I love it every time Hur says that damning or contradictory statements appear in the the report or transcript but never take responsibility of him saying it. Classic distancing tactic!
It's doubtful he wrote the entire thing. So he's saying things in a way where that would make sense & explain why he's saying it that way. It's in his report, but he probability didn't write that.
He didn’t “write” the transcript, it was, you know, a written version of what was said during the deposition. So the OP is right-he was acting like a typical scumbag lawyer who’s caught up short.
Those words do appear on the page. It's like he's denying he wrote them.
Hur could easily be talking himself blue in the face about how he personally feels Biden is senile. He isn't doing that. He's sticking to what the facts of the case are. Also, he never said Biden was forgetful, he only said Biden presented himself _as though he were._
That's somewhat unprofessional editorialization, but not an actual comment on Biden's memory, so acting like it is is not a legitimate attack on either Biden or Hur. So don't go after him, the reality-based community needs all the allies it can get right now.

They're in the transcript, which is everything that was said. They're not in his (Hur's) report because he didn't include them. They are two different, separate documents.

He can't say he DID say that unless he actually remembers saying it. Nor can he testify that the transcript is 100% accurate if he hasn't compared it to an audio version.
So, in order to be completely accurate, his only choice is to agree that those words are in the transcript.

Regardless, Hur was appointed as Special Counsel by the GOP under order of the Tangerine Jack-A-Lope to investigate President Biden for improper handling of classified documents. Biden complied fully. Trump did not, plus he, along with his staff, continued to lie and withhold documents, claiming that they were his to keep, even after receiving Federal subpoenas to return the classified documents in his possession. It took FBI investigators with federal search warrants to search Mar-A-Lago to return those classified documents that were in Trump's possession. It's a possibility that there may be more documents in other Trump properties (Bedminster), but let Jack Smith deal with that. BTW. When an investigator writes a report, facts, pertinent information, and supporting documents should be provided to prove your argument and/or to back up your evidence, as well as objectivity and professionalism. Personal feelings and opinions are to stay out of the report. Special Counsel Hur's put his personal opinions about President Biden's character and age, plus being appointed by the GOP, completely ruined whatever credibility he had.

The most lawyerly response ever by Hur. “Those words appear” is a phrase that means “someone else wrote those words, but I signed off on the report that contains those words.” This type of thing is one of the reasons people mistrust attorneys in general.
It’s most likely a very misleading question, however. Photographic recall does not refer to the efficiency of the memory, it only refers to the notion that he stores information and access his memory in a very specific manner. But their line of questioning tries to portray it as a highly efficient memory, both aren’t necessarily related.
@@tao31416 The context also matters ... "photographic understanding and recall of the HOUSE" (emphasis added). Hur was pointing out that Biden had a good memory of his house which is not the same thing as having a photographic memory in general. I read it as meaning Biden has good spatial reasoning skills.
