- Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is certainly a movie. These things keep getting dumber. And more sinful.
Next week: recent action sins and recent robot sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

Buck was probably one of the most original and fun characters of the series. A great funny adventure movie and Simon Pegg stoled the show. Always loved this more than 2 and 4
Hard agree. Simon Pegg was amazing
He adds a lot of personality to this movie. It wouldn't be half as good if he weren't in it.
My dad ALWAYS remembers Buck when this movie comes up - EVERY TIME XD
Easily the best movie in the series
I was gonna say "stoled" doesn't make any sense here, but I realize it's used in past-tense, so it's right 😂
Unpopular opinion: This is the best Ice Age movie in the franchise.
that's not unpopular
I don't know a single person who doesn't agree to this
Very unpopular indeed
Agreed
Facts
It feels like such an occasion whenever Cinemasins does an Ice Age movie
My personal opinion of the “Ice Age” movies? The first one, “The Meltdown”, “Dawn of the Dinosaurs” and “Continental Drift” are okay, while “Collision Course” and “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild” are terrible.
Yeah, those things are my childhood. He took so long to sin the second movie, I legit wondered if he was EVER gonna continue with the franchise.
AW HELL YA, IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
@Soussy You are right.
@@handev2604 1 and 5 were my favorites
3:30 if you go frame-by-frame you can see that the turtle actually completely removes itself from the shell and escapes off-screen to the right. Still a sin because turtle shells are a permanent part of their body and a turtle without a shell is like a human without a torso
That's not even a turtle, that's a Glyptodon, a giant prehistoric armadillo. What you said about turtles still applies to Glyptodonts and modern armadillos tho, their shells are NOT removable. Heck, in these movies they gave the Glyptodons a PLASTRON, in other words, a bottom shell, like a turtle. Glyptodons and modern armadillos have uncovered bellies.
Do better research
Would be more like a human without ribs and the skin on the torso, with all organs exposed.
He was basically right
"Why cant we be friends"
Sometimes i dont speak right, but then i know what i was talking about
Pffft nonsense, lemme just yank my ribcage off to demonstrate.
This movie perfectly blends the chaotic nonsense that the series devolved into later, and the heartfelt character moments that defined the first two. Unironically a really good movie, 8/10, would walk the dinosaur again
Well said.
slay
Fun fact: This Ice Age was once the third highest grossing animated movie of all time behind Shrek 2 & Toy Story 3.
I honestly think its on par with Ice Age 2, since i never liked 1, but 2 and 3 are the best in my opinion
What happened to finding nemo??
Correction it was thrid behind shrek 2 and Lion King
TS3 came out the following year whiles Loin King outgross IA3 after its 2011 re issue and Finding nemo in its 2012 re issue
That Rex laid her eggs on the icy floor of a frozen cave, underground, without even a straw nest. She got pissed at Sid for stealing them but he probably saved the babis from freezing to death because of her incompetent parenting.
I know right, they never attempted to explain how the eggs even got there
I thought she was hiding the eggs from Rudy, probably just for a short time while hiding. Although the problem still remains that they would soon freeze to death there.
What do you take dinos for? they didn’t have straw nests like birds! They found a place to lay them along with instincts.
@@Zeder95 I also think she was hiding them from Rudy and had just temporarily left to find food, which makes it kinda sad when you think about her coming back and seeing they were gone, she probably thought Rudy got to them anyway
Well let's also consider that those eggs hatched real fucking fast, so they were already basically fully developed. Surely the Rex must have some idea of how long it would take for them to hatch, so she probably went to go get food so that when the hatched she would have food for her kids
The franchise should have ended with this movie, it would have been a great send-off.
- Scrat finds out there's more to life than just hoarding Nuts
- Sid finally learns his worth in the herd
- Diego learns to be more a more sensible friend
- And Manny is given a second chance at a family with Ellie

