a quick (in hindsight, VERY LONG) tip for submarines: all subs have the exact same crush depth, 240 meters. when you are damaged, crush depth is put higher up, so if you are hit by a torpedo and you have 1000 health left and you are at 200 meters, you die due to the damaged hull integrity and as the pressure for the water gets higher the deeper you go, more flooding occurs. the most important part of this tip is here --> (IMPORTANT) below 200 meters, torpedos that home in that are launched from a ship (untargeted homing) **DO NOT HOME INTO YOUR SUBMARINE, AS YOU ARE BELOW 200 METERS.** You also never cavitate below 200 meters, even with the futuristic sub at max speed. As you are a submarine, you can hunt surface ships (as long as they do not have ASROCS/soviet equivalents or futuristic anti-sub missiles) without being attacked reliably. One of the best ships to hunt with below 200 meters is the Red October. As you are nearly silent, even at max speed **footnote, do not use your full speed if you can help it; as the faster you go, even when not cavitating you still get louder. however, the red october is slow, so depending on what you want to do, you can comfortably move to 14 knots, raising your detection level to roughly the equivalent of the los angeles flight 3 or so* (below 75 meters, as 14 knots is still cavitating at 50m i believe), and taking into account the layer at 100m, nearly all surface ships will have a very bad time trying to find you. If you believe someone picks you up, drop to 0 knots, go passive sonar and make sure you are **BELOW 100 METERS** if said boat is a surface ship. If it is a submarine and is deeper than 100m, rise up above 100. Once you believe you are clear, go 5 knots until you are about 5-10 km farther away than you were. Then, you can pick up pace to 14 knots when you feel the time has come. New players sub recommendation, ALWAYS THE SEAWOLF. As you get more experienced, you can move to the SSN-23 special operations Seawolf if you have enough playtime on the seawolf, as it is quieter, but again slower. If you want to go russian/soviet, go the yasen (don't remember if that's ingame) or if that doesn't exist and my memory is scrambled go (1, the kilo, (2, the akula, or (3, the typhoon. If you are looking for the red october, play 2 hours total **ON THE TYPHOON** across any amount of time: days, weeks, months or even years! it doesn't need 2 hours in a whole play session. Press M for noisemakers, which practically drops a little pod that makes a whole lot of noise out the back of your submarine. It distracts enemy torpedos, but does not have a sonar signature: so you can't use it to confuse other players into thinking that you stopped dead in your tracks. In the case that the enemy knows how to use countermeasures, do this. Fire one torpedo, wait for them to drop a countermeasure. Once that has been done, fire 1 or 2 more. Then, wait a little longer, and fire the rest if you have any. Now, all they can do is run; and generally, you can't outrun torpedos in this game. This was a long guide, but hopefully this is in depth enough for anyone to get into subs. Bye I guess? Also if you (the reader) gets upset and/or happy/confused about how long this is, thank my ADHD and autism for that. It's a buy one, get 7 trillion deal when you have either one, I guess. I dunno, it works like a superpower and a curse. Have a nice day, reader
I have a question how the heck did a anti submarine plane somehow manage to detect me with their sonar and torpedo me (Guided) while I'm 200+ meters depth, using the Yasen, passive sonar, and not even moving an inch
Exactly, i keep asking and experimenting on how to aim the JDAMs and Paveways Paveways: because IRL it uses laser guided and can use GPS, i experiment with the "toggle camera" and "input coords" JDAM: i do "input coords" since IRL it uses GPS
because sonar only detects any type of thing there, you have to guess and constantly check for any dots and see if they send a torpedo, my experience idk if you mean something

So wrong and right at the same time lol
Off to court marshal you go
also, i think they should re-add the guidance on all of the GBUs, especially the paveways and JDAMs
