 180mbps download on the gateway. Not impressed. I moved the gateway in to at least 10 different locations throughout the house. I'll stick with Spectrum for which I pay $50/m for 400Mbps consistent down speed. Really wanted T-mobile gateway as I was getting it for $30/m 😒

I seem to be the only person who is not getting good speeds on this Arcadyan. I have a 5G tower literally half a mile in direct line of sight, and best I get is 28-38 on download and 18-20 on upload. Spent over 100 hours with tech support doing same startup procedures and nothing. I’ve had 5 escalated tickets to engineering and have not gotten one call back in two months. I believe it may have to do with changing cell metrics or bands but this module doesn’t allow to make changes. Very frustrating and I’m about to cancel it completely...