"Scrat finds out there's more to life than just hoarding Nuts" did you see how the movie ends?
@@nanananaxhhd4330 Who says he won't fall in love with a different female after Scratte?
For the longest time I thought this _was_ the final movie, and I'm very disappointed it's not.
What's kinda neat is that Squirrels _can_ parachute themselves. They're one of the only animals that can survive a terminal velocity fall, and so can survive a fall from literally _any height_ without injury.
Ever heard of a flying squirrel? 😏
I was looking for this comment and it's actually a super cool fact that everyone should know 👍
@@MrMJmusicLover yes. But flying squirrels dont use their "wings" as a parachute. They use them to glide longer distances to move around between trees.
_ALL_ squirrels are capable of surviving a fall from any height, their terminal velocity (the maximun speed that gravity will pull you toward earth) is too low to kill them when they fall.
Ants also can fall from any height
Unless I throw it really hard.
ಠ_ಠ
19:37 "Save sid at the last possible second"
It's actually Buck
*cinemasins ding*
Was about to comment this 😂
And 15:58 Diego turns into a mammoth for a moment *DING!
I can’t believe i’m gonna be that guy but…
squirrels actually can survive hitting the ground at terminal velocity, so sin 10 at 1:15 is wrong @cinemasins where’s my like
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles It seems like it's not confirmed if they even get hurt from falling at terminal velocity, but we can be sure that they don't break any bones because that would very likely lead to them dying from blood loss or infection or the inability to escape from predators.
@@Interestking They can die or get severely hurt from falling depending on the circumstances like the surface they land on and what part of their body they hit the ground with or if something prevents them from being able to spread out or rotate to land properly... or if they are babies that aren't capable of doing any of that yet.
@Yummy Spaghetti Noodles , just watched a video the other day of a squirrel falling. It was in the top part of a tree that was being cut down that was probably close to the three times the height of the house it was next to, and that squirrel hit the ground and kept running. So it likely just depends on how they land as to how injured they are from the fall.
I would personally add one hundred sins for not adding Sid the Sloth in Encanto.
Fun fact, hamsters can also survive terminal velocity
12:59 - *Also remember Sid managed to carry 3 supposedly heavy dinosaur eggs up a near vertical ice hill but somehow can’t climb up the vertical cliff face with nothing in his hands*
12:48 I now realize the dark humor of this one line after years of not knowing what they meant 💀

The green gass scene was always one of my favorite parts of this particular Ice Age sequel. hell i'll bet even the actors themselves were laughing there arses off during the making of that scene.
im convinced it wasnt acting after a bit
and the brocoli investigation
which scene is that, im trying to remember but my mind's blanking on me
I would personally add one hundred sins for not adding Sid the Sloth in Encanto.
@@icewing202 The laughing gas one.
By far the best Ice Age sequel.
So be it... Jedi
I think Continental Drift is the best of the series. I just really liked the story of that one.
agreed
My personal opinion of the “Ice Age” movies? The first one, “The Meltdown”, “Dawn of the Dinosaurs” and “Continental Drift” are okay, while “Collision Course” and “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild” are terrible.
I have written a google review for each of the “Ice Age” films if you want to know my FULL opinion on them.
This was the most action packed movie i had watched when i was 6. Loved every minute and watched it multiple times.
This movie may not be good now, but as a child I loved this movie
May not be good now? This movie is literally better than any animated movie that's released now.
That's because as chuldren we were dumb
Watched it in the theater as a kid, it was a good ass experience laughing with everyone there. I’ll never forget
Tobi... You committed a war crime. You'll regret this. (Irony)
18:34 Eminem got some competition
7:35 That got a chuckle out of me.
Personally, out of all the movies, my favorite is the 2nd movie.
Agreed, love the meltdown
19:52 So that's where Jurassic World got their ending.
The Meltdown: Deus EX Rockina
Dawn Of The Dinosaurs: Deus Rex Momina
The fact that this movie even entertains the idea that a Fully Grown T-Rex would be intimidated by a Baryonyx is hilarious.
And the fact a baryonyx is bigger then a trex
Talking animals
If I remember correctly they wanted Rudy to be a Spinosaurus but scraped it at the last minute (I don't remember why) but in some of the early scenes before we see Rudy you can see that he has a sail.
Thanks Jurassic Park 3. -_-
She has 3 kids
The first four Ice Age movies are all great movies (especially for animated movies) but the fifth one… yeah we don’t talk about that one.
What about the ice age adventures of buck wild
@@DiegoHernandez-xt2su GOD NO.
Drift Apart is shit.
Fourth doesn’t count I trusted myself it was a trilogy
I love the fifth one it's my second favorite following the first
I figured the "talk to the trunk," was referring to her backside ("junk in the trunk"), but they had Ellie gesture with her trunk because it's a kids movie 🎥
3:29 Your very own slow-mo reveals that the turtle is leaving its shell and wooshing off screen to our right. The sin should be for that, not for retreating into the shell to invisibility. Get your sins straight dammit!
most of the sins on this channel are satire or just wrong. these guys have admitted they only watch the movie once or twice. That's not the point. They are two guys who make fun of movies.
It is actually a Glyptodon, which were mammals that were similar to armadillos. But the problem still stays that neither turtles nor glyptodons and armadillos can leave their shell. It's part of their body.
Fox exec: Let's bring to the sequels the one thing people loved about Ice Age.
Blue Sky: You mean the heartwarming story? The chemistry between the characters? The found family theme?
Fox: No, the disaster setpieces, the characters almost getting killed every 5 minutes is what gets asses in seats.
And also a squirrel who loves his acorn!
@@ilikecurry2345 Oh, squirrels who love acorns are TIGHT!
I would personally add one hundred sins for not adding Sid the Sloth in Encanto.
Hopefully soon, we get the rest of the franchise and the Madagascar franchise too.
I am with you. 😎
Madagascar would only work if Chris Rock and Jayda Pinkett Smith would work together, and with what happened, I don’t think so.
@@johnchrist461 He's talking about CinemaSins making videos on those movies.
@@CrazyIshan69 I would personally add one hundred sins for not adding Sid the Sloth in Encanto.
19:28 Ankylosaurus is an herbivore and never had any interest in eating the Ice Age gang
3:32
In a split second you can see the turtle straight up leaving the shell, that is why its empty
Now this should be worth way more sins my man
Thank you, feels good to see someone else who noticed
It didn't make sense in Over the Hedge either, but this is one of those times you just shrug and say "Screw it, it's a cartoon. The Looney Tunes should have died ten thousand times over by now."

I think at this point its just universal that "The Adventures of Buck Wild" was awful
Agreed, I never found continental drift to be too bad, a bit more cliche but not bad to watch or anything

The last "decent" Ice Age Movie. And one of the funniest too.

About the turtle and its empty shell, you can actually see the turtle fully leave its shell and run to the right. The turtle did not just pill its head in, it fully exited its shell
12:40 the elden ring joke was on point
by far the best movie in the series. For some reason whenever I watch it the snow always seems extra white when they return at the end, but never at the start, no matter how much I rewatch.
8:12 So I'm pretty sure that peaches used to be eaten by Pleistocene megafauna in China all throughout the Ice Age. I'm not sure if woolly mammoths ever made it as far south as China, I kind of doubt it. But it seems to me that the only reason why a mammoth couldn't have experienced the ancestor of modern day peaches has more to do with distribution and less to do with it being the ice age. Peaches didn't just evolve from nothing since the end of the Pleistocene 12,000 years ago, after all.
12:32 Jeremy calls momma dinosaur "he". **DING**
i love jeremy sinning movies that i actually liked and i can tell he liked as well. but my favorite sin videos will always be the ones that break the sin counter.
I don't think he does. He usually at least removes a couple of sins for those. Here, he didn't and I really didn't get any particularly warm vibes out of him either. He clearly doesn't hate it though.
huge missed outtake opportunity:
(Manny, Diego, Crash and Eddie are laughing in high pitch)
Ellie: They're just laughing, what's wrong with that?
Buck: They died laughing!
(shows dinosaur skeletons laughing)
Judge Doom: If you don't stop this laughing, you're gonna end up dead! just like your idiot hyena cousins!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Now that would've been a good one.
this movie has so many adult jokes in it and that’s why I love it
16:30 Cinima Sins believes fighter "jets" make WWII propeller noises.
Now give me likes
16:00 he called Diego Manny man im dead
I personally would have taken at least three sins off for the scene where the mother t-rex lifts Sid into the cave with her and her young. Crowning moment of heart-warming if you ask me.
2:08
Extra sin: ovens and buns weren't invented yet
"Diego can apparently jump... to save Sid at the last second."
That's not Sid.
DING
20:12 r.i.p Blue Sky Studios 😔
I LOVE that you had that quote from the Land Before Time! When I was a kid, 30+ years ago, I had that whole movie memorized.
2:49
i mean
Manny uses his Trunk as a hand all the time
Squirrels can survive terminal velocity which means the only way they can die from a fall is if they starve to death on the way down
Please do Everything Wrong With Sing 2
I really enjoyed that movie
Sin: No Eddie
19:16 just like sharks (and a lot of other animals that I don't give a single F word to) dinosaurs didn't have permanent teeth, they constantly fell and grew a new one, so no, Rudy wasn't looking for that tooth
16:12 Idk, but jumping from platform to platform over lava for me is giving me Super Mario flashbacks. 😉😂🤣
Which game
0:38 What a "Gong-Yi-Tan-Pai!" opportunity that was.
Um.. actually, no. The flying squirrel, scientifically, can and will survive a fall from whatever height within our atmosphere. It's terminal velocity (determined basically by the interaction between it's weight and the air resistance) is just too small to kill it.
Ding!
That is not at all what he was sinning he was sinning the fact that the flying squirrel (female because scrat is a regular squirrel) literally defies gravity there was not enough upforce there to push a squirrel upwards flying or not because that’s not how flying squirrels work they glide
17:07
"i love you" - "I know"
How can you leave a star wars reference in and not even acknowledge it..
Especially since its one of the 2 empire strikes back reference in this movie and you sinned the other.
So we're just gonna ignore the fact that this movie made an ankylosaurid a predatory animal. Or a highly territorial herbivore with unnecessarily sharp teeth.
Honestly this was always the best movie for me- even better than the first movie. It was a fun movie with a good setting, Buck was fun and it just had a good vibe all around.
Also Scratte is hot. Don’t @ me.

While it was a dick move of buck to almost kill his friends at the end, didn't you notice that he wanted to lock the ice age world from the dino world? But then again, there has to me more entrances
14:58 Skin begins to register pain at about 111 degrees F and begins to take damage at about 120 degrees F
20:04 BEST animated sin. period.
I'm convinced these Ice Age movies are metaphors for someone's real life

Ok, when you say lead bubble, how big of a bubble are we talking? Because if there is one thing that Mythbusters taught me other than if it’s worth doing that it’s worth overdoing is that a lead balloon would actually float.

This was my childhood, you better watch yourself
the fact that all the sins were mostly my favorite parts of the movie when I watched it, and most still are now
One thing that always bugged me about the Ice Age movies is how they had a humans in the first movie. Yet you never see them ever again, the time is all over the place, and they never mention them again.
6:08 So the sin, as always, is kids
14:30 clearly not a velociraptor, those were most likely guan longs or proceratosauruses.
*_Discount_* Velociraptors.
@@CrazyIshan69 a discount velociraptor would be something that's almost like a velociraptor but isn't one. You know like an adasaurus. Guan longs and proceratosauruses are nowhere close to velociraptors because they're Tyrannosaurids.
They're definitely Guanlong. While they're design-wise one of the better-looking dinos of the film, they're still inaccurate cuz they don't have enough feathers, there's no evidence of Guanlong hunting in packs and even if they did, Guanlong wouldn't dare attack prey the size of an adult mammoth.
@@kickerwhitelion7626 It's true that Guanlongs weren't related to Velos, but in this movie they were portrayed as small, swift and vicious pack hunters that _looked_ like raptors and played basically the same role as them.
@@cintronproductions9430 They are confirmed to be Guanlongs.
Nice to see you here, by the way. We meet again! 😅
I’ll never understand why there’s always animals that can’t talk while the other ones can.. let them all talk lol
When i was younger, i went on a few road trips with my grandparents and this movie and the one after would be playing for me
The biggest sin of this movie is the horrendously inaccurate size differences between the mammals and the dinosaurs. The fact they made Manny and Ellie, woolly mammoths human-sized compared a brachiosaurus will always bug me.
Almost all the dinos are drastically oversized. The T.rex is way too big. The Baryonyx is way too big. The Ankylosaurus is way too big. The Pachycephalosaurus, the Iguanodon and the Miragaia? Way. Too. BIG. XD
@@cintronproductions9430 You are technically correct. If we took the humans from 1 and compared them to Manny, they'd be reasonably small, but not tiny. Woolly mammoths were of similar size to African elephants. Now take those same humans and compare them to the dinosaurs from 3. They'd be like insects. The dinos are indeed laughably oversized.
7:05 Incorrectly writing "even" twice, reading it only once. One sin for the orthography and one for trying to cover it afterwards. DING DING.
CinemaSinsSins.
20:40 Fun fact, once I saw this movie played at an aquarium, but only a 30-minute version of it
Saying squirrels are good at planning things leads me to believe that you have never watched one try and cross a road.
1:16 Flying Squirrels could totally survive this. they could glide down to the bottom, to the wall or the canyon and then climb up or down, or even, if there's an updraft, fly out of the top of the canyon
5:37 This is a musk ox which are related to sheep
7:51 The trunk is part of the upper lip but it's not exactly part of the mouth. it's no more part of the mouth than a moustache is
8:37 Why is a herbivore ankylosaur trying to bite them
9:54 That's a pear
15:01 Not to mention, toxic gases that come with volcanos
16:36 This is not the sound of fighter jets, it is the sound of piston engine fighters like P 51s
17:38 Why didn't the ice ceiling melt if there's a volcano below it?
19:23 Ankylosaurs are herbivores. They didn't kill for food
20:44 Didn't the ice age end in the last movie?
Honestly I kinda just guess that the anlylosaur was biting because that’s the closest weapon it had, kinda like why a horse would bite. Just a means of offense. It’s most likely territorial.
@@XxTheCupidKidxX It is true that herbivores can bite, but unless said herbivore is a hippo, Hollywood tends to ignore this fact. That, and the fact that the Ankylo in this movie has SHARP TEETH, makes me think that they straight up made the Ankylo a carnivore, which is horribly inaccurate.

1:18 She goes up because she's slowing down in relation to Scratt, and she'll still have a safe landing if she glides down slowly.
I keep forgetting there was a time Ice Age existed lol
104; actually that obeys the laws of physics, squirrels cannot fall to their deaths as they do not reach a terminal velocity
Hi Jeremy. It's the annoying marine Biology student again. I just wanted to point out that due to some insane evolutionary gifts, squirrels can survive almost any fall. They spread their body out in a parachute like manner and pull their limbs in and out to slow their descent as much as possible. They also visually lock on to exactly where they plan to land to maximize chances of survival. And they don't need to be flying squirrels to do this. Great Video and have a nice day. 👍
17:18 scratt's immortal, didn;t you know that? i think he even went to space in later movies. he's just not bound by earthly rules
he's the incarnation of god
The terminal velocity of a squirrel is way lower than a person, so they basically take little to no fall damage
Squirrels can't die from fall damage.
12:40 thanks for the Elden Ring reference lol
But I searched this because I rewatched this yesterday. I still have to watch the fifth one, but this is my favorite one so far!
